Chapter 2318: You don’t look tired when you are in Nux’s be—ummffhh!!
“Did you have fun?”
Nux asked as he gently kissed her forehead and Ignira—
“I did!!”
She nodded with a big smile on her face.
Nux chuckled at that sight, then, his eyes fell on the two Dragon Progenitors, one of whom, had an annoyed look on his face.
“Why are you here?”
Dagahra questioned.
“Hmm? Isn’t it clear? To pick up my daughter.”
Nux tilted his head in confusion before answering with a smile.
“She was busy.”
Dagahra spoke directly and Nux sighed.
“Her side would have won.”
“She doesn’t know that.”
Dagahra spoke with that same, harsh tone and at this point, Nux had already made it so Ignira wouldn’t listen to their conversation.
“It doesn’t matter if she wins or not.
This is not about winning, it is about seeing it to the end. This is how she will learn, from experience. Which she couldn’t, since you appeared.
You knew the battle was over, you knew it wouldn’t have lasted more than a few hours, yet you came here, knowing that she would drop everything and rush to see you.
I hope you understand that what you are doing is hindering her growth.”
The Dragon Progenitor spoke with a solemn look on his face and finally, Nux’s easy expression changed as well.
He looked right into the Dragon Progenitor’s eyes and—
“I announced the gathering a day ago.
You were the one who ignored that, took my daughter to another world and failed to bring her back on time despite my constant calls.
Do not pin this on me, Dagahra.”
Nux spoke, his eyes now shining threateningly. It was a look that made the Dragon Progenitor gulp for a moment, but he didn’t back down.
“The gathering could have waited a few hours.”
“Or you could have chosen not to take my daughter away after the announcement was made.”
Nux countered.
“I did what was necessary for her growth.”
“She is ten.
She has ample time to grow.”
“She has ample time for family gatherings as well, it won’t matter if she skipped a few.”
Dagahra snorted and this time—
Nux lost it.
“I don’t want to hear that from someone who didn’t even know who half of his children were back in his day. Gatherings may not be important for you, but they are for me. They allow me to spend time with all of my family together, you may not know how valuable that is, I do.”
He spoke those words and Dagahra… he turned silent.
It was one of the things that hurt him the most, one of his greatest regrets.
A family.
Or lack of one.
As a Progenitor, it was his duty to populate Yrniel, he fathered hundreds of thousands of children but…
He could never be a proper father to any of them, this was also the reason he was trying so hard with Ignira and Nux’s other children.
But…
For Nux to point this out at this very moment… it felt… heavy.
Nux, however, did not care how it felt. He continued to stare at him and—
“I respect you as a warrior and the person you are, I am also glad for everything you do for my children, but that does not mean you are allowed to keep them away from me and try to tell me how I am hindering their growth when I come to meet them.
They are MY children, she is MY daughter, I may not be the best father in the Universe, I may not understand what is best for her and her growth—
But I damn well know that me spending time with her won’t affect anything.
My daughter isn’t a machine who is supposed to train in the most optimal way, she is a child, I send her with you because she likes your training, she likes commanding armies, if she is learning something from them, that’s good.
But learning and getting stronger isn’t the priority, the priority is her enjoying what she does.
So if she abandons your so-called training and rushes towards her father like a child should—
You are no one to stop her.”
He spoke and then, he stepped closer, appearing right in front of the Dragon Progenitor and—
“I hope that is clear.”
Then, Nux walked past him and the instant he did, the frosty look on his face disappeared and Ignira, who was frozen all this while, suddenly returned to her senses and rubbed her face on her father’s chest, not noticing the tense environment around her at all.
“Father, did you see what I did? Hehe~ I made them win~”
“Of course I did, I even recorded my brave daughter, we will watch it with mother later, how about it?”
“Yes! Mother needs to see it as well! I will become even better than her!”
Ignira clenched her fists, her golden eyes shining brightly.
