Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1654: Gregory

Once Nathan settled down, he finally left the empire to visit Gregory. Nathan had left Luna’s brother, Leon, to him, so hopefully, nothing happened to Leon.
He couldn’t afford for a tragedy like the Sword Saint to happen again.
“So, this is the city… It can’t be compared to the capital city, but in a way, this city has been restored to a high degree.” Sera looked around.
Sera had been quiet all this time, simply because she didn’t understand what they were talking about.
Unlike the others, Sera didn’t have Cthulhu’s sigil, so it was impossible to understand them in a short time.
Nevertheless, Luna translated everything for her, so she was able to learn what had happened all this time.
Sera was quite impressed by the recovery of the city, but she had heard the city was also recovered from Nathan’s funds.
Nathan replied, “The city has improved beyond my expectations. It looks like they’re able to self-sustain right now. Nevertheless, the situation will get better.”
Sera agreed. “Still, how about other continents? We know one of them has fallen, but the other might be in a very bad condition.”
“Yeah…” Nathan couldn’t help but imagine the current situation on that continent. Without food, their population had decreased significantly. Still, the fact that there was no influx of aliens yet meant they hadn’t fallen. Most likely, they were concentrating their forces to withstand the aliens.
Hopefully, they would be able to withstand the aliens until Nathan arrived on their continent.
He could probably offer some help at that time.
Nathan finally reached the city hall where he used to stay. It appeared Gregory was staying in this place as well. He had been elected mayor by the people.
“My lord!” Gregory’s expression brightened. Nathan promised he would be back to take him away, so he had been waiting for it.
Still, he didn’t expect Nathan to come back this early. Leon’s treatment had yet to be finished, so he couldn’t really ask Nathan to bring him to his continent this time.
Sera was quite surprised that there was someone who would actually recognize him as his lord.
Nathan placed his hand on Gregory’s shoulder and said, “Please get up. Let’s have a talk. I also need a report from you. While we’re at it, why don’t we go to Leon?”
“Yes, sir!” Gregory nodded and gestured for Nathan to follow him. While walking, Gregory reported, “Sir Leon is improving considerably. Although it’s true that he’s currently unconscious, his body condition has been restored to its peak.
“Once the research is completed, I plan to release the seal and remove the black cell from his body.
“Currently, the research is about 60% complete. There is no problem found thanks to the fact that this research mainly focuses on the humanoid alien.
“Since they have similar anatomy, it’s not hard to advance the research. However, I have to slow down the progress a bit to increase safety. I don’t want to do anything half-heartedly, not for someone this important.”
“I see.” Nathan nodded before glancing at Luna, asking her to take over the report.
Luna asked, “Can he regain his consciousness?”
“According to the research, he can. In fact, he will regain consciousness as soon as we remove the black cell. All this time, the black cell has been like a parasite in his mind. Once it is removed, he should become sober. At least, that’s the theory.
“If necessary, I will be adding medicine and a few other herbs to accelerate this process.”
Luna nodded. She felt relieved that nothing had gone wrong with the treatment.
“Continue with the good work.”
“Thank you, sir.”
Nathan thought for a moment. “There is a different reason why I come here. It may not be entirely related to you, but I also want to inform you about one thing. First, I want to confirm. Are you sure you still want to go with me?”
“Yes, sir.” Gregory answered without hesitation.
“In that case, I am going to build a teleportation circle on this continent. This way, when you are done with your task, I can open a teleportation circle for you to reach my continent.
“However, I don’t know how long I will be able to stay with you.”
“Sir?” Gregory was stupefied, thinking Nathan was going to die. He panicked, wondering what was wrong.
Nathan smiled wryly. “I am going to another world through the portal in the alien territory. I have to go there and fight the aliens directly. That’s why I won’t be in this world anymore.
“During that time, I will probably have to ask you to take care of my territory.”
“Ah!” Gregory never knew Nathan’s real burden. He was surprised to realize Nathan had been carrying all this burden.
Still, he felt relieved. The lord he planned to serve was such a great man. He swore he would do anything he could to make sure that Nathan didn’t have to worry about this world.
Nathan continued, “Anyway, how is the condition of the city?”
“Everything is looking good. The improvement has livened up the city, and we’re still under everyone’s radar. It can probably last for a year or two.”
“What if I tell you the sky will be clear forever and you can return to your original life soon?”
“Really?” Gregory was startled but soon fell into deep thought. “If that truly happens, it will be good. Right now, everyone has to worry about their health due to the ashes. If we can restore their living conditions, everyone’s health will increase. And the ashes will boost the growth of new medicinal herbs.
“Although most animals have gone, they will repopulate soon enough. So, hopefully, everything is going to be fine.”
Nathan nodded in understanding. “In that case, I want you to focus on your task right now. I will go around town for now.”
“Yes, sir.” Gregory received the order. However, Luna waved her hand, as if telling Nathan that she would stay with her brother for the time being.
Nathan didn’t say anything and just brought Sera away.
