Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1605: Selena’s Suggestion

Chapter 1605: Selena’s Suggestion
“I repeat. The trip’s difficulty has gone from bad to worse.”
“!!!” Alavenya, Sera, and Flora froze upon hearing the announcement.
“What is she talking about?” Evelyn pointed at the ring.
Luna tilted her head in confusion, demanding an explanation.
Flora let out a long sigh before explaining to Luna. “Has Nathan ever told you not to say anything regarding the progress of the trip or mission?”
Luna nodded. “Yeah. From what I’ve heard, you shouldn’t jinx it.”
“That’s exactly what happened. Someone must have jinxed it. I don’t know who it is, but looking at the lineup, it should be Iris. Then again, we haven’t told her about it because there was no need for it before. I forgot about it.” Flora shook her head helplessly.
“Is it that cursed?” Luna asked.
“Worse than cursed.” Flora let out a long sigh.
The same explanation was given to Evelyn, Vivian, and Bella.
Even Evelyn couldn’t help but ask, “You are just joking, right?”
“I wish.” Alavenya rolled her eyes. “Well, we once thought it was going to be fine, but the next thing we realized, we were surrounded by aliens. When we thought the trip had gone well, the next thing we realized… an elite class alien ambushed us when the strongest among us were only grandmasters.
“I could tell you a few more occasions such a thing happened, so…” Alavenya sighed.
“…” Evelyn was a bit speechless. She had received the warning when she was in Erendtall, but this was the first time she understood the reason.
Bella asked, “So, what are we expecting now?”
“I know Nathan’s luck is twisted, but surely it’s not this twisted, right?” Vivian frowned.
Alavenya shrugged. “What did we expect in the beginning?”
“A threat that could swallow the entire kingdom.”
“Yeah. Now, it’s going to be worse than that.” Alavenya clutched her head. “I can’t imagine what kind of threat we will have to handle right now.”
“So, does that mean we’re screwed?” Vivian asked. “How did you emerge from all those situations?”
“Normally, Nathan’s life schedule is like this. We will encounter a problem, and the problem will get worse. It will then worsen further. Then, we have to think hard to find a solution to that problem. All this time, we manage to think of a way, but we don’t know if we can find any way this time.”
“Life schedule…” Bella smiled wryly. “How do you even generalize such a thing? Is he cursed or something?”
Evelyn suddenly understood what it meant to have a twisted luck. It looked like this was what Elysion mentioned before.
Although she didn’t understand the entire thing, she knew she couldn’t underestimate the problem.
“All right. In that case, we will have to make more preparations. Understood?”
They nodded to Evelyn.
It appeared Luna also recognized the problem. She knew the twisted luck since she was the other person beside Evelyn who accompanied him to meet Elysion.
Luna crossed her arms. “If the situation has indeed gone this bad, then I guess we have to make another layer of protection. I need both of you to help me.”
“Of course. We will help in any way we can.” Flora and Sera nodded vigorously.
…
Seeing how Noelle reacted, Iris turned pale. “Master…”
Nathan smiled and patted Iris’ shoulder. “You were not in the wrong. I was. I should have warned you about my rotten luck. In any case, the situation hasn’t gone out of control yet. Fortunately, we may still have some time left.”
Selena nodded in agreement. “Since the situation has reached this point, I guess the problem will appear when we reach our last destination.”
“Yes.” Nathan raised two fingers. “As such, we will be changing our strategy. First, I want Noelle to focus on summoning your next familiar. Having a god related to luck might change the outcome. In addition, having another fighter with us will be quite useful.
“After that, Iris will get as strong as possible. Selena, you should focus on forming your own rules. If we can somehow outspeed the problem, we can overcome it.
“Noelle, tell the others to only reach their last destination in the last three days. We should get there at the same time.”
Noelle frowned. “Won’t this mean we will get triple the trouble?”
“Not really. Now that we know the problem is coming, we should divide it.” Nathan shook his head calmly.
“So, that’s how it is.” Selena agreed with Nathan. “If we use numbers as an example, we originally had ’100’ as our trouble. But our current situation has made the trouble become ’150.’ If we go together, it won’t mean each of us will encounter the ’150.’ It will mean that the ’150’ will be split into three.
“If we don’t go together, only one of our group will receive the ’150.’ Normally, this means we manage to contain the problem in a single place, but we were talking about a threat that could swallow the entire kingdom.
“So, we should expect that we wouldn’t be able to handle them even if we concentrated everything we had at a single point.
“As such, we should divide it into three. Depending on the problem, we could actually focus on one problem at a time.”
“Oh?!” Noelle finally understood Nathan’s plan. “I understand. Let me relay the plan to the other groups.”
Iris felt bad because she caused all this. At the same time, the entire problem felt ridiculous. How could a situation go that badly because of a single sentence?
Iris had never experienced Nathan’s bad luck, so she didn’t know the suffering that Selena and the others had endured whenever they went with Nathan. So, it was understandable that she was unable to picture the problem.
Nathan, on the other hand, had changed his plan. “We will change the approach as well. I may also summon my next familiar before we reach our destination. If there is enough time, of course. Hopefully, we can get enough cores in the next two weeks.”
Selena raised her hand. “If that’s the case, why don’t we create a small jinx within the jinx?”
“!!!”
