The Broken Halo - Chapter 388: Eternal Mind Zoo

Chapter 388: 388: Eternal Mind Zoo
’The Mad Scientist?’
It was a strange title to Simon, but many members of the clan had strange titles, so he didn’t think much of it.
’Why do I feel like I can envision the behaviour of the mad scientist? Individuals with titles like that always have a few things in common.’
He shook his head and shifted his attention back to the shelf.
He obviously didn’t care about the Mad Scientist. He was only interested in knowing the demon that was creative enough to create the Eternal Mind Maze.
’Even though the Eternal Mind Maze is an offensive technique, I still need another good offensive technique. The Eternal Mind Maze technique cannot be used all the time.’
’And the mind spear technique is not suitable for me to use as my main method of attacking.’
’I also need a defensive mental technique.’
As he had all these thoughts, he was also going checking the books on the shelves for suitable techniques.
However, ten minutes passed and he did not find one that he liked.
’Many of these techniques are highly inefficient or just weak.’
He was about to shake his head in disappointment, but he stopped and narrowed his eyes when he saw something unexpected.
’Is that…’
He tilted his head slightly in confusion, then he removed a book from the shelf.
His gaze fell on three words.
’It is. This is another technique of The Mad Scientist.’
Simon was immediately interested in this technique because of the Eternal Mind Maze which the Mad Scientist created.
He turned the book and read the title.
’Eternal Mind Zoo?’
This time around, his expression became extremely strange and he could not help but pause his thoughts and actions.
’First it was Eternal Mind Maze, now it’s Eternal Mind Zoo? Does the Mad Scientist possess an ambition of attaining an eternal mind?’
’And what is the ability of the Eternal Mind Zoo? To keep beasts for an eternity in one’s mind?’
Simon thought with a strange expression behind his mask.
He opened the book, then he began to go through it.
The more he read, the more his expression changed.
Disbelief, surprise, confusion, shock, and contemplation, intrigue, and curiosity.
His face went through these series of expressions and emotions at completely random times… then he stopped reading the book and closed it.
He looked at the front cover, and he could not help but mumble.
“The Mad Scientist… Just who are you?”
Simon believed that until he reaches a certain level of power and gets to certain places in the world, very few things would be able to shock him when it comes to skills, techniques, and power.
But the Mad Scientist had truly surprised him.
The Eternal Mind Zoo technique was just like its name, it was a technique that had to do with the creation of a zoo.
And the zoo was going to be Simon’s sea of consciousness.
The Eternal Mind Zoo technique was a technique that required Simon to kill demonic beasts, drag out their Wills from their bodies after their death, store them in his sea of consciousness, battle and subdue their Wills, enslave the Will of the demonic beast with a specific formation that was in the book, then use the Will of the demonic beast as he wished.
Compared to the Eternal Mind Maze which was more complex, the Eternal Mind Zoo was rather simple.
The only negative part of the technique is the danger, and Simon knows that the technique is a very dangerous technique.
If one is not careful, they might die when performing the technique.
’Dragging out the Wills of the demonic beasts would require a lot of mental energy, and the most dangerous part is fighting the Will of a demonic beast in one’s sea of consciousness.’
’If the demon’s mind is weak, then the battle itself can cause serious damages to the mind of the demon… even if the demon is victorious at the end of the day.’
’This technique is a very dangerous technique, and it’s not meant for just anyone.’
Although the Eternal Mind Zoo was a dangerous mental technique for an average and even above average demon, it was perfect for Simon.
’The subdued beasts can be used to attack, and they can also be used to defend against mental attacks. It’s a technique that does both. That is very rare.’
Simon’s eyes flickered with so many thoughts and calculations to the point that waves began to form in his sea of consciousness.
’But I’ll have to be careful one thing, actually, about many things. But one thing stands out.’
’I have to be careful of having my sea of consciousness corrupted.’
’I can already envision how things might proceed when I attempt to practice this technique, so I’ll have to be careful.’
There were a few things Simon could accurately guess because of his experience.
He could guess why the clan ranked such a unique and powerful mental technique as an intermediate technique.
In the hands of a demon with an average sea of consciousness, this technique would not be able to flourish.
If an average Archfiend was able to kill an average Dread Beast which is equivalent to an Archfiend, the demon would struggle to pull out the Will of the Dread Beast from its corpse, and he or she would also struggle to subdue the beast’s Will without much damage to his or her sea of consciousness.
And even after a successful subjugation, the Archfiend would find it even more difficult to subdue another beast Will because of the pressure of the first subdued beast Will.
Simon could see that the Eternal Mind Zoo was created for geniuses or for demons with a unique sea of consciousness.
For an average demon, it was highly ineffective and useless.
’And the Eternal Mind Maze also requires a demon to have a unique sea of consciousness.’
He frowned as he looked at the two books of the Mad Scientist in his hand.
’Just who in the world are you, Mad Scientist?’
