One moment, he had been standing there in front of me.

The next, he suddenly disappeared without a trace.

Even with my heightened senses, I had no idea where Alidus disappeared to.

It was as if he vanished into thin air with how he disappeared like that.

It was a good thing that I had the domain around me, or who knows what would have happened.

Because I had the domain around me, I was able to feel when his domain smashed into mine and was able to put up my defenses. Though the defense that I put up was something that was done in the general direction.

Even though I felt his domain, I didn’t actually know where Alidus was since I couldn’t keep up with his speed.

After the clash, I could tell that several of the weapons that I summoned to block the attack had been shattered. The force that came with the swing was much stronger than anything that Alidus had shown before.

However, I also knew that it wasn’t just the speed alone of the swing that made it strong.

“I know that his domain buffs his physical capabilities, but does it really buff it by that much?”

I honestly hadn’t been expecting much from Alidus, but I had been proven wrong with just this single swing.

After blocking that swing, I could feel that domain of his pulling away.

There were a few daggers that appeared that I shot out in the direction of that sensation, but there was nothing that hit. He had disappeared before the daggers could even leave the range of my domain.

Without that sensation, I really had no idea where Alidus was.

After a few seconds, there was another strike and it seemed to come from the same spot.

Normally one would think of striking a different spot and it was even expected by the one that was being attacked. Which was why it caught me off guard a bit when he attacked the same spot.

“He knows that I don’t expect it.” I said with a wry smile.

But in the end, I was able to block it since my domain relied on speed in the first place.

Once bitten twice shy.

I knew that since I couldn’t keep up with his speed, the only thing that I could do was try to keep track of him with his domain. The only way to sense him was to react to the moment that his domain clashed with mine.

So that was why I released my domain as wide as I could.

At this point, the only thing that I could do was use the domain as a kind of sensor against Alidus.

With the domain forming this kind of early warning system, I was at least able to react to every single one of Alidus’ attacks even if my eyes couldn’t keep up.

Though as time passed, I could tell that it was getting faster and faster.

It was as if even now during battle, he was still evolving the powers of his domain and taking it to the next level.

But that didn’t mean that I wasn’t evolving either.

Since I knew that the only thing that could be done was to create a sensor to track him, I made sure to create a proper defense network. There were weapons that were scattered all around me inside of my domain, ready to act at a moment’s notice.

These weapons were different from the ones that I had created previously.

These weapons were actually stronger than the ones that were created at a whim.

Though they lost the speed of being able to appear instantly, they certainly gained enough strength that they weren’t cracked when Alidus attacked.

With this net, I was able to stop all of the different attacks that came at me from different directions.

For a while, Alidus continued to attack even though all of his attacks were stopped.

But eventually, he came to a stop in front of me since he knew that he couldn’t break through the net.

There was a wry smile on his face when he suddenly appeared, but I felt like that should have been the expression on my face. After all, I hadn’t really expected anything from Alidus to begin with and he had completely proven me wrong.

“You could at least let one of the attacks go through.” He complained after showing himself.

“How did you suddenly become this fast?” I asked instead of playing around with him.

After all, this sudden change in speed and power was something that had caught me off guard, but also made me very curious. I didn’t think that Alidus would have been able to bring out this kind of power.

“It’s not really that impressive, I just focused on the specialty of my domain.”

It seemed like a simple solution, but I didn’t think that it was that simple.

Which was why I said, “Let me take a closer look at your domain.”

If it was anyone else that asked this, it would have been hard for Alidus to do this. After all, one’s domain was special and to let someone look at it like this was certainly a breach of privacy.

It was one’s trump card and not something that could be shown that easily.

But Alidus trusted me which was why he released his domain and just stood there for me. He stood there as if he was waiting for me to say something about his domain or to give him an order to demonstrate it.

“Just give a simple swing.” I said after looking at his domain for a bit.

Though I tried, I wasn’t able to find anything special about the domain just by staring at the passive flow of the divine energy.

Alidus gave a nod before following this order.

When he did, I couldn’t help narrowing my eyes as I watched his domain.

“So it was like this, it becomes like this if you swing your weapon…”
