Chapter 652 Mathilda’s Revenge
Yun Bin and his family were blindfolded so they had no idea where their captors were taking them.
After a long time, the carriage finally stopped.
“Where are you guys taking u-”
Pah!
Yun Bin heard his eldest son say something, but he was brutally slapped before he could continue his next words.
Although he was furious, he didn’t dare say a word.
“We have captured the targets as per Your Highness’s orders.”
Yun Bin was rattled when he heard this.
Did he say ‘Your Highness’? The empress hadn’t announced an heir so there was only one person who fit this title.
A name instantly appeared in his mind.
Alaric Silversword.
“Good. Bring Mathilda here.” An indifferent voice echoed.
“Your subordinate obeys.”
Yun Bin furrowed her eyebrows when he heard the name. It sounded familiar to him.
Mathilda… While he was trying to recall who this person was, the door suddenly creaked.
Creak.
Yun Bin and his family heard someone enter, and their footsteps echoed.
“What can I do for Your Highness?” A pleasant voice drifted over.
Mathilda suddenly noticed a group of people tied up in the basement’s corner. At first, she was confused, but then, she realized who they were.
“This…!”
Her eyes widened in shock.
“Yun Bin!”
The thought of murder crossed her mind, but she quickly calmed down.
Seeing her exercising restraint, Alaric nodded, seemingly pleased.
“I have neglected your matters for a long time, but I haven’t forgotten your story. I know you have long wanted revenge for the destruction of your household. You can take care of them however you want.” He patted her on the shoulder.
Mathilda’s eyes turned red. She thought that Alaric had forgotten her situation.
“Your Highness…” She looked at him with gratitude, her voice choking with emotion.
Alaric smiled faintly. “You are one of my people. This is my job as your lord.”
“I won’t interfere in your decisions.” He left these words and stepped out of the basement.
After he left, Yun Bin finally recalled the name.
“So it’s you! The daughter of that stubborn merchant!” He exclaimed in disbelief.
Mathilda’s face turned cold as she looked at the man responsible for the destruction of her family.
“Yun Bin, we finally meet again.” She spoke, looking around, searching for something within the basement.
She saw a dagger placed conveniently on the side table.
She grabbed the dagger and approached Yun Bin and his family who were shivering in the corner.
“I should have killed you back then!” Yun Bin muttered, his tone filled with regret.
Mathilda scoffed. Using the tip of the dagger, she lifted Yun Bin’s blindfold, allowing him to see her face.
Looking at her familiar features, Yun Bin revealed a complex expression.
“Do you know how much I suffered because of you?” Mathilda muttered, holding back the urge to kill him.
She twirled the dagger in her hand, enjoying the look of fear in his eyes.
Yun Bin sneered. He knew that his death was imminent so he no longer bothered to plead for his life.
“You are not the only person who has a grudge with me. Do you think I care about what you feel?” He laughed, his crazed voice filled with disdain.
Mathilda took a deep breath, controlling her emotions. She then let out a sigh and said. “Thank you. With your words, I wouldn’t feel guilty killing you. Your death is like ridding this empire of evil.”
Sensing her unmasked killing intent, Yun Bin chuckled.
“Kill me! What are you hesitating for?!” He roared.
Mathilda no longer hesitated. She stepped forward and plunged the dagger into his heart.
With a squelch, the dagger pierced through his chest.
A look of pain flashed in Yun Bin’s eyes.
Mathilda stared deeply into his eyes as she twisted the dagger.
Yun Bin groaned. He wanted to push her away, but he found his strength slowly leaving his body. He couldn’t even muster his mana since he was bound by mithril chains.
Mathilda pulled the dagger from his chest.
Blood gushed out from the wound. Yun Bin fell onto the floor, his life slowly slipping away. He lifted his head to look at Mathilda.
With an ugly smile, he muttered. “S-Slut…”
Mathilda glanced coldly at him, watching his final act. “Even in your final moments, you show no remorse.”
“Don’t worry. Your family will follow you in hell…”
The light in Yun Bin’s eyes dimmed. He was dead.
Mathilda closed her eyes for a moment to revel in the pleasure of revenge. Initially, she thought of torturing Yun Bin before killing him, but she felt that there was no need for her to waste time on someone unworthy.
“My lady, please spare us! We weren’t involved in your family’s grudge!” A terrified voice broke the momentary silence.
Mathilda frowned and turned her head toward Yun Bin’s eldest son, Yun Ren.
“Shut up! Do you think I don’t know about the crimes you committed under your father’s protection?!” She furiously slapped Yun Ren, making him tumble onto the floor.
Terrified, Yun Ren quickly pleaded. “It wasn’t my intention! I was coerced by my father! I’m innoce-”
Mathilda no longer bothered to listen to his nonsense. She grabbed his hair and stabbed his neck, twisting it viciously.
Yun Ren didn’t expect her to be so ruthless. He looked at her, as if he wanted to say something, but no words came out of his mouth.
Soon, his body convulsed, and he breathed his last.
After his voice died down, the remaining members of House Yun shivered uncontrollably.
“Miss, I beg you to spare my children! You have already taken the life of my eldest son and my husband! Please spare us! I beg you!” Yun Bin’s wife pleaded, her voice shaking.
Mathilda’s expression remained cold. “You people killed my family. They also pleaded with you to spare them, but you didn’t…”
As soon as she uttered these words, she swung the dagger at the woman.
Whoosh!
The headless body of Yun Bin’s wife fell onto the floor.
“Ahh! Don’t kill me!”
“Please don’t kill me!”
The two remaining sons shrieked at the sight of their mother’s death. Only the daughter managed to keep her silence.
