Chapter 308: Blood Zombie Demon General!
Silence gradually returned.
Less than a minute had passed.
The swarm of more than a thousand Bloodthirsty Demonic Bats had been exterminated completely. Not one had managed to touch his body.
Li Yun lowered his hand and walked forward casually.
Crunch.
A half-dead bat beneath his foot was crushed into pulp instantly.
He glanced over the mountain of corpses spread throughout the cave, and a cold smile curved across his lips.
“With so many Bloodthirsty Demonic Bats gathered here…”
“It seems the information from the Blood Zombie Young Master was accurate.”
“The Blood Zombie Demon General is indeed hiding in this place.”
Bloodthirsty Demonic Bats were extremely rare vicious beasts. Across the Southern Martial Domain, seeing even one was uncommon. Rumor held that only the Blood Zombie Demon General controlled them in such numbers. They were practically his personal mark.
Where these bats gathered, he was never far away.
Li Yun snorted softly.
Then his figure blurred and shot deeper into the cave at even greater speed.
Five or six minutes later, after crossing twisting tunnels and descending farther underground, Li Yun finally arrived at the deepest region of the mountain cave.
This was a vast stone hall, nearly a hundred paces wide and just as long. The chamber stretched outward like an underground palace hidden within the mountain, its scale far beyond what the narrow cave passages above would suggest.
Strange blood-colored runes had been carved across the floor, walls, and pillars in dense overlapping layers. They pulsed faintly like living veins beneath skin, releasing dim crimson light in steady rhythms. The patterns were twisted and unnatural, as though created through forbidden rituals rather than ordinary craftsmanship.
Above, embedded deep into the ceiling, hung grotesque objects shaped like beating hearts. Each one throbbed heavily, and every pulse sent eerie scarlet light spreading across the chamber. The repeated sound echoed through the hall like the heartbeat of some giant hidden monster.
The entire place glowed red. Combined with the thick metallic scent of blood lingering in the air, the chamber felt less like a room and more like a world formed entirely from slaughter and gore.
Li Yun swept his gaze across the surroundings only once before fixing his attention on the figure ahead.
At the very center of the hall stood a blood pool nearly identical to the one he had once seen inside the Blood Demon Palace. Dark liquid churned slowly within it, releasing waves of sinister energy.
Seated cross-legged in the middle of that pool was a middle-aged man with long blood-red hair spilling over his shoulders. He wore savage crimson armor lined with spikes and engraved with demonic symbols. A chilling aura radiated naturally from every part of his body, making the surrounding blood pool seem tame by comparison.
If the Blood Zombie Young Master had been a petty devil, then the man before him was a true ancient fiend.
The difference between them was like dust compared to a mountain.
“Blood Zombie Demon General,” Li Yun said softly.
Though he had never seen the man before, there was no room for doubt. Only one of the eighteen Demon Generals of the Iron Blood Sect could possess such terrifying presence.
Hearing Li Yun’s voice, the man slowly opened his eyes.
They were scarlet and ghastly, as though blood itself flowed within them.
He stared at Li Yun indifferently for a moment before the corners of his lips curled upward in a cold smile.
“Heh. I did not expect some insignificant little fish would dare disturb my closed-door cultivation.”
His smile deepened with contempt.
“You truly came here seeking death.”
As the final word fell, the Blood Zombie Demon General slowly rose from the blood pool.
The liquid beneath him bubbled violently with gurgling sounds, as though boiling from unseen heat. At the same time, a horrifying aura spread outward from his body.
The stone hall shook violently.
The surrounding air trembled as though space itself could not remain steady beneath his presence. It felt as if a peerless devil had awakened and even heaven and earth recoiled from him.
Li Yun’s expression changed instantly.
The blood inside his own body suddenly stirred wildly, as though it wanted to tear free from his veins and rush toward the demon general. A muffled groan escaped him, and a thin line of blood slipped from the corner of his mouth.
“So strong…”
This was only aura pressure. No martial art had been used. No attack had been launched. Yet he had already suffered injury.
Li Yun’s heart sank slightly. He had come because all intelligence suggested the Blood Zombie Demon General had been heavily wounded and retained only a fragment of his strength.
But the monster before him was still terrifying beyond reason.
Even weakened, he was monstrous.
The Blood Zombie Demon General looked down at Li Yun like a ruler examining an insect.
“I have only just recovered from grave injuries and happen to be in a pleasant mood today.”
His voice was calm, yet every word carried cruelty.
“So I will give you one chance.”
He lifted his chin slightly and smiled coldly.
“Kneel before me. Submit to me. Become my blood slave, and I may spare your life.”
Li Yun let out a disdainful snort.
“You want to enslave me?”
He straightened despite the crushing pressure around him.
“Keep dreaming.”
He circulated his chaos qi fiercely to resist the oppressive force pressing against his body.
The Blood Zombie Demon General’s expression immediately turned cold.
“Hmph.”
The aura around him intensified again.
Then something else moved.
An invisible scarlet force shot from the demon general’s eyes and entered Li Yun’s mind. This was not ordinary pressure. It was a sinister soul technique designed to dominate consciousness itself.
A malicious will invaded his thoughts, seeking to crush resistance, erase his sense of self, and seize control of his body from within.
Li Yun’s pupils contracted sharply.
For the first time since entering the chamber, he felt genuine danger.
His thoughts became heavy. His limbs felt distant. A strange desire to kneel and obey began rising from deep within his mind.
