I Only Summon Villainesses - Chapter 377: Uncanny Reunion

The surface of the water trembled as the enemy approached. First came a crowded mass of heads rising in the distance that had only moments before been obscured by water. Then they drifted closer toward us, rising into full bodies.
The Water Moon were indeed a vast and terrifying clan, by their sheer numbers alone.
They were men and women in light armor consisting of a pale blue cuirass worn over a flowing eastern robe. They held their swords dutifully and advanced toward us.
At the frontline, right at the center, stood a tall, enigmatic figure wearing pale blue robes without armor. Her robe carried the pattern of a long serpentine dragon wrapping around a moon, and she wore a sharp-edged metal hat with the same color and pattern.
Curtains of blue rope hung from the hat, each ending with a small metal bell that clinked softly with every movement of the wind.
The hat obscured her face, but the dominating wave that emanated from her made a loud announcement of her strength.
I was beginning to feel slightly nervous. The woman aside, there were a number of people—five times the measly forces we had gathered to fight them.
I was confident in Kassie’s leadership, and she was going to demonstrate it today. This was, in fact, why I had collected the small number of soldiers we could find.
So that, with the little numbers we had, we might increase the odds of this hopeless battle and give the Red Commander the opportunity to show us why that name mattered.
But now, looking at the overwhelming numbers against us… this suddenly seemed like a very reckless and poorly thought-out endeavor.
Kassie smiled. She did not shift her gaze from the approaching enemy but whispered to me in a mocking tone.
“Scared?”
I chuckled mildly and whispered back.
“I don’t want to give you the opportunity to fail, so I’m here wondering if running away is the better option.”
Kassie’s gaze hardened, but before she could speak further, the enemy drew closer, standing a few meters away from us.
A man with sharp, angled eyes stepped out.
Beside us, tied to the base of the tree, was the Patriarch, who shifted slightly and struggled as the water slowly submerged him.
The man glanced at him and then looked up.
I waved dismissively and smiled.
“You don’t mind a leaking roof, do you?”
The man’s eyes were tightly shut, and his expression was stripped of any emotion. He shifted his gaze toward White Feather and then returned it to me, standing in front of him.
He clicked his mouth in derision.
“We made the right call deciding that the Boundless Wave Clan didn’t deserve its honor anymore. Look—just look at what you have all fallen to.”
He spoke while looking at White Feather’s face, which I found offensive, since I was standing here right in front of him for a reason.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands.
The moment Frostfang swung past his right hand, the wind shifted, and the sword cleaved only empty air. The bells clinked lightly as the man suddenly stood behind me with a widened expression.
’So his eyes could open?’
I had honestly thought eyes like that couldn’t widen no matter how hard they tried. This was certainly a pleasant development.
But it wasn’t the guy that interested me anymore.
It was his savior.
My eyes narrowed.
’It clearly felt like I was read… did she read me before I moved?’
Not only had she read me, but she was fast enough to match my movement. I was only an E-rank, but that was not something one encountered every day.
I continued to stare at the woman, taking a moment to process how familiar the air around her felt. I hadn’t noticed it earlier since she had been quite far away. But when she got close enough to save the young man, that brief moment was enough to catch a faint whiff of her scent.
And there were only a handful of times I was wrong.
I fixed a stern look on the woman.
“Yuan?”
Immediately her head snapped up, revealing her shocked face.
“Lord Cade?”
A smug grin appeared on my face.
’Who said things couldn’t get better?’
“Oh, oh, oh… would you look at that…”
The smile curved further, turning almost supercilious.
Yuan took staggered steps, hurrying toward me.
“Is-is that really you, Lord Cade?”
My hands found her chin and raised it slightly.
“Yes, it is, Yuan… what is going on here? What are you doing here?” I asked, glancing around her to study her surroundings.
It wasn’t until I asked that question that everything began to make sense.
Yuan had indeed informed me of her mission to claim her rightful position in her clan—the Moon Clan. But I had so completely forgotten about that detail, and about her, that I hadn’t considered the possibility.
Or maybe I had—but I also knew the odds were slim.
A warm smile spread across her face, and her cheeks reddened like she was running an intense fever.
“So it worked,” she murmured. “The oath worked.”
“The oath?”
I repeated the words under my breath.
’Ayooo… wait a minute. That thing I did just to satisfy my sexual lust really worked? No way…’
Yes way.
But I still wasn’t entirely convinced it was that simple. Perhaps this was just a convenient coincidence. At the same time, it was simply too coincidental.
Meanwhile, the world around us had fallen into an odd silence.
The people behind me—and those behind Yuan—did not know how to react. They simply stared at this uncanny reunion in stunned disbelief.
Meeting Yuan was nice—very nice.
It would save me a great deal of massacre today.
My gaze stayed on her as I asked with a concerned tone and a tight frown.
“But Yuan… how did we get here? Is the Water Moon your clan?”
She gently placed her hands together in front of me and bowed her head respectfully.
“Yes, Lord Cade… this is my clan. Over four months ago, I returned to claim my rightful place as heir.”
She shot a scathing gaze at White Feather.
“And to restore the stolen honor of my clan.”
I glanced at White Feather, then back at Yuan.
Then I understood.
’Of course… there’s more to this.’
I folded my arms and inhaled, thinking deeply for a moment. After a while, I raised my hand and declared:
“Time out, time out.”
Everyone stood in utter silence, wondering what exactly was going on. None of them stopped staring at me, their faces displaying a variety of expressions.
There was one question clearly written across their manifold expressions.
Ignoring their curiosity, I turned away and commanded instantly.
“White Feather, Yuan—follow me.”
Both of them hesitated briefly before moving after each other. Yuan quickly ran close to me, holding my arm as I walked through the flood toward the quarters assigned to me.
Meanwhile, people continued to mutter outside, staring in disbelief at whatever had just happened.
Even the Patriarch of the Crystal Deep Clan, tied to the tree, stared in absolute disbelief, muttering:
“No, no, no, no… this can’t be. What’s going on here?”
Meanwhile, a dark air loomed somewhere among them, causing people to think twice before stepping near it.
For some strange reason, Kassie seemed to be in a very bad mood.

I couldn’t sit on the ground since the place was getting flooded, although the water level was slightly lower than outside. I sat on the table in my room and glanced at the two of them before focusing particularly on Yuan.
I opened my arms to her and smiled.
“Come here. It’s been a while.”
Yuan’s eyes widened, and she hurriedly fell into my chest, almost knocking me back. But I had grown far stronger since the ship voyage.
I held her tightly, feeling her soft, full breasts press against my chest.
Memories of our ship escapades flooded my mind, and for a moment it took herculean restraint to suppress the part of me that wanted to rip off her clothes and admire her beautiful breasts.
“Lord Cade, I missed you so much. I’m also glad—so glad that our paths connected again. For a moment, I thought I was never going to see you again!”
I smiled as she said this.
’Me too… it was pitiful to think I would never see you again. Oh goodness, I’ve missed those breasts.’
I smiled warmly, completely hiding the treacherous thoughts roaming my mind.
“I always waited for this moment…”
I withdrew slightly and held her face with a confident look in my eyes, giving her a sultry stare.
“I have had to prepare for the day I would meet you again. And I am glad it came sooner than I expected.”
Her eyes widened and froze for a moment, her cheeks reddening like tomatoes.
Before she could become too emotional and lose her composure right here, I diverted the conversation.
“But talk to me, Yuan… what is going on?”
My gaze hardened.
“Tell me everything.”
