Necromancer Of The Shadows - Chapter 1356: A Familiar Face

Chapter 1356: A Familiar Face
A few thousand kilometers away from the shore of the Boundless Ocean, tens of thousands of people were engaged in fierce combat.
Most of the fighters were Rank One or below, with a handful at Rank Two—and the strongest among them barely at the beginner level of Rank Three.
All of them were demons and dragons, though a closer look would reveal a number of vampires scattered among the ranks, fighting against demons and supporting the dragons.
The demons were at a disadvantage, but their superior numbers allowed them to hold their ground against the dragons, who now had the added support of the vampires.
A mid-level Rank Two male dragon with two crystal-like horns was currently engaged in battle with a beginner-level Rank Two blood demon.
The demon’s body was riddled with wounds, and blood flowed freely, soaking his already tattered clothes.
The crystal dragon grinned at the demon, and with a casual wave of his hand, hundreds of crystalline bullets shot forth like a hailstorm.
The blood demon’s expression shifted drastically when he saw the deadly barrage and immediately formed a wall of blood in front of him as a shield.
However—
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Crack! Crack!
Under the relentless barrage of bullets, the blood wall cracked and splintered, and in less than a second, it shattered like glass.
“Not good…” The blood demon muttered in panic, attempting to retreat. But the bullets were simply too fast.
Before he could react, his body was pierced by hundreds of sharp crystalline projectiles, reducing him to mincemeat.
The mid-level Rank Two crystal dragon smiled coldly and bent down to pick up the demon’s storage ring.
He casually scanned the battlefield, searching for his next prey. Amidst the chaos, his gaze landed on another beginner-level Rank Two demon.
The crystal dragon always targeted those weaker than himself—it allowed him to rack up kills and collect merits easily.
He began approaching the demon he had marked.
But just when he was about twenty meters away, a silver light flashed behind the demon, and a woman appeared out of thin air.
The crystal dragon’s face contorted in alarm as he sensed space fluctuations—but before he could react, the wind was torn apart, and a terrifyingly sharp aura shot toward his neck.
’Peak of Rank Two…’ The crystal dragon cried inwardly—and the next second, his head flew into the sky.
Blood gushed out like a fountain as his headless body crumpled to the ground.
The woman glanced indifferently at the fallen corpse before disappearing again.
A moment later, she reappeared behind a vampire, and just like the dragon before, the vampire’s head soared into the air before he could even register her presence.
’Damn it… I can’t believe I got dragged into this mess because that bastard vanished to who-knows-where,’ The woman thought with an annoyed look on her face as she cut down another Rank Two dragon.
’If I hadn’t invested so much effort climbing the ranks in this collapsing empire, I would’ve left it behind ages ago.’
She continued flashing across the battlefield, moving like a grim reaper harvesting Rank Two Core Evolvers.
Each time she appeared, another Rank Two dragon or vampire would fall.
Before long, the beginner-level Rank Three Core Evolver from the dragon side took notice of her actions.
He frowned, disturbed by how she was methodically butchering Rank Two Vampires and dragons alike.
He attempted to intercept her, but she was using teleportation to vanish after every strike—making it nearly impossible, even for him, to catch up.
’Once this fight is over, I am taking a break from this war…’ The woman muttered internally as she beheaded yet another Rank Two dragon and vanished again.
’If there’s still no news about that Demon Monarch, I won’t hesitate to join another faction.’
Because of the sheer number of people she had killed, most of the dragon and vampire warriors had now taken notice of her presence.
When she appeared behind a mid-level rank two vampire to eliminate him, the vampire reacted instantly and split into thousands of blood bats, scattering in all directions.
The woman sneered at the display and slashed her dagger at seemingly empty space—aiming to cut through the fabric of space itself.
The moment she did, sharp spatial ripples erupted in every direction at lightning speed.
The bats hadn’t even flown a hundred meters when the ripples caught up with them and detonated them into a cloud of blood mist.
The blood mist condensed, forming the vampire once again, but his face was ghostly pale and his body was covered in numerous deep wounds.
Before he could even think of escaping, a sharp dagger slashed through his neck from behind, and his head fell to the ground like the rest.
The woman glanced coldly at the vampire’s headless corpse, emotionless, then locked her gaze onto her next target.
Silver light danced around her body, and she began to vanish once again.
All of the dragon-side fighters tensed up the moment they saw this, afraid they’d be her next victim.
When the woman saw the fear in their eyes, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and smirked in satisfaction.
But just as her body was about to disappear, she suddenly sensed an overwhelming surge of spatial energy surrounding her.
Her expression shifted instantly as she tried to wrest control over the surrounding space.
However, to her shock, she realized she could no longer manipulate it.
Even the coordinates she had planned to teleport to were overridden by the powerful spatial force.
“Wha—!!” She gasped in disbelief as she felt herself being forcefully teleported to an unknown location.
The scenery around her blurred—and in the next moment, she found herself standing in front of three individuals.
One of them had sharp, pointed ears like an elf—but his aura was entirely different, more akin to that of a demon.
He smiled at her with a teasing expression and spoke casually.
“It’s been a while, Natasha. Are you trying to build a dark organization in Utopia now?”
