Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2151: A trail of light

Chapter 2151: A trail of light
Seeing as how we weren’t able to figure anything out by standing out here, I pushed open the door.
The moment that the door opened, it felt like there was something that flew past us.
I knew that it wasn’t divine energy, but I couldn’t tell what it was exactly.
It just felt like there was something that had been in this temple that had been keeping it in this state the entire time. Now that it had been open, it almost felt like this temple was no longer frozen in time like this.
This was a very strange feeling, but I didn’t know what to say about it.
Which was why I turned my attention to the large statue of Solista that was on the other side of the church.
This statue was bigger than any other statue that we’ve seen previously and this time, I could feel the divine energy coming from it. Feeling this even gave me a sense of relief since it meant that I would be able to form a connection in this place.
It seemed like there was the presence of the gods in this temple.
That was why I walked up to the statue of Solista and leaned forward in front of it to pray. I even reached my hand out to touch the statue as I did this.
When my hand made contact with the statue, I could feel the divine energy that was inside of it.
That was why I also released my divine energy in an attempt to make a connection.
It was just that no matter what I did, it didn’t feel like there was anyone that was answering the call that I was sending out.
“I know that you’re there.” I said after a long silence.
After all, I could feel the divine energy that was coming from the statue and how it connected to the divine energy I released. This divine energy was from the Mark of God, which came from Solista.
So the fact that they were connected meant that this was without a doubt Solista that was on the other side.
It was just that she seemed to be ignoring me…
“Answer me.” I said in a more forceful voice when there was still no response that came.
But it didn’t seem to matter what I did as there wasn’t a single sign at all.
With how this went, it was as if the gods had completely abandoned me even though I still had the Mark of God on my hand.
“Is this really how you’re going to treat me? After everything that I’ve done, you’re just going to ignore me like this?” A trace of indignation filled my voice as I said this.
There was already a part of me that had suspected that something like this would happen eventually, especially after I saw everything that the God of Creation had shown me.
I was nothing more than a scapegoat for whatever they were planning to do, so it was inevitable that they would abandon me like this…
As these thoughts filled my head, there was a trace of anger that filled my heart as well.
There was no one that liked being used and abandoned like this after all.
But what was I supposed to do?
“Click.”
Before I could sink even deeper into the despair that I felt, the lights suddenly cut out.
It wasn’t that all of the lights had cut out, it was just that most of the lights were gone.
“Is this supposed to be a path?” I asked when I saw the lights that remained.
The way that they illuminated the area beneath them, it really seemed like they were creating a path for me.
But instead of creating a path, I would have preferred if they directly talked to me.
This kind of sign was not the kind of sign that I wanted.
Especially since it created a path that was leading out of the temple.
The way that the path was laid out for me, it was as if whoever had created this path was telling me to get out of here.
“Is this all that you have to say?” I asked out loud, but once again there was no response that followed.
The anger that I felt became even stronger when I saw that there was no answer, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that I could do since I couldn’t reach the gods that were hiding outside of the mortal realm.
“If this is how you’re treating me…” I muttered under my breath when there was nothing else that I could do.
Lupus and Joan looked at me with worried looks, but I just said, “Let’s find another way out of this place.”
Joan nodded in agreement, but Lupus looked at me as if she was trying to convince me of something.
I knew exactly what Lupus was thinking because of the bond that we shared, but it wasn’t something that I wanted to do.
“Fine, I’ll follow the path.” I said in the end when Lupus wouldn’t stop looking at me like that.
I didn’t believe that there was anything for me at the end of this path, but it really didn’t seem like Lupus was going to drop this matter.
When we came out of the temple, I found that there were more lights leading the way.
These were lights from the surrounding buildings that all seemed to create a single path for us to follow. It was clear that whoever had turned on these lights to create this path really wanted to guide us somewhere.
It was just that I didn’t feel that good about where these lights were going to lead us.
After all, it didn’t feel like the gods were on our side at this point.
“I know, I’ll see where it leads.” I said to Lupus when I saw the way that she looked at me.
Only I really wasn’t expecting anything from this.
