Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System - Chapter 1515 The Reason (2)

Chapter 1515 The Reason (2)
[What Truly Happened – A few years after parting ways]
Jest had just returned from the final lead he got from an anonymous source, believing it would help him reach the sword celestial stage. It turned out the lead led nowhere, so with the promise he made to Inaya, he decided to go back home and make a family with her.
It pained him that he couldn’t find a way to reach the Sword Celestial stage. However, with him doing everything he could, he knew he had no regrets now.
He had a beautiful goddess waiting for him back home, so that was something to be happy about.
Nothing, however, prepared him for who he met just when he was nearing Planet Genesis.
Before this encounter, Jest had heard stories of a being who lived in the starry skies. They claimed she was an existence even Celestials feared.
They called her the Horror of the Stars. He had heard stories about her, but he always felt they were a bit exaggerated. However, when he met her, he was inclined to believe those stories.

[Jest’s POV]
Jest was seated in a flying treasure, speeding toward the planet where Inaya was waiting for him. As he looked at the stars in the sky, a look of anticipation could be seen in his eyes.
“Inaya is going to kill me if I don’t hurry. Knowing how crazy she is, I’d better hurry.” He channeled more energy into the ship, causing it to fly much faster.
However, just when he passed by a meteorite, the void exploded open, and a lady with long, red, entangled hair appeared, attacking him without any warning.
Jest jumped from his flying ship just as the spear hurled by the redhead blasted through it, shattering it completely.
A sword appeared in his hand just in time for him to deflect a second attack. However, before he could make sense of anything, a third and fourth attacks arrived before him, causing a wave of panic to set in.
“A Celestial, huh?” he muttered, channeling a wave of supreme sword aura into his sword. He was only a Supreme, but not an ordinary one, so he didn’t panic.
He relaxed his nerve and channeled more aura into his sword.
Then, with one quick slash, thousands of swords manifested into being and started to rain down on the lady. The blinding flashes and the chilling intent in the air made the void crack and shatter.
Even a Supreme Celestial would have to be careful against such an attack.
Jest expected her to slow down, considering every last sword was imbued with Sword Supreme sword intent, but she merely formed a dome around her and started attacking him.
Soon, a day passed, but none of them seemed to be slowing down. Jest was particularly surprised by how fiercely the lady fought. It was through this ordeal that he realized the Horror of the Stars people talked about did exist, and that she was much crazier than they claimed.
However, she had to die.
After three days of intense battle, Jest finally saw it.
The only way he could get to Inaya was if this lady died. However, thinking of her death and actually doing it were two different things.
Killing her is impossible, in the short term. It would take time to get that chance.
However, he knew he had to kill her, and so he continued to clash with her, one deadly attack after another. Soon, a month passed, but the winner was far from sight.
Jest had adapted to 50% of the Horror of the Stars’ battle style. However, the longer the battle dragged on, the more he felt like he was drowning in a scheme he just couldn’t place his finger on.
Five months into the battle, Jest finally found an opening, and so he went for it.
“Genesis Sword Art – First form: Life and Death Slash,”
A deadly sword arc was carved into existence, creating a deep red line that streaked across the sky, cutting through asteroids like tofu before slamming into the crazy redhead’s body.
The impact was deadly.
Her left arm was severed, and a large wound was carved into her chest. Jest used the chance to get close and deal a deathly blow. However, just when his sword was inches away from piercing her heart, he felt it.
“AARRRRGGGHHH!”
A painful cry tore from Jest’s mouth, blood oozing from both his eyes and mouth. The attack that could have killed the lady was abandoned simply because his mind was taken over by something extremely deadly and painful.
Even more chilling, for the first time in five months, the crazy redheaded lady finally spoke…
“How does it feel, bastard? Are you in pain? Do you regret your life choices? Are you finally feeling what I felt when you killed my sister?”
Jest groaned, clenching his head. “Bitch, what the fuck are you talking about, and what the hell did you do to me?”
“What am I talking about?” She flung her head back and let out a mocking laugh. “So you don’t remember. You don’t remember lying to my sister, deceiving her to follow you, only to kill her and leave her body for the dogs to feed on.
She trusted you, believed in you, but in the end, you betrayed her, causing her death. Now, I will make you feel how you made me feel back then. The best part is, since you don’t remember, I will have the privilege of showing you what will happen to you.”
A ball of red energy appeared on her palm, oozing a malicious aura. With a wave, it flew into Jest’s forehead. At once, visions of what hadn’t happened yet filled his mind.
Inside the memories, he saw himself return to Inaya’s side, and just as they had planned, they started a family. He had two children, a boy and a girl. They named the boy Kent and the girl Artemis.
He saw them grow, with both taking after them. In no time, they became adults and potential powerhouses of the universe.
However, one fateful day, he woke up expecting it to be lively and full of joy, as always. But he was instead greeted with bloody hands and the headless bodies of his wife and two children.
This sight caused Jest to let out a painful cry, one that shook the very fabric of the universe.
“That is right. Scream, because that is the only thing you can do.”
A tear fell from Jest’s eye as he gazed furiously at the lady. “What do you want from me?”
“Nothing. I just want to see despair in your eyes when I tell you this. I am now your heart demon. I cannot be killed, and I most certainly will not harm you in any way.
However, I will remain in your heart and wait for you to make a happy family. I will watch them grow, and just when you are at the peak of happiness, I will take over and kill them with your own two hands.
I will make sure they suffer and die hating you. Only then will I be satisfied.”
Jest gritted his teeth, his tears flowing. He could feel it deep within his soul. He had indeed developed a heart demon, and so he knew what he saw had a possibility of coming to pass.
He would have a happy family and be blessed with the greatest joy in the universe. However, one day, even if he guarded against it, his heart demon would awaken, and he would slaughter his own family without any resistance.
He saw it, and he could feel deep within that it would happen. He didn’t know how, but he knew it would happen.
His mind spun frantically, searching for a solution. However, even after an hour, he found none. So he went ahead and played the second vision.
