- Chapter 330 - 198: Pseudo-Spirituality, The Cauldron Appears

’Qing Cang wants to buy this Deceitful God’s Power?’
In the crowd, Su Chen was stunned. “Is there a way to utilize this Deceitful God’s Power out there?”
“Er…” Chong Jingtian hesitated for a moment before deflecting, “This is our last hope.”
Qing Cang sighed. He didn’t press the matter, only saying to Xia Jie, “No need to watch them too closely.”
Xia Jie nodded and signaled for his men to leave. Just as Qing Cang was handling things and preparing to re-enter the metal corridor filled with Sinful Fire Punishment Thunder, Chong Jingtian suddenly called out to him. “Your Excellency…”
He said in a low voice, “There is a matter of great importance.”
“Oh?” Qing Cang was surprised. After a moment’s thought, he invited him into the spaceship.
’Whew, glad nothing bad happened.’ Su Chen breathed a sigh of relief, watching the crowd gradually disperse.
“It seems you’ve stored a good amount of the Deceitful God’s Power.”
A voice sounded by his ear. It was Wan Chen, who had approached him at some unknown point.
’This guy’s got a total poker face, but he’s always around for the drama,’ Su Chen complained inwardly. Then he heard Wan Chen’s reminder:
“You should collect some when you leave. Anything related to the Deceitful God is quite valuable and can sell for a lot of money.”
Su Chen’s interest was piqued. “We treat the Deceitful God like the plague, but the things it leaves behind and its sealed power have other uses?”
“Of course.” Wan Chen nodded. “Some people can use the Deceitful God’s Power to create things that are beneficial for class ascension.”
“Huh?” Su Chen jolted, the shock on his face genuine.
He had seen that the class ascension process could be cheated, first witnessing it with Zhang Hengyu.
But in Ying Feng, there weren’t many similar methods. At most, they could temporarily boost one’s spiritual or physical Talent, but the applications weren’t widespread.
But in the outside world, it seemed the applications were far more extensive, and they even utilized the Deceitful God’s Power.
Wan Chen found Su Chen’s surprise completely normal. He explained:
“Class requirements can be incredibly strange. Even with all our resources and manpower, some requirements are simply too difficult to meet. And forcing a class ascension will affect one’s abilities.”
“But by using the Deceitful God’s Power, there’s a chance to distort a class’s Pseudo-Spirituality.”
Su Chen had actually heard of this so-called Pseudo-Spirituality. He’d happened to hear Lin Yue mention it some time ago. It was a rather popular theory in the Dust Star Sea.
The gist of it was that when you learn all the information about a class, that class would then manifest a kind of Pseudo-Spirituality within you.
This Pseudo-Spirituality would, from the inside out, comprehensively monitor whether you met the class requirements. If you could influence this Pseudo-Spirituality, then class ascension would no longer be a problem.
At the time, Su Chen had been quite surprised. ’Doesn’t this perfectly explain how my panel registers classes? It’s just a materialization of this Pseudo-Spirituality.’
“However, it’s not easily done.” Seeing his interest, Wan Chen reined it in a bit. “This is not a conventional method. The Deceitful God’s Power is very dangerous, and there are certain risks. It’s hard to say what kind of effects it might have.”
“There are plenty of cases of people being corrupted by the Deceitful God’s Power and falling into depravity. But in the end, some people are willing to take the risk, so these things are still considered valuable.”
“I see…” Su Chen was lost in thought. He could only sigh in admiration. ’It truly is a much wider world out there.’
Taking this opportunity, the conversation shifted to the Deceitful God. Su Chen asked many questions and learned a lot of information.
Deceitful God’s Followers were also active in the Dust Star Sea; only the core regions of the Sects could be considered safe.
The most crucial piece of information was that Deceitful Gods varied in strength, and the ones that appeared on Red Thunder Star were all major Deceitful Gods with established names.
“It’s not that your Red Thunder Star is particularly disaster-prone…” Wan Chen explained. “It’s that many of the Little Deceitful Gods from the Nether Realm don’t have the ability to corrupt entire planets. The ones that do are all major Deceitful Gods.”
’Survivorship bias.’ Su Chen naturally understood this principle.
…
Inside the spaceship, Qing Cang’s expression changed dramatically after hearing Chong Jingtian’s account. He shot to his feet and asked repeatedly, “You really saw such a person?”
“That’s right…” Seeing Qing Cang’s intense reaction, Chong Jingtian became even more suspicious of what Xia Hanshi had claimed. ’Was he really the one who discovered it?’
His expression turned solemn. “I was out on patrol last night and discovered this person from a great distance.”
“The sense of threat coming from him was immense, so I didn’t dare get close. I only got a rough look.”
Finally, Chong Jingtian asked cautiously, “This person is…?”
