Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2167: Strange usage

Chapter 2167: Strange usage
It was slow at first since we didn’t know what we would need, but eventually we were able to pick up the pace.
That was because we had figured out how to delegate tasks to each other, so we formed a proper chain as we brought the lights over.
It was Joan and Lupus that focused on gathering the lights that were outside and during the process of transporting it over, they also cracked these lights open. Once the lights were brought over to me, that was when I took out the parts that formed the batteries and repaired them.
We gathered more and more of these batteries until this building had gone completely dim.
Even then, we didn’t stop gathering more lights from the surrounding buildings.
After all, the batteries were only so big and the ones that were from this building alone weren’t enough to cover the portal.
To be safe, I was planning on completely covering the portal with the batteries since I had no idea how much energy it would take to power it. I didn’t think that it would be a small amount since this was a portal that would be able to send people to places.
As such, it was better to have as many batteries as possible.
But after a while, we did gather enough that we were able to double coat the portal.
During the process of gathering batteries, I had tested a few of the batteries and found that they were able to share a power source if they were brought together. If the batteries were touching each other, they combined into a single power source.
So even if we triple or quadruple layered the portal, it still would have worked.
Even if we had put a hundred layers of batteries around it, it still would have worked.
Though that certainly would have been a bit overkill, not to mention that something like that would take a long time to do. We didn’t mind spending a bit extra time, but it wasn’t as if we wanted to spend that much time here.
I already had no idea how long we had taken to fix the portal and I didn’t want to waste more time here.
Even if I couldn’t save the Kite Kingdom anymore, it wasn’t as if I wanted to see the entire continent fall.
Though it was that I didn’t want to lose the chance to take revenge more than anything else.
Once we had finished double coating the portal, it seemed like it was ready to go.
Though there was still one thing that bothered us.
“How do we operate this thing?”
We had fixed it and we had powered it, but we had no idea just how to start it or set the coordinates for the transfer.
With a few of the batteries that were left over and the glue that I created with my creation divine energy, this room was quite well lit and we could see everything about this portal.
Even so, I wasn’t able to figure out how to work this thing.
As I was about to try kicking it, I found that there was something that appeared.
I didn’t have to pray this time for this thing to appear.
“You want me to look at this part of it?” I asked even though it was just a glow that had appeared on the portal.
But to my surprise, it actually shimmered as if it was answering this question.
So I took away the battery that was glued to that spot and found that the light was telling me to tap on the portal.
When I did, there was this screen that appeared.
This didn’t appear before, but it seemed like it was taking in the power that the batteries provided and turned on. It meant that the portal was working now that it had absorbed the power from the batteries.
It was just that I had no idea what I was doing.
“What language is this?”
The main reason that I didn’t understand a single thing was that the language that was being used for the display was one that I was completely unfamiliar with.
It would only make sense that an ancient civilization would have their language, but this was a problem since I didn’t know what to do. The only thing that I was certain of was that there was something that was needed to be inputted to activate this portal.
Only I had no idea what to type into this thing.
In the end, it turned out that this wasn’t a problem.
Since Solista had chosen to get involved, it seemed like she was going to help me until the end.
The same light that had appeared before appeared once more as it lit up certain spots on the display that appeared. It seemed like it was telling me to press those spots and input something.
I couldn’t help hesitating for a moment when I saw this, but the fact of the matter was that there was nothing that I could do. Since I couldn’t read what I was inputting, I had no choice but to trust that Solista was leading me to do the right thing.
Taking a deep breath, I started pressing the buttons the way that Solista wanted me to when she guided me with the light.
As the images appeared on the screen, the only thing that I could think was, “Yep, I don’t understand a single thing.”
I thought that there would at least be numbers that I could understand, but there was nothing at all that was here.
But after pressing the last button, the portal suddenly lit up.
It seemed like it would lead us to where we wanted to go, but I couldn’t help feeling a bit hesitant seeing this.
“Let’s go.” I said with a deep breath in the end.
Lupus and Joan both nodded in agreement before they came over to my side so we could walk through the portal together.
