Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2146: Feeling regret

Chapter 2146: Feeling regret
As more and more buildings started appearing, it also seemed like there were different kinds of buildings that appeared.
Before, there were mainly residential buildings that were in the area with a few different buildings that looked like shops scattered in between them.
Though from the rubble alone, it wasn’t as if this was something that was easy to figure out.
With the passage of time, all things faded away.
Even with more buildings around us, it was the same thing where everything inside had already been ground to dust. There wasn’t anything that we could do to change the fact that everything that had been here was gone now.
All that we could do was continue looking for any signs of anything here that might tell us more about this place.
Though there was still one thing that could be found.
“Isn’t this a bit excessive?”
That was the only thing that I could say when I saw all of the statues that we had gathered. It wasn’t just one or two statues that were here, there were countless statues that had survived the tides of time.
It wasn’t even just one or two statues in each house, there were many that had more than five different statues scattered around the house. It was as if they wanted to decorate every single room in the house with these statues of Solista.
The way that they acted made the ancient civilization that once lived here seem like fanatical worshipers of Solista.
There was even a part of me that wondered if this place was some kind of precursor to the Holy Empire.
“If only it was, it would be much easier to find our way back.”
The status of the Kite Kingdom was something that I was trying to keep out of my mind since it wasn’t as if there was anything that I could do about right now. However, it really was hard to keep it out of my mind when I knew that it might all be destroyed when I got back.
After all, it wasn’t as if War would just leave the Kite Kingdom alone…
But for now, the only thing that I could do was keep this out of my mind and continue moving forward.
It took a while, but we were finally able to find buildings that weren’t residential buildings anymore. These were buildings that seemed to serve a purpose and it seemed like it was a purpose other than providing goods.
“So they were a civilization that was advanced enough to even think about amusement. This must have been a civilization that was much more advanced than most other civilizations in this world.”
After all, even the Kite Kingdom wasn’t at that level yet.
This world was a medieval fantasy world, so it was quite harsh for normal people.
Other than a few taverns, there really weren’t many places for people to blow off steam.
But even with the decay of time, it was clear that these places were buildings that were supposed to provide entertainment other than drinking. There was even a place that seemed like a playground for children.
Most of all, I could recognize some of the technology that used to be here.
“It seems like they were even able to harness electricity…”
Though when I saw these clues, there was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling a bit of regret over this.
Even if I came from a world that was much more technologically advanced than this fantasy medieval world, that didn’t mean that I was someone that had a deep understanding of this.
I was just a normal person in my past life, so I wasn’t able to see through all of the things that I found buried here.
I could recognize a wire or two, but what they did when they were put together…
“If only I had studied a bit more…”
Perhaps this might have been a clue to finding a way out of this place.
Only there was no point in crying over spilt milk, there was nothing that could be done if I didn’t know what these things were.
The only thing that this did confirm was that this ancient civilization was much more advanced than the current civilization that lived on this continent.
This was usually the setting in games like this, but I could tell that this was a bit different.
Now that I was a part of this world, I knew that the reason why this ancient civilization was destroyed in the first place was all because of the war between gods. Though it wasn’t directly confirmed, it was easy to guess since there were statues of Solista all over the place.
“Maybe there might be survivors among those that live on the continent now, but it’s unlikely that they would know anything about the past. The most that they would know is just a few stories that were passed down from ancient times.”
Still, without knowing anything about the civilization that once lived here, it was hard to tell which race they might be living amongst right now.
As I was lost in thought, Lupus suddenly called for me.
I went over to see that there was a structure that was completely different from the ones that we had seen so far.
But the moment that I saw this structure, I immediately moved to head into it.
After all, this was a church.
It was completely different from anything else that we had found so far because it was connected to the gods and there was the fact that the statues of Solista were the only things left.
If there was some way to connect to the gods through this church, then we might even be able to find a way out of this place.
Only the moment that I opened the door, a disappointed look appeared on my face.
“It seems like this place isn’t protected by the same thing as the statues.”
