Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System - Chapter 1506 Spirit Brush

Chapter 1506 Spirit Brush
The moment the spirit brush was brought out, Kent shifted in his seat.
He didn’t know if this was merely a coincidence or fate doing its thing. He really didn’t care. What he wanted was the spirit brush disguised as a knife, now up for bidding.
“Our next item is an Immortal Grade Spirit Brush found in a ruin 30,000 years ago. It was rumoured to have belonged to a legendary spirit painter several million years ago.
Bidding starts at 300 million spirit stones.”
“400 million”
“500 million”
“600 million”
Bids started to fly in. Kent held back, of course, and began observing the dozens of people who seemed to be interested in the brush. They had already started to fight over it.
‘While it is not one of the Celestial Spirit Brushes, if I were to get my hands on it, I would be able to do calligraphy too, instead of merely painting,’ Kent said inwardly, watching as one bid after another was called.
In no time, the price entered the billions, and it kept climbing.
Kent could confidently say that none of them were spirit painters. However, there was no denying that a spirit brush is more than just a painting tool.
It can be used by array experts to draw runes much more easily. In fact, compared to rune knives, spirit brushes make it relatively simple to inscribe runes related to the soul.
So while they may not be spirit painters, they most certainly have uses for the spirit brush.
Unfortunately for them, Kent came to this auction specifically for that. He wanted to have it so that, aside from merely painting, he could go into calligraphy, where a single word can be invoked to manifest calamities.
“10 billion”
Soon, the bid reached 10 billion, and with that, half of the bidders dropped out. While having it would be great, learning that spirit paintings would be auctioned made them back out when the price entered a certain range.
Kent still remained calm, his focus rooted on the brush.
He knew that, aside from people buying it for formations and arrays, collectors among the bidders were also bidding over it. If they could add an antique that once belonged to a famous spirit painter, their fame would skyrocket.
It was a bit funny and silly that people would just put it on display when it could be used for so much more. There are clear uses for some of the things they put on display. However, in the end, it all boils down to whether or not they have the means to buy it.
“15 billion”
The bid was raised by 2 billion, causing many still bidding to sigh and back out. Then, soon, many left, leaving it with two. They fought for a few minutes, raising the bid to 20 billion.
That was when Kent made his move.
“21 billion”
The moment he joined, all eyes turned in his direction. Many who were in the race from the start wondered why he had waited for the two people bidding to anticipate victory before placing his bid.
It was as if he wanted to weed out the bugs before joining the race. However, with him joining the two people already bidding, the bidding started again.
The two each raised it by 500 million, soon taking the entire price pool to 22 billion. However, Kent remained calm and merely raised the bid by a billion.
“23 billion”
The other two bidders didn’t drop out and kept raising it for nearly another 10 minutes, bringing the bid to 31 billion. By then, Kent could tell one of them was planning on dropping out, so he waited for them to keep going.
When the bid entered 34 billion, the man in VIP room 23 sighed, “You win, Old Blaze. Just be sure to give me a discount when I ask for an array for my daughter.”
“Don’t worry, Old Keith, I will give you the biggest discount.”
Kent remained quiet for a few moments, then he made his true move.
“36 billion.”
The man who had just spoken, hoping to have finally won the bid, coughed a few times, his expression narrowing toward VIP room 13.
He clearly hated the idea that someone was still fighting over the brush with him. He is a demigod, one of the Lords of Snow City. However, a mere kid decided to go against him over an item he very much desired.
He is one of the most popular formation experts in the city and across the continent. As a unique world, there are many powerful people around. Among the demigods, he is one of the powerful ones.
His reputation precedes him. So he most certainly started to wonder why someone still dared to bid against him.
If not because it was against the rules to threaten someone over a bid, he would have already made Kent aware of the kind of person he was messing with.
In fact, if only both of them knew they were related somehow, perhaps the spirit brush would be the last thing they would worry about.
After all, Kent had disrespected his son about two weeks ago. When he heard it, he became furious and ordered men to search for him.
Now, in what could be termed as a coincidence, he met the brat again, and this time, it was him Kent was trying to offend.
“The price is set at 36 billion. Are there no new bids?” Lady Tilly asked, her focus turning toward the VIP room Lord Blaze was in.
She waited for a few moments before announcing Kent as the winner. Kent became a bit stunned when he was announced as the winner.
He had no idea why Lord Blaze didn’t place any more bids. Someone like him wouldn’t shy away from pulling out 100 billion spirit stones.
So if that was the case, why did he just stop? In the end, he had no reason to wonder too much since he had no idea who the redheaded man was. Of course, he suspected he would find out soon enough.
But with the spirit brush now being his, he didn’t care too much. With what he had in mind, now that he had the spirit brush, the universe would start to see his greatness.
After the brush was sold, five more items were auctioned, but Kent didn’t bother to place a bid. However, after the five items were sold, the next item brought out made Kent shift in his chair again.
Inside his soul sea, Gaap also snapped his eyes open.
“We need to get this sword.”
Both of them muttered the same sentence.
On the stage, two halves of a broken sword were put on a white cloth. Many inside the auction hall narrowed their eyes, clearly not expecting there to be a broken sword on display.
Even without saying anything, they knew such a worthless thing shouldn’t be on display for bidding. However, some changed their minds when Lady Tilly began introducing the item.
“This broken sword was donated by the Nine Bridge Sword Guild to be auctioned, believing that hidden within it is a manual containing a unique martial technique for supreme sword aura.
Nobody has ever managed to figure out how to go about it, which is why they have set the starting bid at 10 million. It may be a waste, but who knows if they were also telling the truth?”
“11 million,” Kent raised the bid after a couple of quiet seconds.
