- Chapter 1655: What Was Supposed to Happen

After going around the town to check the living conditions, Nathan returned to Luna, who was looking at her own coffin that sealed her brother.
“How is he?” Nathan asked.
“I think he will be fine. As long as you really stay here for a bit longer…” Luna felt slightly relieved that Nathan actually possessed research that could help her brother.
In addition, he was here to help her with his luck and karma.
She couldn’t imagine what would happen if Nathan never came to this continent.
Nathan couldn’t help but say, “Now that my mind is clear, I think I finally understand what had happened in the previous lives.
“In my dream, the time for the original Nathan to fight the aliens was shrinking. I could see a few trustworthy people, but they weren’t enough against the aliens.
“Although I didn’t know the exact time of the invasion, I believe the elite class army invasion happened quite early.
“That was because of one person… the Godfather.”
Luna widened her eyes. “What do you mean?”
“If you think about it, the invasion might have started because of the Godfather, not just the original Nathan.
“The Godfather is here and has been preparing for a counterattack and taking over this continent, right?”
Luna nodded. “So, you’re saying that the Godfather succeeded and took over this continent. As a result, the aliens from this front moved to the other continent.”
“Simultaneously, they add the elite class aliens to deliver the killing blow. Even if there are no elite class aliens, the sudden influx of aliens will be hard to overcome.”
“They will definitely chip away at our numbers,” Luna agreed. “Eventually, another continent will fall.”
“Yes. According to the original Nathan, he has solved the food issue in one way or another. With him there, I believe Gratzel is the last continent standing. In other words, all three continents might have perished during that time, and all aliens are concentrating their forces on a single continent.”
Luna never thought about this possibility. “So, the Godfather…”
“He might have been commanding the aliens as the black cell’s representative. The original Nathan was aware of other continents after becoming a god, but he mentioned there was nothing he could do for them.
“This meant this continent had fallen by the time he became a god. It was supposed to take about 3 years at a minimum for him to become a god, according to my calculations.
“If you think about it, this continent would have fallen if we had been late by several months.”
“!!!” Luna felt a chill down her spine. She never realized the world was in such a predicament all this time.
“Now that the Godfather has been defeated, it gives a clear signal to the black cell that something has gone wrong. The black cell is launching a counterattack in the form of an army of the Ancient Ones.
“However, he can’t fully control the Ancient Ones yet, according to Cthulhu, so he only sends the lower-level ones.”
Now that Nathan had explained it in such a way, she couldn’t help but realize the situation might have gone in their favor.
Their plan of dividing them might work. No, there was another possibility that they needed to consider. “If you think about it, won’t this mean the black cell will send its army to this continent rather than Gratzel?
“After all, this is the land where the Godfather died.” Luna was concerned about this fact. She didn’t know how much information the black cell possessed.
“I don’t think so.” Nathan crossed his arms. “This is just a speculation of mine. The black cell might have a way to figure out the activation of its power. Of course, the Godfather is a one-of-a-kind existence that is able to understand the black cell.
“However, other aliens might also send a signal when they’re exchanging their lifespan for the black cell’s power.
“We have taken down so many alpha class aliens, so the black cell might perceive it as us going to Gratzel.
“That’s why Elysion came to warn us about the death. He might have sensed death energy that would sweep away this continent.”
Luna couldn’t ignore this possibility as well. “Won’t this mean we can actually lure the enemy out just by taking down a few alpha class aliens on this continent? If the others are doing the same, the black cell will consider both continents to have the power to kill the alpha class aliens and divide the army in two.
“If we use your jinx, it will probably end with a much worse situation than just five hundred elite class aliens, right?”
“As much as I want to agree with you…” Nathan sighed before shaking his head. “I don’t think this is the best option. The biggest reason is that once the black cell considers this continent to be that much of a threat, it will also send higher-level aliens to this place. It will divide them, but it will also divide our attention.
“Do you think this continent is equipped to handle all those high-level aliens? If this continent falls, we will have to handle the aliens that are supposed to be here.
“Hence, it’s better to use the jinx. We will face a worse situation, but once this is over, the black cell will remain focused on Gratzel. This continent can remain standing and keep diverting the enemy’s attention.”
Luna sighed. “Sorry, it was a dumb suggestion from me.”
“No, it was what we had to do if I didn’t have my jinx. For now, we just have to prepare for the invasion.”
Luna looked down. “What are we going to do now? We have a few days before we start working.”
“Well, I have to work right now.”
“Work?” Luna tilted her head in confusion.
“Yeah. This continent has records about other continents. I’m planning to get those records so that I can go to other continents in the near future and establish the link without the need to possess a divine body.
“The other continents might be our way to speed up our progress to reach divinity. This is probably what we need, looking at how much time we have left.”
