The impact struck Ethan like a falling mountain.
For a brief moment the world around him seemed to explode with light and noise. The force tore through the remaining fragments of his shattered barriers and slammed directly into his body.
Ethan’s eyes widened as the overwhelming pressure crashed into him.
The next moment his figure was blasted backward through the air.
The ground below shattered as his body struck the frozen battlefield.

The impact created a deep crater in the snow covered earth. Ice and broken stone burst outward in every direction while dust and frost shot into the air like a violent storm.

The dragging marks stretched across several hundred meters.
Finally his body crashed into a cluster of broken stone boulders left from remains of the mountain side.

The layer of mountains shattered instantly under the impact.
Stone fragments rained across the snow as the entire structure collapsed around him.
For several seconds nothing moved.
The battlefield fell silent again.
Snow drifted slowly through the air while dust from the shattered ground settled gradually.
Inside the newly formed crater, Ethan lay half buried beneath broken stone and scattered ice.
A faint groan escaped his throat.

His fingers twitched slightly before his hand pushed against the ground.
Stone fragments rolled aside as he slowly forced himself upright.
Blood had appeared at the corner of his lips and a long tear ran across the shoulder of his coat where the earlier blade had cut him. The impact had clearly shaken his body and small cracks spread across parts of his armor.
Ethan wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.
Then he slowly stood up.
The cold wind blew across the battlefield again and moved his cloak slightly.
His eyes lifted toward the direction the attack had come from.
His gaze sharpened immediately.
That attack had not come from the assassin he was holding.
It had come from somewhere else.
Ethan flexed his fingers slowly while the dull ache in his chest began fading as mana circulated through his body.
“…So there’s another one,” he muttered quietly.
Several hundred meters away, the snow where he had been standing earlier was still swirling from the violent explosion.
Near the shattered watch post ruins, the assassin Ethan had been beating earlier had already crawled away and was now staggering to his feet.

A figure stepped forward.
The man wore a dark cloak and a mask that covered his entire face. His presence was strange and difficult to measure.
However the pressure around him was unmistakable.
Ethan narrowed his eyes.”You are Mythic rank, right?”
The masked man tilted his head slightly.
“Yes… you didn’t expect that?”
Ethan wiped the remaining blood from his lips and straightened his back.
“Of course not,” he replied calmly. “How can I expect myself to be worthy to be hunted by a Mythic rank?”
His gaze hardened.
“Who are you?”
“Who sent you?”
The masked man stared at him with cold eyes.
“Sorry. I can’t reveal that. After all, you are going to die.”

The moment those words finished his figure blurred.
