Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System - Chapter 1507 Buying a Broken Sword

Chapter 1507 Buying a Broken Sword
There was just no way Kent could tell that the two pieces of the broken sword were valuable. In the eyes of everyone, the two swords were just two broken scraps of metal.
Just like with the map, this was also useless until he placed a bid.
Already, the people in the hall witnessed Kent’s intelligence during the incident with the map. That incident made them aware of the kind of intellect he has when it comes to profound matters.
So the moment he placed the bid, they knew he saw something in the swords.
Those who wanted to know what he saw in the sword started whispering among themselves until one of the shameless ones manned up and asked.
“Kid, you wouldn’t happen to see some value in these scraps, do you?”
Kent smiled and pointed at the sword, “It is indeed scrap, as you said. However, it is several billion years old. I only recently started my collector career, so you can say I want to buy it for my collection.
I mean, from what I know about collectors, they love collecting antiques. Since this sword is billions of years old, adding it to my collection would make it appear more genuine.
We both know some antiques don’t make sense, but we have them on display.”
Kent laughed, causing others to laugh too. They knew he made sense, speaking from a collector’s perspective. They do collect scraps that once had sentimental value.
So, hearing that he merely wants this scrap of metal for its sentimental value made them sigh.
Some of them were disappointed this time; he said nothing that would have given them a reason to act. Revealing that the treasures left behind by the famed blacksmith were inside Death Valley made them hopeful.
However, since these scraps of metal weren’t really worth anything, they could only sigh and lean back in their seats.
Inside the VIP room 3, Inaya and Ainna shook their heads and sighed too. While they expected Kent to reveal something, they knew he wouldn’t, especially if these items truly held something of value.
They were the only two people who knew his true identity. They knew what Kent was capable of, and so they believed he wouldn’t have placed a bid if the scrap of metal had no value.
“Should I spoil his fun?” Ainna asked through telepathy.
“No,” Inaya replied. “I know him, and I know that if he were to lose these swords, he would make it a thing for the next thousands of years. I have fought against him on things related to swords in the past, and so while we can indeed pull a fast one over him now, considering he is as weak as they come, let’s save ourselves some future troubles.”
“Are you afraid of him?” Ainna asked, but Inaya merely smiled.
“You can go ahead and act. Just don’t blame me when it backfires on you in the future.”
In the end, Ainna chose not to act. In her head, it wasn’t worth the trouble. She had already made provisions for Kent, so soon, there would be some fun to be had.
Nobody else placed a bid. So in the end, the sword was sold for 11 million. Kent was happy because he won the bid unopposed.
Unbeknownst to everyone present, while it was believed there was a supreme sword aura hidden in the sword, what Kent sensed was something entirely different.
He had no idea how, but just when the sword was brought out, he sensed an extreme resentment, the kind that is born from intense hatred, coming from the sword.
Maybe it was because his current sword was also born out of resentment. However, the kind he felt from the broken sword was just too potent. Gaap also felt it, and so Kent knew he had to use any means to get it.
Now, he had won the bid, and the sword was his to claim.
“Kent, do you really have to buy a broken sword?” Fallon asked, her expression filled with disbelief. “I know you said it is an antique, but from where I stand, I don’t believe that scrap of metal qualifies as an antique.”
Kent smiled and used his hand to shush her. “One thing about me, my dear, I don’t buy useless things. I bought the map for a very important reason, and now, this broken sword was also purchased with a purpose in mind.”
“So you are saying it isn’t scrap metal,”
“Oh, it is a scrap of metal. However, what is hidden within it is not. If I can repair it, I promise you, it would become the most valuable item that would have sold for hundreds of trillions.”
The ladies smiled, a bit stunned that Kent knew all these things but lied through his teeth. They would have frozen from sheer shock when questioned by demigods.
However, Kent lied to them, smiling.
“You are a mysterious person, Kent,” Vika muttered, a smile appearing on her face as she lay her head on Fallon’s shoulder.
“Ain’t no dragon like me, dear.”
Inaya and Ainna became stunned when they overheard what he revealed.
“I knew he bought the broken sword for a reason, but to think it would be worth hundreds of trillions if they knew what it cantains. That part is unexpected,” Ainna remarked, a bit regretful she hadn’t tried to bid for it.
“What are you even regretful about? It isn’t like he would keep it hidden forever. In the past, he wielded many legendary swords, and due to that, I was exposed to many mysteries of the sword world. If you stick around for a few years, I am sure you would be amazed by what he is capable of.”
Ainna chuckled and turned to look at the stage, where another item was brought out for auction. It was a Tier 24 Pill.
“The next item is a Tier 24 Heaven Defying Pill. As you all know, with this pill, you can defy the heavens once in your life. Many use it to bypass bottlenecks, and some use it to bypass tribulations.
All in all, whatever you want to defy the heavens with, this pill can easily handle it. This one also has 4 Violet Pill Rings, raising its potency by 48 times.”
Many sucked in a cold breath. However, when the starting bid was announced, they all let out weak smiles.
“We will start the bidding at 30 billion.”
Kent sat and watched as people raised the bid from the initial 30 to 300 billion. He could only shake his head and wonder just why people had to spend this much money on a single pill.
In his head, this pill should have sold for less than 200 billion. While it is good and its use is heaven-defying, the pill ring composition was just too low.
Considering it is a Tier 24 pill, it should have at least two Crimson Pill Rings and four Violet Pill Rings. So in his mind, it was a failure, but a good failure.
Five more items were auctioned after that, until finally the auction reached the two items planned to end this session: the two spirit paintings.
Since Kent offered, Lady Annette chose the Seven Pattern Butterfly painting, so they would be auctioning the Dream Illusion Flower painting and the Demon Heart Gaze.
“We are finally down to our last two items. As you are all aware, the last two items are indeed the spirit paintings. I wouldn’t want to waste anyone’s time, so why don’t we get down to business.”
The anticipation burned in the air as the first painting was revealed.
