Supreme Harem God System - Chapter 2321: Could it be… him?

Chapter 2321: Could it be… him?
“Yes, the Infinities have figured out a way to know what world we are targeting and they are now actively moving to stop us.”
Nux spoke, and the instant he confirmed what the women were thinking—
The lively atmosphere in the Meeting Hall… disappeared.
Of course, the children couldn’t hear any of it, Nux had put all of them to sleep as the conversation began without them knowing or understanding what had happened.
They just knew that their father, for some reason, had sealed the Universe and they were no longer supposed to leave, and then… they fell asleep.
Nihyron tried to fight it, he had sensed his father had done something, so just to challenge him, he tried to resist.
But he was far too young for him to be challenging Nux in this manner, so he too, couldn’t hold out.
“They… figured out a way…?”
Aeliana spoke with a solemn look on her face.
“How…?”
Riona asked.
Amaya, however, shook her head.
“That isn’t important, at least not right now.”
And she was correct.
“We first need to understand how much they know.
To what extent can they sense our movements, we need to… experiment.”
The Devourer spoke and Nux nodded at her words.
“These past five times, every time our hunting party entered that world, one of the four Infinities was waiting for them. The rest of the party was crushed the moment it entered and my clones were captured.
Of course, I ended all the connections I had with it, so the only thing they had in their hands was a powerless puppet that has no memories or abilities.
They wouldn’t find anything with it.”
“But they are still capturing your clones.”
Thyra pointed out.
“Yes.”
Nux nodded.
“That means they still do not completely understand everything. They are still looking for answers.”
“Or they just simply want to capture you.”
Vyriana commented.
And honestly—
Nux did not have an answer.
All this time, he had been playing the Infinities exactly like he wanted to, of course, there were some moments of uncertainty, but overall, all his plans worked as he intended them to, the Infinities moved like he expected them to, fell for his traps like he expected them to—
It had been a smooth-sailing ride this entire time.
But for the first time in a long, long while, Nux was… answerless.
What the Infinities had done was completely out of his expectation, something he couldn’t have any possible answers to.
Questions like, how did they find a way?
Did they know how to stop him all this while? If that was true, why move now? Why not move earlier? After all, the only reason Nux survived was because he was fast and by the time the Infinities knew he had attacked, it was over.
But… if any of the Infinities had been waiting for him to attack and had attacked him the moment he arrived—
Nux didn’t think his chances of making it back from that situation were high, not back then, when he had barely devoured a few High Level Worlds.
Heck, even now, even when he had devoured more than a thousand High Level Worlds using the War to his advantage and was now much, much stronger than he was in the past—
He still wasn’t sure he could take on an Infinity.
Or maybe they didn’t have a way before and only figured something out now?
Even if that was true, the question was the same.
Figured out what exactly?
How did they do it? Was it because he made a mistake he didn’t notice?
There were too many questions and absolutely no answers.
“Is there something else that we know…?”
Sharnoth, keeping her calm, asked another question.
Nux looked at her and nodded.
“We do.”
He spoke as he looked at Aeliana, the Vampire frowned in confusion and Nux—
“They are trying to reach Father-in-law.”
“The Infinities…?”
Aeliana asked and Nux nodded again.
“Yes, last time Father-in-law contacted them, he left the artifact to reach him with them. They contacted him through it.”
“What did they say?”
Aeliana asked.
“They said they wish to meet him.”
“What…?”
The Vampire narrowed her eyes, not just her, everyone else was the same.
“Father-in-law denied, he said the same thing he said last time, that he has no reason to trust beings who do not trust themselves.
They mentioned how the War had stopped and now it was time for the Infinities to come together and take care of the outside threat.
And how, as the Universe’s Child, it was his responsibility to join them.”
Nux explained and the women frowned.
“Something here does not make sense…”
Amaya muttered with a deep frown.
“Father-in-law said the same.”
Nux nodded again.
“What did he say?”
Eisheth asked.
“He said that they seemed… too cooperative.
