Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2150: This can’t be…

Chapter 2150: This can’t be…
In the end, I held myself back.
“Forget about this place, let’s keep going to the main church.”
Lupus and Joan looked at me with confused looks when they heard this, but I didn’t say anything as I turned around to leave this lobby.
From the outside, I could already see that this place was more than thirty stories high.
It would take a long time to explore it and that was if we were able to make it up to the different floors. There was no telling if the stairs that led upwards were still even intact enough for us to step on.
While we could jump on or fly up on Lupus or Joan, it was dangerous since we couldn’t see what would be hiding there.
Though the one thing that did catch my eyes was something that was on the side of the lobby.
From the way that wire dangled down, it seemed like this was some kind of elevator.
They really had been quite the advanced civilization to even have something like this.
Though other than the wire, there was nothing else left of the elevator, so it wasn’t as if they were advanced enough to create indestructible things.
Once we came out of the building, I had Lupus lead the way once more.
When it looked like she was being cautious, I said to her, “Don’t worry and just keep going forward. If anything shows up, I’ll take care of it.”
Lupus was surprised to hear me say this, but I didn’t care how she looked at me.
Right now, there was only one thing that I wanted to find.
It didn’t seem like she wanted to follow this order at first, but eventually it seemed like Lupus turned off her mind and led the way. She even had me get on her back so we could move even faster.
We moved right in between the large and tall buildings around us, making our way to what seemed to be the center of this city. Though as we came closer, there were buildings that seemed to be smaller than the large skyscrapers.
This was also the case in my past life and I couldn’t help revealing a bitter smile seeing this.
“It seems like no matter how a society develops, eventually it all comes to owning the most exclusive spaces for those at the top.”
After all, these were clearly some kind of special manor for the rich and powerful of this ancient society.
But seeing this was also a sign that we were getting closer to the core of this ancient civilization. If this was where the rich and powerful lived, then it was also where they kept the most valuable things.
All of a sudden, Lupus stopped running.
I didn’t need to say anything since I could see the reason why she stopped running with my own eyes.
This was a large temple that was right in front of us.
It was similar to the other temples, but the sheer size of this temple was more than enough to convey what was different about it. This was the main temple of the religion that all of the other temples followed.
This was the place where the core people of that religion gathered.
As well, the fact that this temple was in a place where the rich and powerful people were meant that this was a place that catered to the rich and powerful.
“So in the end, this society was another tiered society. In the end, it doesn’t seem like any race can break away from that development trend.” I couldn’t help thinking to myself, but I chose not to share this.
Since the main temple was right in front of us, there was nothing else that needed to be said.
“Let’s go in and see if we can find anything.”
Lupus and Joan had worried looks on their faces, but they didn’t say anything as they followed me.
When we approached the temple, the same thing happened where there were lights that suddenly appeared.
If there were motion sensor lights for the large skyscrapers, it would only make sense that there was the same in this temple. But not only that, it seemed like the lights here were more special compared to the ones from before.
These were lights that served a special purpose as they didn’t give off the same kind of light.
This light was gentle and warm, unlike the normal lights that the building possessed.
“It’s designed in a way to make it seem holy in a way.” I couldn’t help saying as I felt the light shining down on me.
If I was someone that believed that kind of stuff, I certainly would have been fooled by these lights.
A civilization that could do something like this was no doubt more technologically advanced than even the previous world that I came from.
Which was a strange thought since that previous world had created the game that this world was based on.
Since there were lights, it was easy for us to find what we were looking for.
Only when we peeked in from the windows beside the door, we couldn’t help being surprised.
“This can’t be, this place is…”
I pushed open the door in a rush as I said this, but it didn’t change the sight that was in front of me.
After all, this church was in perfect condition.
It was different from any other building that we had seen previously as it looked like there was something that was maintaining it.
“It has to be divine energy, right?” I asked out loud, but neither Lupus or Joan had an answer for me.
I cared more about Lupus’ answer since she had an ability that led us here in the first place.
But Lupus couldn’t seem to find a trace of divine energy with the look that was on her face.
So did that mean that it wasn’t divine energy maintaining this temple?