“Ni Chuan… from the Royal Court.” Qing Cang’s expression was ugly. He didn’t think Chong Jingtian was lying. Someone who had never left Red Thunder Star wouldn’t know Ni Chuan’s appearance if they hadn’t seen him.
’But the question is, why would someone from the Royal Court come here? And how did they get here so fast?’
“Do the other three cities also have a way to contact the Royal Court?” Qing Cang asked in a low, heavy voice.
Chong Jingtian understood his meaning and immediately explained, “Lieyang and Celestial Joy know nothing about the Stone Slab. Yuan Capital and I didn’t know at first that it contained a Morning Star Tier class, either. It was definitely not us who contacted them in secret.”
Although he stretched the truth, it fundamentally wasn’t them.
“If it wasn’t you…” Qing Cang thought for a moment and mostly ruled out Chong Jingtian and the others as suspects.
Based on the estimated travel speed, the person from the Royal Court must have set out at roughly the same time he did. Even if someone on Red Thunder Star had contacted the Royal Court, the timing was too much of a coincidence.
Qing Cang didn’t finish his sentence. His face gradually darkened, his simmering anger barely suppressed. ’Before I came, I didn’t tell anyone the specific coordinates of this place.’
“Then, right now…” Chong Jingtian couldn’t help but ask.
“We can’t wait any longer.” Qing Cang paced back and forth, his expression flickering. He suddenly stopped and said in a heavy voice, “Follow me.”
Chong Jingtian didn’t understand, but he quickly followed Qing Cang out of the spaceship. He saw the other man walk up to the metal corridor that spewed red fire, but he didn’t go inside.
Then, watching Qing Cang’s actions, his expression filled with shock. ’What is he doing?’
…
“How are Deceitful Gods born?” Hearing Su Chen’s question, Wan Chen pondered for a moment. Just as he was about to speak, his gaze drifted, his expression froze, and he stared blankly in a certain direction, speechless.
Su Chen was waiting for the answer to his question, but he realized the other man looked as if he had just seen something incredible.
Following his gaze, Su Chen’s heart skipped a beat as well.
He saw Qing Cang, who usually carried himself with a graceful, otherworldly air, now kneeling before the red, fiery corridor.
’Has he been tortured into madness?’
The thought instinctively crossed Su Chen’s mind, but then he noticed a fervent glow ignite in Wan Chen’s eyes. With a flicker of his body, Wan Chen moved closer.
’Something big is about to happen,’ Su Chen sensed. The crowd around them was growing. Xia Hanshi, who had been processing the items of the Deceitful God transported from Celestial Joy, was there, as was the composed Zhou Yanwu.
Qing Cang paid no mind to the onlookers’ gazes. Kneeling on the ground, his voice boomed, carrying far into the distance. “Master, someone from the Royal Court has arrived. I implore your assistance.”
’Mas…ter?’
Su Chen’s breath caught in his throat. ’The Ancient King… he’s really here?’
’And he’s already snuck into these ruins?’
Wan Chen’s breathing grew ragged, a fiery light bursting from his eyes. He silently clenched his fists.
Xia Hanshi’s eyes narrowed. ’The Bronze Ancient King?’
After Qing Cang’s words fell, there was no movement at first. The surrounding crowd showed expressions of shock and doubt.
Just then, a roar echoed from the ground. The crimson metal floor around the ruin’s entrance began to tremble violently. The ground split open with web-like chasms, shattering like a fragile eggshell and spreading out in all directions.
RUMBLE!
Crimson lava burst through its restraints. Pillars of fire, wreathed in violent lightning, shot ten thousand meters into the sky. The heavens were suddenly swallowed by a red thunderstorm as electric serpents tore through the clouds, intertwining with the earthly flames.
Everyone’s expression turned to horror. Qing Cang had already risen to his feet. An azure stream of wind suddenly expanded, enveloping every person in the gathering area, and even the transport ships. With irresistible force, it swept them all backward.
In the center of the Fire and Thunder Purgatory, the ground melted. As if an earth dragon were turning over, accompanied by the grating screech of metal, a colossal shadow smashed through the bedrock from below and soared straight up.
The overturned earth and rock turned into a downpour of molten rain. The resulting shockwave kicked up layer after layer of dust.
Before the dumbfounded eyes of the crowd, a three-legged, two-handled, dragon-patterned Red Gold grand cauldron, over ten thousand meters tall, emerged from the Fire and Thunder Purgatory.
It looked as if it had been through a brutal war. Its metallic luster was dim, and its surface was covered in nicks and cracks, through which broken mechanical structures could be seen.
A Crimson fluid, a mixture of lava and lightning plasma, coursed over its surface. One of its legs was mostly broken off, with solidified metallic tumors hanging from the remainder.
Even so, an overwhelming sense of magnificence and immensity still washed over them, causing the breath of every onlooker to catch in their throats.
