Yun Bin, the family head of House Yun, was reviewing some documents on his desk.

Yun Bin put down the documents and poured himself a cup of tea.

“You should get some rest, my lord. You’ve been sitting in your office for close to half a day.” A voice filled with concern drifted into his ears.

Hearing this, Yun Bin turned his head to the armored warrior standing by the door.

It was Gran, his most trusted aide, and the only Transcendent Knight of House Yun.

With a chuckle, Yun Bin shook his head. “I can’t rest until I’m done reviewing all these documents. You know me. I would only feel uneasy if I lie down and do nothing.”

Gran sighed at his response, helpless. “My lord, if you fall ill, House Yun would be in chaos.”

Yun Bin was the soul of House Yun. He had four sons, but none of them were good at business. The only one among his children capable was the youngest daughter, but she was still young, so her authority in the household was limited.

Yun Bin took his reminder seriously. With a nod, he answered. “Fine. I will rest for an hour.”

Gran was relieved to hear this.

Yun Bin took a sip of tea and went back to his desk to resume his task.

Suddenly, Gran furrowed his eyebrows.

Why is it so quiet outside? Just as the thought crossed his mind, he suddenly noticed a shadow emerging behind Yun Bin.

“My lord, behind you!” He roared, drawing his sword. He wanted to rush in to protect his lord, but then another figure appeared in front of him, blocking his path.

Clang!

Sparks flew in the air as his sword clashed with a halberd.

“Who are you?!” He glared at the wielder of the halberd.

Butch smiled beneath his mask and said. “You are quite good, but your sword lacks power.”

Gran wanted to retort, but the other party suddenly added more strength to his halberd, almost sending him flying on the opposite side of the room.

With a grimace, he planted his feet firmly on the floor to stabilize his footing.

This guy is strong! Dammit! “Why are you targeting House Yun?!” He looked past the halberd user and saw that Yun Bin had already been captured. This made him nervous.

Butch didn’t respond. He brandished his halberd.

Whoosh!

An arch of light flew toward him, almost imperceptible.

Sensing the impending danger, he quickly turned his head.

A sharp pain registered in his neck and a loud ‘bang’ echoed behind him.

Gran touched his neck and felt a blade wound that made him hiss in pain.

What was that?!

Whatever it was, it almost severed his neck.

“Oh? It seems that you have some decent skills. Not many Transcendent Knights can evade my halberd. You can be proud of yourself. However…”

“…my next strike will cut off your head.”

Gran felt a wave of fear. The thought of escaping crossed his mind, but he knew that the other party wouldn’t let him escape.

I’m not his match and there is still that guy. His instincts told him that the guy who took Yun Bin was more dangerous.

Knowing that he was without options, he could only give his all.

“Bring it on!” He roared, stomping his foot on the floor, to spring forward.

With a wave of his sword, he released a mighty slash empowered by his mana.

It was an attack that carried tremendous force. His sword tore through the air.

Seeing this, Butch stepped forward and slashed down his halberd with a snort.

Whoosh!

As soon as their weapons collided, a powerful shockwave erupted.

Gran’s sword broke into pieces and his arm was torn into shreds. He shrieked as his body slammed hard onto the wall.

He felt weak all over his body. He could sense his opponent approaching him. When he lifted his head, he saw an arch of light.

With a squelch, Butch’s halberd decapitated Gran’s head.

The warrior’s headless corpse fell to the ground, bleeding profusely.

Yun Bin who was watching the scene was overcome with horror.

“W-Who hired you to do this?!” He tried to compose himself, but he couldn’t stop himself from shivering.

“I-I can double the payment you received if you spare my life.” He could only hope that he could still negotiate with these people.

Unfortunately for him, his words only met his captor’s indifferent eyes.

Feeling fearful, he quickly said. “Triple! I will triple the payment you received! I will also allow you to pick any of the treasures in my collection! If that is-”

“Save your breath.” Caecus lost his patience.

“If you speak another word, I will cut your tongue.” He warned in a cold voice.

Hearing this, Yun Bin immediately shut his mouth.

Just who are these people working for?! I don’t remember offending someone powerful…

Just who could it be?

Numerous faces flashed in his mind, but he couldn’t ascertain who among his enemies was the perpetrator.

He closed his eyes, resigning himself to his fate.

At this moment, he could hear the sounds of fighting on the lower floors.

In just less than half an hour, all the warriors and servants of House Yun have been slaughtered. The immediate family members were all caught and taken to a carriage.

When Yun Bin was brought inside the carriage, he was stunned to see that everyone in his family was captured.

No! Even my children are here! Seeing Yun Bin tied up, his wives and children tearfully asked.