“Even better than your mother, huh? That won’t be easy.”
Nux commented, even he wasn’t sure if he would be a better general than Ember, her Law was one thing, he had that power as well, just her understanding of army tactics and everything was… quite thorough.
And even though Nux’s vast knowledge probably outshined all of Ember’s, he still felt like Ember was better than him when it came to commanding armies.
“Just you wait! I’ll do it!”
Ignira, however, didn’t care. She was roaring to surpass her mother.
“Alright then, I’ll root for you.”
Nux chuckled.
“You will?”
Ignira asked.
“Of course, who else will I root for?”
“Hmph! You always root for mother!”
The girl pouted.
“You two also sneak inside the room without telling me!”
She complained again and Nux…
“…”
He had no clue how to react to that.
Should he just freeze this little one when he is with her mother?
“Hmph! Hmph!”
The girl pouted even harder and Nux laughed,
“Alright alright, this time, I will root for you, okay?”
“Hmph!”
“Nira…”
Nux had no clue how to make amends with his daughter.
The strongest being in this Universe, a being who had challenged four beings, who had ruled another Universe for trillions of years, beings who were far stronger than him, without an inch of fear or uncertainty—
Was now standing in front of this little thing, constantly thinking about what to say to please her and not offend her any further.
…
Back in Umbrasol, the grand palace where the ’Royal Family’ stayed, a place that was usually calm and peaceful, was now a mess.
One by one, all of the children and their mothers had come for the gathering.
The first ones were Lane, Rune and Thyra, it was rare to see Lane together with the other two, at least it was ten years ago but… the children had changed that.
Their daughters, Nyx, Sable and Kira, were especially close. All three of them did not speak many words and it formed a sense of camaraderie around them. The three were together, even right now.
Then came Vyriana, Astaria, Ember and Lavinia, these four were together since the beginning, and that didn’t change with their children, since all of them, Zyrax, Ragnar, Drakar and Frostra were quite close to each other.
“Hm? Where is Ignira?”
Drakar frowned when he couldn’t find his sister.
Ember smiled at that.
“She will be here soon.”
“Who is she with?”
Drakar didn’t understand.
Ignira was part of their group, she should be with them, no?
“Don’t you know? Grandpa Dagahra took her to train.”
Zyrax answered with his hands behind his head.
“He hasn’t brought her back yet?”
Drakar frowned.
“It’s Grandpa Dagahra, what do you think?”
Ragnar commented and Drakar couldn’t say anything to that. Frostra, like her mother, stayed silent, just observing her siblings.
After them came another group—
Melia, Riona, Amaya, Aeliana, Eisheth and Allura…
An extremely strange group, one that almost no one would have been able to predict, but as surprising as it sounds, or actually not very surprising, their children, Noctis, Caelum, Orion, Samael, Seraphyne, and Azarion were quite close.
After all, all these children had somewhat similar personalities, all of them commanded control, just… in their own… unique way.
Then came Skyla, Edda and Aisha, Skyla’s son, Kaelion, was close to Edda’s son Veyron and Edda’s daughter Selene was very close to Aisha’s Velora.
How could they not?
The two girls were essentially the same, one used illusions to trick others, the other used her charm to make couples fight each other.
“See? I told you we came early, they haven’t even begun lunch.”
Kaelion complained as he glanced at Veyron. Veyron looked at him and sighed—
“I did not have the energy to continue chasing you around, you exhaust me.”
“Oh come on! It was fun!”
Kaelion raised his voice, Veyron however, just placed a finger on his ear and—
“Keep it low, will you?”
He spoke with a yawn and Edda, who watched her son from behind, just sighed—
“How did this one turn out so lazy?”
She then turned towards her sister and—
“Do you two think I am lazy?”
That was when a perverted smile appeared on Aisha’s face and—
“You don’t look tired when you are in Nux’s be—ummffhh!!”
Before she could even complete her words, someone grabbed her mouth from behind.