They even asked what he wanted them to do for him to be able to trust them, it went against their personalities.
Someone as arrogant as the Infinities, all coming together to… please one being, a being who once disrespected them…”
“It sounds like a trap.”
Aeliana completed those words.
And Nux nodded.
“That’s what he said.”
And that was when Amaya mentioned something that created an even stronger impact.
“It’s almost as if… they know he is connected to us in some way and if they get their hands on him…
They will be able to force us out.”
The moment those words were said, the atmosphere in the hall changed. Aeliana looked shaken, Vyriana quickly placed her hand on her shoulder, Melia gently held her hand, trying to ease her down.
The rest of the women seemed shaken too.
“But how…?”
Felberta thought out loud, her mind calculating every possibility it could think of.
And that was when Sharnoth looked at Nux and…
“Could it be… him?”
She spoke in a low voice, but it was enough to attract the attention of every single being present here.
All of them knew who this him Sharnoth was talking about.
Her Master, a being who manipulated her, her entire life—
Zylarith Chaosveil.
Nux’s supposed Soul Father.
“If it is him… then it would make sense…”
Rune commented with a solemn look on her face.
“The Infinities did tell him to reach out…”
Lyriana nodded as well.
“If it’s him, he would know about the relationship between Nux and Lord Azriel…”
Eisheth muttered with a heavy expression.
And the moment that was mentioned, the atmosphere in the room turned even heavier.
“But how did the Infinities figure out a way to stop Nux’s hunts just because Zylarith contacted them?”
Lyriana questioned with a confused look on her face.
Zylarith knew about them, sure, but that still shouldn’t have helped the Infinities figure out a way to stop them.
“Could it be a coincidence?”
Rune asked.
That could be true as well, in fact, that seemed more likely, but…
“No.”
Sharnoth shook her head.
“If Master made a move, he would have made it after full preparations.
He must have planned it all.”
Compared to everyone here, she knew Zylarith the most, she knew how thorough that man was. He would be as thorough as Nux, if not more, this was the reason Sharnoth, at some level, believed Zylarith was actually Nux’s Soul Father, even though the rest of the women felt that it was bogus.
“Are you saying that… Zylarith figured out a way to stop Nux’s hunts? Something that none of the Infinities, not even the Infinity of Eternity could?”
Felberta narrowed her eyes as she looked at Sharnoth and—
“That is correct.”
Sharnoth nodded.
If it was Zylarith, he was definitely capable of it.
“How did he do that?”
Felberta asked.
“I wouldn’t know.”
Sharnoth could only shake her head and the women turned silent.
The Progenitors too, ever since the conversation began, remained completely silent, not once did they try to interrupt because they had no valuable input regarding the situation.
“Could there be… a traitor among us?”
Suddenly, Rune asked another question.
Of course, when she mentioned a traitor, everyone knew she wasn’t talking about the wives, that was simply impossible, Nux wouldn’t even consider that—
But that didn’t mean…
The Progenitors were excluded from suspicion.
The Progenitors realized what everyone at the table was thinking as well, especially when Rune was making no effort to hide it as she stared at them with her piercing green eyes.
But then—
“Search our memories.”
Faustina spoke directly.
“Faus!”
One of the Beastkin Progenitors raised his voice, Faustina, however, shook her head.
“It happened after we returned and started living here permanently, even I would be suspicious.”
The moment she said those words, silence lingered in the hall. Faustina, on the other hand, looked at Nux and nodded—
“Search our memories, I want to prove my innocence.”
“I never doubted you, Mother.”
Nux shook his head.
“I know.
This is the reason I wish to prove that you were right to put your trust in me.
Do it, read my memories.”
She spoke but then—
“There is no point.”
Amaya shook her head.
“If there is indeed a traitor, the Infinities would make sure he or she wouldn’t be caught.
We cannot possibly fight them in that regard, things they know are far more advanced than what we do, we wouldn’t be able to catch their tricks.”
“Then what else can we do?”
Rune asked and Amaya looked at her with the same serious look and—
“As I said before—
We run experiments.”
