Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 914: Whip

Capítulo 914: Whip
Rael saw that a faint barrier formed around the area, not allowing either of them to go past a certain limit. That limit, of course, was where the weapons ended.
Thankfully though, the selection of weapons was vast, but Rael wasn’t sure what he wanted. The sword or the bow were the obvious choices, but then there was something else that kind of caught Rael’s attention.
A whip.
How fun would that be?
Whipping your opponents to death, or trapping them and then just staring at them until they died…
Wow.
Rael really was a genius.
And like the genius that he was, Rael went ahead and chose the whip.
When he glanced back at the burly man, Rael was surprised to see that he had picked out some kind of halberd. It looked really menacing from afar, and he was sure it would look even more intimidating up close.
But then again, Rael had far too many abilities that would allow him to counter something like that.
Not to mention, he also had a passive ability from his Supreme Beast inheritance that allowed him to essentially master every weapon he placed his hand on. So even though he had never wielded a whip before, Rael now had an array of techniques in the back of his mind, ready to use them at a moment’s notice.
Though for some reason, most of these whip combat techniques focused on masochism. None of them actually dealt damage. Was this some kind of joke?
Well…
Rael would find out right away.
He took a few steps forward, then ran around in place. It really was strange being so weak again, but it wasn’t like his body couldn’t adjust to something like this. It only took two seconds to adjust, and when he glanced ahead, he realized that the bulky man had also been trying his best to adjust.
Except unlike Rael, who did it in place, this man was in the middle of running toward Rael. On that note, Rael’s eyes never actually left the man’s figure, which allowed for quite the fun little gamble.
-5%
-5%
-5%
Every second that passed, 5% of the burly man’s HP was gone, and when he finally arrived before Rael, he only had 55% of his HP left.
Though he didn’t seem to realize it as he went ahead and stomped his feet into the ground and, with all of his might, he screamed and swung his halberd down at Rael, who barely even bat an eye.
All he did was just raise his whip upwards, focus on his Parry ability, and then trigger it at the same instant the man’s halberd struck his whip. Rael was honestly expecting something minor to happen, but for some godforsaken reason…
“AAAAAAH!”
-55%!
The halberd bounced back and embedded itself in the middle of the man’s forehead. Rael just stared at the sight for a few moments, and then sighed. It seemed like the Parry ability worked especially well against weaker people, since their attacks would get rebounded back at them.
Maybe there was some other way Rael could use it, but as it stood, he felt like climbing the ladder and getting stronger in this PvP arena would be pretty damn easy, at least for the foreseeable future.

I wonder if there’ll be anyone who could challenge me here? Well, either way, I want to have my fun with the whip, so I just need to get my ass out of this shitty rank.
With those thoughts, a few pop-ups appeared in front of Rael once more.
Rael Sutekh
1 Wins 0 Losses
Estimated Rank: Iron 3
Iron 3, huh.
If Rael had to guess, the ranks went from Iron 5 to Iron 1, and then to the next major rank. He didn’t know how many there were, but at this rate, he would be able to blitz past them very, very fast.
Rael’s vision faded, and before long, he found himself back in the same waiting room as earlier. Except now, atop the couch, there was one floating golden trophy with the number 1 on it.
He wasn’t that old, to the point that he couldn’t recognize that this golden trophy represented his current win streak. He just wondered if the surroundings would change according to his win streak. So far, there was nothing, but it would be really interesting if he could get a cool dining area or whatever.
Well…
It was fine.
Rael was happy with just this for the time being, and instead, he went ahead and began queueing for the next match right away.
“That was even faster than before…”
Jeez.
Rael should’ve taken a bit more notice of just how many pods there were in this place. If he had to guess, the number was way up in the thousands. Maybe in the 25,000 range? There was a big chance it was even higher.
He’d just have to ask Melissa and Altros afterwards.
Humming to himself, Rael went ahead and entered the arena. Just this time, the opponent was already waiting for him. It was a woman, and from the looks of things, she was pretty fit.
The only thing he didn’t really like about her was the fact that she stared at him like he was some kind of candy. Sure, he was attractive, but eye-fucking him like this didn’t make him feel any better about himself.
Still, like the kind lad that Rael was, he went ahead and picked up the whip before making himself comfortable and waiting for the match to start.
On the other hand, the woman went ahead and picked a sword.
It didn’t seem like she knew how to wield it though, but eh… It was only Iron.
How hard could this rank be?
