Chapter 2863: Separation of Souls
“Ugu gugu!” The monkey beasts stated with confusion as they thought that Adrian was about to kill Hanu.
The monkey beasts thought that they were healed as a payment for Hanu’s life but Saena told them that is not the case. Adrian wanted to explain what will happen to Hanu if he does not extract the soul fragment of the monkey king but they are not that intelligent to know that. In fact, it would be strange if they know about the concept of souls and divine power.
“Just stay quiet, I am trying to help your family member because he is currently in a state where he would die at any moment he uses his power.” Adrian stated which the monkey beasts somewhat understood because they have been tending to Hanu every time.
The monkey beasts knew that Hanu often looks like his life is whittling away. Monsters might not have the ability to see the gods of death hovering about those about to die but they can sense when a being’s life is slowly going away. It is something like a sixth sense for monsters and this sense is more pronounced with members of their family.
“Ugugu guguggugu?” One of the monkey beasts asked.
“Yes. I will cure him from that sickness that you have been seeing from him. In fact, that current form of his is draining and straining his soul. The fact that he wants to help all of you even if he dies is noble but sacrifice should never be noble. What do you think will happen to those you leave behind? Am I right, Hanu?” Adrian stated as he looked at the demi human that is currently standing idly.
Hanu’s body has already rejected any commands from his soul and mind. This is a state where the soul and the body have completely detached from functioning together. This is the reason why Hanu cannot move even though he could see everything. It might be a self-preservation method that his body used to make sure that he will not strain his soul once again.
Adrian can see it clearly as there are three entities swirling about in Hanu’s soul. He could already see Hanu’s soul and the soul fragment of the monkey king but he does not know what the other entity is. This other entity is not harmful to Hanu and is actually trying to stop the erosion of the souls. The only problem is that this other entity is using parts of its own soul to mend the broken parts.
“That is a very dangerous and inefficient method though. Let me summon the land between life and death. Come forth, Limbo.” Adrian whispered as his voice carried this ominous yet calming sensation as the area around them suddenly became covered in mist.
[You have used your authority as the Lord of Limbo to summon parts of the Realm Between Life and Death into the mortal realm.]
[The summoned parts of the realm will only be present for ten minutes.]
“It should be enough time. Now, let us begin the operation of separating the souls.” Adrian stated with a smile as all six of his wings suddenly spread out and each of them suddenly contained eyes made out of void energy. Each of the eyes moved in different ways as if they are independent entities.
“Paradox, aid me in making sure that I do not accidentally kill him.” Adrian stated as Paradox suddenly changed its form to numerous hands with this distinct eye mark that is also present in his master’s wings.
The hands that Paradox manifested are made of chaos energy and each of them held on tight against Hanu’s body. The demi human that could easily push any being bigger than him suddenly found himself unable to move properly. One of the reasons of this is also the Land of Limbo that Adrian summoned beneath Hanu’s feet.
In Limbo, Adrian is the Absolute Ruler and he could command any being to not move or create restrictions that will affect all beings in it. Adrian created a restriction that any demi human with joined souls shall be weakened when inside of the Land of Limbo. Adrian wanted to try using a command but that will not work properly on a being that has no soul controlling the body.
“Since everything is secure, COME OUT!” Adrian’s commanding voice shouted as his sudden outburst created a strange phenomenon.
The soul of a living body suddenly came out of their body. Hanu’s complicated soul suddenly came out of his body and floated behind him. The soul looked like it was about to be sent to the afterlife but Adrian told Paradox to hold it down. Hands came out from Hanu’s shadow and grabbed at his soul which made it unable to wander off.
Adrian’s current form is vastly different from his new default form. His current form is that of his Chaotic Limbo Form which is a being that is made from black cosmic dust with red eye glyphs all over his body. He does not even have legs as his entire form is purely soul form. The only thing that is reminiscent of his new default form is that he has his horns burning in void energy while his eyes are blindfolded in white with in an X formation.
“Interesting! How did?!” Adrian stated but all of the monkey beasts before him were sprawling on the ground while foaming at the mouth as if they have seen something that their minds cannot process.
The monkey beasts did not faint because they were surprised by Adrian’s abilities or something. All of them fainted when they gazed upon Adrian’s new form in Limbo. He might not want to admit it or does not openly say it but Adrian is considered a god in Limbo. In Limbo, he does not conceal his form which is why the current Adrian now in his Chaotic Limbo Form is his true body as a god.
Any lower being that gazes upon the true body of a god will lose their minds if they are not strong enough. Fortunately for the monkey beasts, Adrian’s soulbounds knocked them out as soon as they got a glance at his true form. In the end, all of the monkey beasts fainted and could not answer the question that Adrian was about to ask.
Seeing that the monkey beasts will not be able to help him with his inquiry, Adrian just proceeded with what he is supposed to do. Adrian raised his hands and two large shadowy hands emerged from the land below them which then gripped at Hanu’s soul. He then proceeded to command these hands to rip apart the soul fragment of the monkey king from the body of the demi human before him.
“I know that you can hear me, Hanu. This will hurt you more and it will only hurt you. It will be a sensation like no other because you will feel your body being torn apart. No worries though as it will not be your real body that is going to be torn apart. It will only be your soul but you will be able to recover with time.” Adrian stated as he made a pulling motion which actually ripped Hanu’s soul.
One of the shadowy hands then gripped the soul fragment that came out from Hanu’s soul. It then delivered this soul fragment to Adrian as he needed to examine it. Seeing that this soul fragment is indeed the one that contains the divine spark of the Monkey King, Adrian proceeded to fill Hanu with energy so that his soul will not get destroyed with the next pull.
Just as Adrian is about to separate the other entity from Hanu’s soul, he suddenly stopped as this small white monkey appeared before him. The small white monkey is none other than an independent monster soul and was the true carrier of the soul fragment of the monkey king. Adrian immediately knew and how Hanu transformed to the being he has now.
“A natural soul fusion! To think that such a thing is actually possible without defying the laws of life and death. The fact that Hanu is not cursed by the gods of life and death is proof that such a miraculous thing happened. Still, you should have not done what you did because you endangered your friend.” Adrian stated as he looked at the white monkey’s soul.
“Fine. I will not separate the two of you anymore. Even if I do take your soul from his soul, you will not have a physical body to inhabit because you must have sacrificed that in order to succeed with the soul fusion. It also seems that you are already cozy inside someone else’s body.” Adrian stated as he did not separate the white monkey from Hanu’s soul.
Adrian then placed Hanu’s soul back into his body which made his transformed body return back to normal. Hanu then passed out for real as the strain that he endured was not something his mind could process easily. Still, Adrian achieved what he needed from this place as he got the last fragment that he came for. The only problem is that there seems to be guests but it was not Nukeela that called them.
