Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System - Chapter 1516 The Decision

Chapter 1516 The Decision
The second vision saw Jest choosing to abandon Inaya for her own protection. Of course, he knew that decision would break her. However, knowing she would live at least made him choose that path.
In the end, he turned and left, leaving Inaya behind. She, of course, had no idea the person she was waiting for had decided to leave her for her own safety.
She waited for him on Planet Genesis for a few thousand years. Soon, she found out Jest had abandoned her and was seen running around with another lady.
In truth, after he left, he started looking for ways to return to her. However, no matter how hard he looked, he found no viable path to living happily ever after. The vision persisted, and the feeling inside his heart remained the same.
Even more heartbreaking, a few thousand years after he chose to leave, he discovered that because he still loved her, Inaya was somehow affected by him.
This led to her developing a heart demon of her own. And to make it even more chilling, because Inaya still loved him, her heart demon affected her cultivation, threatening to kill her.
The vision ended with Inaya actually dying when she tried to ascend to the Supreme stage. Jest tried to intervene when she found herself in mortal danger, but ended up causing her death instead.
“Just what do you want? Say it, and I will willingly do it if you promise to spare Inaya’s life.”
“And why should I do that?” the redhead asked, her mocking expression turning even more demonic. “I exist only to make your life miserable, so what makes you think letting her live will aid me in achieving my goal?”
“She has done nothing to you. You are here for me, so let her go.” Jest took a deep breath and exhaled before adding, “Even if you want me to become your slave, I will, as long as Inaya is left alone.”
For someone who had fought to earn his freedom, promising to again become a slave was the hardest decision he could ever make.
Clearly, he really meant to preserve Inaya’s life no matter the cost.
“Very noble of you. However, as I said, I am now your heart demon, so regardless of what you offer, I will achieve my goal. You can kill me now and think that will be all; however, we both know it wouldn’t end there.
In short, as long as you are alive, she will never be safe. So you only have one choice, and that is to kill yourself. As long as you are dead, I will cease to exist, which will guarantee her safety.”
Jest gritted his teeth, blood oozing from his gums. The decision he had to make now would not only determine the fate of the universe but also determine Inaya’s life.
If he killed himself, Inaya would indeed live. However, if the foreign race were to descend, there was a chance she would die along with thousands of others.
He wouldn’t be there to save her. So basically, he could not die.
However, if he chose to live, there was a chance Inaya would end up dying because of him. That was also unacceptable. However, he knew that was the only path ahead.
He could not go to her and live happily ever after to the bitter end.
He also could not kill himself and leave the universe unprotected.
Lastly, choosing to live but running the risk of causing Inaya’s death was also a bad move. In the end, there was no path ahead.
So Jest chose to make one. He rose to his feet and pointed his sword at the redhead. “You won, lady. This is your win. However, know this, one day, I will get rid of you for good.”
Without waiting for her to say anything, Jest moved and severed her head from her body. His chest tightened, and before he could raise a mental defense, the pain descended, knocking him unconscious.
He was left to drift in space for roughly 200 years. While unconscious, he had many dreams, most of which featured him as a father and a happy husband. However, at the end of every dream, it turned into a nightmare.
The dream always ended with him killing his own family.
These nightmares plagued him repeatedly for the duration of his sleep. When he woke up, his mind became numb to all kinds of pain.
He returned to Planet Genesis; however, he didn’t approach Inaya. He watched her from a distance for 30 good days before he left, never to return again.
First, he planned to sever Inaya’s feelings for him, since he could never stop loving her. He knew Inaya cultivated the Ten Emotion Sword Dao, and one of those emotions was Hatred.
If he could find a way to invoke that emotion, there was a chance she would stop loving him and instead hate him.
If that were to happen, she might develop a heart demon, but she wouldn’t die from it. In the vision, he saw Inaya try to become a Supreme simply because she wanted to become strong enough to search for him.
Be that as it may, while she was still heartbroken, a part of her kept telling her Jest wouldn’t abandon her without a tangible reason.
So she wanted to become strong to help him figure things out. However, that decision cost her her life. So, Jest sought to prevent that.
With her Dao of Hatred, she could become his greatest hater overnight. Jest only planned to end his life when the foreign race invaded fully this time.
He wanted to fight to the bitter end, so if Inaya were to hate him just long enough, he would die, leaving her with no leash hanging over her head.
In the end, Jest did the unthinkable. He sought out Inaya’s greatest enemy, and they began moving together, just as they had back when they were known as the Blood Sword Couple.
This decision had the effect he wanted. When she found out, she became furious, and while she tried hard against it, her hatred flared, severing the string of death over her head.
Jest succeeded, but at the cost of losing her forever. Thousands of years passed, and he never found a way to rid himself of his heart demon.
So he returned to his pursuit of the realm above the Supreme stage. Thousands of years later, he found a lead that led him to come face-to-face with an existence that would one day determine the fate of the entire universe.
100,000 years before the foreign race invaded, he took the next step, becoming the first Sword Celestial ever. And as he had promised, he shared the secret with everyone, hoping to see more powerful swordsmen rising alongside him.
10,000 years before the invasion, something even bigger happened. Jest gained another enlightenment, one that showed him a glimpse into the next realm.
When he saw this, he took 5,000 years to comprehend it. In the end, he succeeded in comprehending a new form of sword intent, which he called Eternal Sword Intent.
He formed seven Eternal Sword Intents and left them in seven different places to grow and one day become the doorway to the true peak he had glimpsed.
When the foreign race invaded, he fought with all he had. In the end, he died taking down the last threat that threatened Inaya and the universe at large.
