Chapter 309: Divine Eye Regin Supreme!
The Blood Zombie Demon General laughed darkly.
“So this is where your defiance ends. A body with talent like yours should not be wasted.”
His scarlet eyes glowed brighter.
“Become mine.”
The invading soul force deepened, pressing harder and harder into Li Yun’s consciousness. His breathing roughened slightly. For one brief moment, it truly seemed as though he might be overtaken.
Then a purple light flashed within Li Yun’s left eye.
Nine Tribulations Divine Eye awakened instantly.
The moment it activated, the invading soul force became perfectly clear to him. Every strand of foreign will, every hidden thread of domination, and every attempt to suppress his consciousness was exposed completely.
What had seemed dangerous a moment earlier now appeared crude and full of flaws.
Li Yun’s soul straightened like a drawn sword.
The strange pressure vanished instantly. The invading force was shattered and expelled without effort.
The Blood Zombie Demon General’s smile froze on his face.
Li Yun slowly raised his head.
There was no confusion left in his eyes. No strain remained on his features. Only cold amusement stared back at the demon general.
“You wanted to take over my body?”
He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and smiled faintly.
“With soul techniques at this level?”
The purple glow in his left eye intensified further, filling the chamber with a mysterious pressure.
For the first time since Li Yun had entered the hall, the Blood Zombie Demon General’s expression changed visibly.
Because he had felt it clearly.
The power within that eye naturally restrained him. His attempt to dominate Li Yun had not merely failed. It had been completely neutralized.
“Little beast! Do not think this will save you!”
Blood Zombie Demon General had never been known for patience or restraint. Seeing his soul force was unable to penetrate Li Yun’s soul, he became very impatient.
The demon general’s expression turned uglier with every passing breath. Scarlet light swirled within his eyes, while cold killing intent rolled outward in waves that made the vast stone hall feel even more oppressive.
He stared at Li Yun with naked hostility before speaking in a harsh, contemptuous voice.
“Little beast, do you think everyone is qualified to become this Demon General’s blood slave?”
His chin lifted proudly, arrogance dripping from every word.
“For this Demon General to look upon you is fortune earned through several lifetimes of cultivation. Although you would bear the name of slave, do not forget who stands before you.”
The blood pool beneath him churned as his aura rose.
“I am one of the eighteen Demon Generals of the Iron Blood Sect. My status is noble, exalted, and feared across the Southern Martial Region. Any blood slave who serves beneath me would naturally possess standing far beyond ordinary martial artists.”
His gaze became distant, as though he were already looking toward a future only he could see.
“Now my injuries have nearly recovered, and I have mastered the secret connected to the Iron Blood Sect’s hidden treasure trove. Once I leave this place and reclaim that inheritance, the Iron Blood Sect will rise once more.”
The greed in his voice was impossible to conceal.
“When that day comes, I will become the new Sect Master of the Iron Blood Sect.”
He pointed directly at Li Yun.
“And you, if you kneel now, will be remembered as the first person who followed me in restoring its glory. Do you think you would still remain a mere blood slave then?”
His lips curled into a cruel smile.
“No. You would become the First Demon General of the Iron Blood Sect, standing above one person and below ten thousand. Every martial artist in the Southern Martial Region would look up to you in fear and reverence.”
His tone grew almost seductive as he continued.
“Power, wealth, women, treasures, authority. Whatever you desire would be yours.”
He paused deliberately, allowing the promises to settle in the air before his voice turned cold again.
“Kid, this Demon General is giving you one final chance.”
His scarlet eyes narrowed into thin slits.
“You now have only two choices.”
“Submit to me and become my blood slave…”
“Or become a pile of white bones and remain buried in this cave forever.”
As the final sentence fell, he slowly raised one palm.
Boom!
The blood pool beneath his feet erupted violently. A towering wave of crimson liquid surged several meters into the air, scattering droplets that hissed like acid when they struck the stone floor.
Yet the blood did not fall back down.
It remained suspended, controlled by an unseen force. The crimson tide twisted and coiled behind the Blood Zombie Demon General like a living serpent made of slaughter and hatred. It churned restlessly while locking onto Li Yun with murderous intent, as though it would descend and swallow him whole the instant he refused again.
For an ordinary martial artist, such a display would have been enough to break the spirit. Temptation on one side, death on the other. Most people would kneel immediately beneath that mixture of greed and terror.
Li Yun, however, remained unmoved.
He did not kneel. He did not retreat. He did not show the slightest trace of panic.
Instead, after listening to the long speech, a strange light began to flicker within his eyes. His expression slowly turned thoughtful, almost amused.
“According to rumor,” Li Yun thought inwardly, “the Blood Zombie Demon General is cruel, violent, and unstable. He slaughters entire families over the smallest disagreement.”
His gaze sharpened as he studied the man before him more carefully.
“Yet I have insulted him to his face. I resisted his soul domination and broke his technique.”
He narrowed his eyes further.
“And still he has not attacked decisively.”
The contradiction became clearer the more he considered it.
“Instead, he keeps talking. He keeps threatening. He keeps trying to recruit me to become his blood slave.”
Li Yun’s thoughts raced.
“That does not match the nature of a man like him.”
His lips slowly curved upward.
“Unless…”
His dark eyes gleamed with sudden realization.
“Unless he cannot kill me as easily as he pretends.”
