Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2166: Breaking and fixing

Chapter 2166: Breaking and fixing
None of us could do anything since we had no idea what we were even supposed to do.
From what we could see, it seemed like the portal had been fixed.
However, the problem now was getting it to activate and that wasn’t possible without powering it up.
Even before considering how we would provide power to this thing, the more important thing was thinking about what kind of power this portal even took.
So both Lupus and I looked carefully at this ring as we tried to find any clues at all.
Lupus did look at me as if she was asking me to do something with my creation divine energy, but it wasn’t possible this time since I had no idea what I would even be doing with the creation divine energy.
Not to mention that there was no base at all when it came to this power supply.
So even if I wanted to, I knew that it would take far more divine energy than when I used the creation divine energy to fix the portal.
If I wasn’t careful, I might really be completely drained dry by trying something like this.
It wasn’t something that I could do unless it really was a desperate situation.
Instead of looking at the portal, I started turning my attention to the surrounding area.
From what I knew, there should be some kind of wire that would be providing the power to the portal. Based on what I had seen, the technology that the ancient civilization used was similar to the technology of my past life.
So there should be these similarities between them.
If I wanted to find the power source, I should look for some kind of connection to the portal.
The place that it seemed most likely to be was…
“Nothing at all.” I said after moving the rubble away.
I had been hoping that there would be some kind of outlet or something where the things holding up the portal would be, but there were no traces of that. Or if there were, I just couldn’t see it at all.
So that was why I went outside and looked at the lights above us as a thought formed in my mind.
“Can you get those down?” I asked Lupus and Joan.
Though this building was small, the room itself was quite tall. So that was why I asked the two of them to get the light down from above us.
The two of them looked surprised and confused to hear this, but they went up to check the light as I requested. It didn’t take them long to break a few of the lights and bring them down for me.
What surprised me was that these lights didn’t actually go out even though they had been removed from the ceiling.
“Is there some kind of remote power source?”
That was the only thing that I could think of when I saw the lights not going out like this.
Then after thinking about it, I took one of the lights and smashed it on the ground.
After smashing it, there was a wry smile that appeared on my face.
Even though I had smashed it on the ground, the light had left a large hole in the ground without taking much damage. This light was much stronger than it seemed, so much so that it was able to make this large dent in the ground.
“Can you destroy it for me?” I asked Lupus and Joan, to which they looked at me with strange looks.
But in the end, Joan came forward to rip it apart for me with her claws.
It took her a few tries, but she was able to rip it apart in the end.
Though from the way that she rubbed her claws, it seemed like it had been painful for her to break it.
This thing really was tough if it was even able to hurt her claws, especially since I saw that she had enhanced them with divine energy when she cut the light.
As the light was being split, I could see that it had continued glowing up to a certain point. From that, I was able to pinpoint exactly where it was getting power from.
Looking at it, I pulled the two parts out and then used my divine energy on it.
It didn’t seem like it drew that much energy even though I had no idea what this thing was. In the end, I was able to bring this thing back together, but it didn’t seem like it had any power left.
That was until I brought it over to the light.
As soon as it made contact with the light, it seemed to power it as the light came on. Even though the light had been split in half, the half that I touched it to was still able to release light.
“So it’s contact based energy transfer…but the energy should have been released when Joan cut it in half like this. That is unless this thing has some kind of self charging feature to it…”
The more that I muttered to myself, the more amazed I was at the technology of this ancient civilization.
They were even able to create something like this, so it was hard to imagine just how advanced they had been at their peak.
Only this wasn’t the time to be thinking about this.
Turning back to Lupus and Joan, I said, “Can you get me more of this thing?”
The two of them were surprised, but it wasn’t as if they didn’t understand why I was asking this.
Just a single battery alone wouldn’t be enough to power up the portal.
It was one thing being able to power a light that gave off this bit of illumination, but it was completely different when it came to operating a portal.
Ripping open space time wasn’t that easy after all.
So if we wanted to use the portal, we really needed a bunch of these batteries.
