The feeling of being lightheaded did not last long, disappearing immediately after Moon spawned in the Second Sanctuary.
Moon immediately felt the change in his body, he could feel one spiritual Acupoint open in his body. Instinctively, Moon immediately surveyed the area around him for any threats.
It was well known that you could spawn anywhere within the Second Sanctuary, and he could have very well spawn in a pavilion or nearby.
After making sure he was clear of any danger, Moon began to check out the change in his body. The first thing he done was check out his status screen.

His accumulated experience from the First Sanctuary had been enough to push him all the way to level 28 before injuring a single beast.
“That’s a massive amount of experience. The Supreme creatures must have given me a huge chunk, on top of the thousands of weaker beasts I killed along the way.”
Moon was satisfied beyond words. He had been capped at level 25 for as long as he could remember, and having the ability to grow stronger again felt like breathing fresh air after being underwater.
His eyes moved to his attributes. Everything had tripled before the bonus of three points per attribute from leveling was even added on top.
“These numbers are terrifying for a new Evolver.” Moon muttered, scanning the figures. “I’m pretty sure 150 is considered the cream of the crop as a fresh Evolver, and I have three attributes that well exceed it. Especially my mana.”
His gaze finally landed on his class skills, and his face lit up instantly.
“A new class skill… Life Burn.”
[Life Burn] [Description: Doubles all attributes and expands spiritual Acupoints for a duration of ten minutes. Upon activation, 90% of the user’s total Lives are consumed. Minimum Lives required to activate: Level × 2,000.] Moon’s eyes widened as he read through the description.
“This skill is a trump card.” He breathed out slowly. “Although its cost is terrifying.”
For the longest time, Moon had been unable to use his lives effectively. They had been useful for evolving his large number of skills, certainly. But outside of that, they sat there doing nothing apart from the times he died which were very few. When fighting powerful beasts, having hundreds of thousands of lives didn’t matter if the death debuff kept stacking and his body kept growing weaker with every re-spawn.
This skill changed that reality entirely.
Doubled attributes. Expanded spiritual Acupoints. Ten full minutes of power that far exceeded his natural limits. It was the kind of ability that could turn an un-winnable fight on its head or give him leeway to at least have the chance of surviving by escaping the vicinity.
But the price was steep.
“This skill can only be used as a last resort.” Moon muttered to himself. “Ninety percent of my lives is massive. Especially now that I’ve become an Evolver with so many skills left to evolve, every life counts. m”
Every life he burned on this skill was a life he couldn’t spend on evolution. Using it carelessly would cripple his growth. But in a situation where death was certain without it, the choice would be obvious.
Moon’s next stop was the beast souls. He had gained the beast soul inside the pavilion of the World’s Flaw. It had been locked since then, and finally…Moon had the chance to check it out.
[Beast Soul: Fire and Nature]
[Rank: F] [Evolve]
[Potential: S]
[Details: Summon a powerful spirit that can control fire and nature elements to a mid degree. The Spirit is loyal to its owner, and is subject to injury, and death.]
“A beast soul with S-Rank potential.” Moon’s eyebrows rose. “This sounds amazing.”
He wasn’t sure how powerful beast souls were in the Second Sanctuary compared to everything else. But having one with the potential to reach S-Rank was certainly not something to scoff at.
“I can evolve it too. Let’s see what it needs, maybe I need to feed it other spirit—”
Moon’s voice was cut off mid sentence as he stared at the cost of evolution.
[Rank F → E] [Cost: 20,000 Lives]
Moon’s mouth hung open for a second before closing.
“Twenty thousand lives to evolve it to E-Rank?” He stared at the number. “That’s not cheap at all.”
Somehow, all of a sudden, having a spirit with high potential no longer felt as alluring as it had been moments ago. If E-Rank cost twenty thousand, what would D-Rank cost? C-Rank? The numbers would only climb from here.
“Everything requires lives in this place.” Moon rubbed his face with both hands. “Even with my multiplier, I might not be able to keep up. Well, there is no use of crying over spilled milk. Let’s see what Mirage is going through.”
Moon summoned Mirage from his beast taming space, and the horse’s aura flooded the chamber immediately. Moon felt the difference in his companion at a glance.
“He’s strong…really strong.” A bright smile spread across his face.
After becoming a Second Order beast, Mirage had gained noticeable size. His snow-white coat shone brighter than before, almost dazzling to look at, and his tail had grown a little longer granting him a longer range to attack from.
“You’re a real big boy now, aren’t you?”
Mirage neighed and nuzzled his head against Moon’s in response. Through their bond, Moon could feel the horse’s emotions. Pure, unfiltered happiness. The surge in strength had put Mirage in one of the best moods Moon had ever felt from the white steed.
~Clunk~ ~Clunk~
Suddenly, a noise interrupted their moment. Moon’s eyes immediately snapped towards the direction it was coming from.
