Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 961: Relaxing

Rael tensed up a little, waiting for some kind of plot twist to happen. However, there was nothing. No one came from the sky, nor did a single strand of mana escape this man’s body.
If he was a scout or bait, he was really, really good at his job. Though, that seemed to not be the case, as Ren just stared at him and let out a sigh.
“Did you really expect me to not take precautions? You believe I would bring you into this realm in your true body? No. This is just the manifestation of your soul. Your soul that has been stripped of 99% of its power. You can only speak. You cannot do anything else,” Ren said coldly.
It did seem very cruel, but then again, if someone was protecting a whole realm from collapsing, then this was the least they could do. Rael admired Ren because of that, since that just meant he was much more emotional than he had initially let on.
So naturally, with the revelation of what was actually going on having crossed the prisoner’s mind, he immediately tried to wipe his mind, only to be stopped mid-way, his soul being ripped apart as miniature particles of mana spread throughout the whole area.
Whenever Rael focused his mind on one of those particles, he heard a scream. Though, maybe it was more of a screech than a scream, perhaps the final cry of the man who had been killed.
Finally, Ren decimated the last of his body and turned to Rael.
“You may go now.”
Rael raised a brow. “Don’t you need some of his memories?”
Ren shook his head. “I thought I did, but I don’t. Odds are, they already know of our tricks, so I’ll only call upon you whenever I capture someone higher up.”
“…Isn’t it better to be safe than sorry?” Rael asked.
But almost like that ticked Ren off, he simply snapped his fingers, causing Rael, Gaia, and Nyx to abruptly vanish, reappearing in Celestara, right next to their home.
He just stared into nothingness for a moment, then let out a sigh.
“Looks like I really did manage to piss him off.”
“It seems like he might be stressed,” Gaia said matter-of-factly. “I’d say count it as a blessing. You’ll have less work now.”
Rael shrugged. “I hope so. Though, those people are definitely going to be a pain in the ass for me, I know that much.”
For a moment, no one said anything. That was when Nyx chimed in, addressing the obvious.
“You don’t seem that phased considering you read the memories of every single being that was just like you.”
“Not every single one of them. Only the beings that existed after the Akashic Records came into being,” Rael affirmed. “But no, I’m not phased. Rather than not caring, it’s more like I finally found closure. Obviously, I still don’t know how all of this started, but I get the feeling that I don’t really need to find out.”
Maybe one day.
But it wasn’t his top priority anymore. It wasn’t even his second or third priority. If anything, his necessity to find out the truth had pretty much gone to the back of his mind now. Rael was sure that might change if he randomly got some clues about his past, but until then, he planned on living his life to the fullest.
And for starters, he wanted to get rid of this faction that was going against the Concepts, since if there was no one to interrogate, that also meant there was no more work.
“Where do you think this faction is located?” Rael asked with a hum.
Gaia immediately frowned. “You’re not going out there. You have non-stop been messing around. You need a break. And if you refuse, I’m going to force you to have a break.”
Oof.
“What kind of break?” He turned to look at her, then glanced past her, noticing a ship descending from the sky, and two women stepping out. Those women being Zafira and Lilith.
For some reason, their hair was black, obviously wigs… But they also had eye patches, as if they were trying to embody the pirate mentality.
Whatever stupidity they were doing, Rael thought of maybe joining them.
But as he was about to do that, Gaia grabbed his cheek and made him look at her straight in the eyes.
“You’re taking a break from doing anything. We’re going into your home theater and watching movies. As for food, Nyx and I will prepare something.”
“Ah…” Rael stared at her in disbelief. “I didn’t expect to be manhandled today, but sheesh. Go for it. I get to pick the movies though.”
Without listening to his complaints and preferences, the two women dragged him into the theater room and plopped him down onto one of the more comfortable chairs.
Zafira and Lilith were naturally curious about what was happening, so they asked around, being told everything by Gaia. They planned on chiming in as well for the fun of it, but Gaia didn’t want this to turn into some orgy, so she told those two to go do something better.
And since they weren’t that petty or hateful, they went back outside and began packing more stuff into the ship. Melina was also there, but she was like the bored captain type. Rael was sure she wasn’t like that in the Depths.
But oh well… Rael stopped paying attention to them and actually started to relax in his seat, sorting through the movies and TV series, until finally, he found something he liked.
Before starting it though, Rael decided to wait for the food to arrive. Also… He could still feel Altros and Melissa in his home. The ones from Yggdrasil… He was surprised they were still not out of it, but it seemed like the damage he had dealt was severe.
Still, if they woke up and caused trouble, Rael would deal with them. Until then, Rael wanted to do a little something he had forgotten.
And that was to reach out to Karina.
