Chapter 2135: More and more gathering

It was an intense flash of golden light that made it hard for us to look outside to see what was happening.

Once that flash of golden light stopped, we were able to see the results of what happened.

The golden barrier that had been around the capital had expanded all of a sudden and it had pushed away all of the corruption energy monsters that had gathered. Only this time, it seemed like it wasn’t just pushing those corruption energy monsters away.

There were traces of corruption energy monsters that were scattered all over from the force of being pushed by the golden barrier.

It seemed like the golden barrier had gained the ability to attack when it was pushed out with this force from the expansion. None of the corruption energy monsters that had been in its path were able to resist at all.

It really was like seeing the result of a bulldozer clearing a path.

After this was done, the small dragon turned around to look at us as if it was looking for praise.

However, I didn’t really have any praise for it since I could see that it had exerted itself.

Not only did the small dragon exert itself, it seemed like the small dragon had also exerted Arthur’s power to a certain extent with the way that he was breathing a bit faster.

It only made sense that there would be this reaction from him since the two of them were connected.

The small dragon’s power was Arthur’s power, so it was only natural that Arthur would also be affected by the small dragon using that power. It was also why the small dragon had turned around to look at Arthur as if it was asking for his permission.

The two of them shared this power, something that the small dragon was aware of.

“Alright, that’s enough.”

The small dragon looked surprised when I said this, but it did follow my orders as it pulled back the golden barrier that it had deployed. The barrier returned to its normal size and just covered the area around the capital.

Once it had withdrawn the barrier, I asked it, “How long can you maintain this?”

The small dragon tilted its head once more as if it was thinking about it before shaking its head.

It wasn’t saying that it wasn’t able to hold it for long, it was saying that it didn’t know how long it would be able to hold it.

It seemed like this small dragon was much stronger than I thought it was, though that should have been evident with how it had pushed back all of those corruption energy monsters just now.

Still, I couldn’t help wondering just where the power of this small dragon came from.

Or rather, it was better to say where Arthur’s power came from since this small dragon’s power came from Arthur.

If it came from me, it didn’t make sense at all since I certainly wouldn’t have been powerful enough to do something like this.

It would only make sense if Arthur had received some kind of blessing that I didn’t know about.

For now, the only thing that we were certain of was that the barrier around the capital would hold. It seemed like we would be able to hold out for some time with this barrier protecting the capital.

The problem was that there were more corruption energy monsters gathering and it seemed like there was an endless amount of them coming.

I remembered what I saw while I was on Joan’s back flying to the capital city.

I knew that there were plenty more that were coming since they not only came from the Kite Kingdom’s territory, but even across the border from the surrounding countries. It wasn’t as if those countries would be able to stop a horde of this size.

Though it wasn’t as if we didn’t know why they were gathering like this.

Now that the matter of the barrier had been solved, I asked, “Is she in a safe place?”

They didn’t even need to ask me who I was asking about before answering.

All of them nodded to show that Dorothy had already been escorted to a safe place a long time ago.

Since none of the god’s messengers were with us, it was clear that they had all been sent to guard her just in case.

In that case, the only thing that we had to do now was to hold out for as long as possible.

It was impossible for the forces of Destruction to have endless forces even if it seemed that way. With the way that all of them were gathering here, it would only be a matter of time before the other countries of the racial alliance would be able to break free of their situations and send help.

So all we had to do was hold on until then.

With the barrier that wrapped around the capital, it really seemed like we had a good chance of accomplishing this.

Only there was no telling what kind of things would change during this time.

The forces of Destruction had clearly pulled out a lot of their preparations in this conflict with how many corruption energy monsters there were. So there was no telling what other kind of hidden cards they would use.

“Make sure that everyone is alert and focused. We can’t let a single gap appear in the defenses.”

The ministers and generals naturally knew that already, so they all nodded to show that they understood before heading off to go to their positions.

All of them were ready for what was about to come, even if it meant sacrificing their lives.

Only as I watched how many corruption energy monsters gathered, it really felt like there was something wrong.

After all, all of the gaps that had been created seemed like they were filled by the corruption energy monsters that appeared.

Not only that, it seemed like there were more and more that were gathering.
