Strongest Mage with the Lust system - Chapter 927: Selling the Talisman

Following the map in the information packet, Max left the mountain his villa was on. His destination—Trade Mountain.
Normally, he should have gone to the Talisman Hall’s Resource Hall since selling the talisman there would be easier and hassle free compared to selling it at the trade mountain, he chose not to because he knew the Grimheart Faction’s people would be there too and when they saw him, they would make it impossible for him to sell anything.
Since he wasn’t in condition to retaliate yet, he could only try his best to avoid them. Thus, he chose the Trade Mountain.
He, of course, was aware that he would find Grimheart Faction’s people in the trade mountain too, but he wasn’t worried because the trade mountain was an unofficial gathering of people who wanted to buy and sell things.
A seller would be there one day, and might not appear ever again. The same was true for the buyers. Moreover, everyone wore masks to conceal their identity.
All this made it way too difficult for any faction to influence it in any significant capacity.
On the way to the mountain, Max changed into a blue robe of different style than he usually wore and covered his head by the robe’s hood until half of his face was concealed too.
When he arrived at the foot of the mountain, he saw multiple stalls selling face masks. Each mask was a magic artifact that had Divine Sense repelling properties.
Upon seeing so many masks being sold like they weren’t worth much, anyone who knew a little about the magic artifacts would know there had to be something wrong with them.
And indeed, there was something wrong—they could only be used for three hours. After three hours since activation, they would lose their effect and turn into normal masks. This was why they could be produced in such a large quantity and sold at a lot cheaper price than normal magic artifacts.
Max observed the customers for a moment without being too obvious and found out that these masks were being sold for 20 High Grade Mana Stones for one.
’How expensive,’ he thought. He didn’t have any High Grade or even Mid Grade Mana stones as he had given what he had to Gene a while back. Now, he only had the Mana Crystal Elder Milo gave him and a few hundred thousand Low Grade Mana Stones.
Walking over, he said in a changed voice, “Give me one.”
The stall owner immediately handed it to him.
Without any question, he put it on his face and discreetly activated it with his Bloodline Energy.
The Stall Owner frowned but didn’t say anything because anyone who came to the Trade Mountain could afford a mask.
“Here,” the next moment, he saw Max throw a storage pouch toward him and walk away.
“Hey, Sir. Wait. I don’t accept Mid Grade Mana Stones.” he hurriedly said.
“They are not Mid Grade ones, don’t worry.” Casually saying this, Max vanished into the crowd.
Though a little skeptical as to why he had put the Mana Stones in the storage pouch instead of handing them to him normally, he sighed in relief. As long as they were High Grade ones, it was alright.
The next instant, his relieved expression froze on his face when he saw there was a large pile of mana stones inside… Low Grade Mana Stones, 200,000 in number.
Swoosh!
His head flicked to the crowd venturing into the mountain, his eyes scanning for Max. When he failed to find him, he could only gnash his teeth in rage. “Don’t let me see you again.”
With that, he casually threw the storage pouch in the stall’s compartment. Even though they were pretty much useless for him, he could still exchange them for Mid and High Grade ones when he was free.
…
Max felt a little bad and a little happy after successfully ’scamming’ the guy.
’I gave him 200,000 Low Grade ones, equivalent to 20 High Grade ones. So, there is no need to feel bad about it.’ he thought to himself before glancing around.
The mountain wasn’t large, it was even smaller than the mountain his villa was on, but it was bustling with people moving about.
There were many stalls lined up along the path for as far as he could see, but no stall owner was trying to attract customers by calling out to them. Instead, they were sitting or standing behind their stalls in silence with their eyes closed.
Every stall had a board that briefly introduced the items they were selling and their price. Customers would read it and if they were interested, they would pay the price and take the goods.
Of course, exceptions were everywhere. There were some stall owners calling out to the customers and some customers were trying to haggle to lower the price.
Max took a walk and checked the stalls that were selling the talismans to get an idea of their prices. Since this mountain was within the Talisman Hall, most of the sellers were selling the talisman and he soon got the information he needed.
But at the same time, he sighed inwardly because… there were too many people selling talismans.
’No wonder the information packet said the price I would get here would be lower than the Resource Hall’s price,’ he thought.
Shaking his head, he began looking around and soon found a place to set up his temporary booth.
He took a bedsheet from his spatial ring, laid it down before sitting on it. Then, he took out the Tier 4, Fire Elemental Talisman and a piece of paper on which he wrote in bold words:
Unique Mid Grade Tier 4, Fire Elemental Talisman! Just for 100 High Grade Mana Stones!! Only one left!
Not long after he put it all together, a cloaked figure walked over—it was a woman.
“Do you mind if I check it first?” she asked in an androgynous voice.
Max’s eyes lit up. He knew if she was familiar with the talismans which she should be, after checking it she would definitely want to buy.
After all, his talisman was really unique as it was created with an unorthodox method and the addition of fire energy from his Energy Traces should make it a lot more powerful among similar talismans in its grade.
Thus, he nodded, “Sure.”
The woman picked it up and began inspecting it. Just a moment later, she looked at him and asked, “Did you make it?”
Max’s brows furrowed behind his mask because he couldn’t tell why she was asking this as her voice sounded neutral. If she was merely curious, it wouldn’t be bad to answer her, but the chances were she had figured something out from it and had ill intentions…
He didn’t want to take chances, and for this reason, he wanted to release his Bloodline Sense to sense her emotions, but doing so in a place full of people wasn’t advisable.
So, after thinking for a moment, he indifferently said, “Put it down and move along if you don’t want it.”
She stared at him for a moment, then took out a hundred mana stones, but just as she was about to give it to him, a voice sounded.
“Wait.”
Max brows furrowed.
