The dragon's harem - Chapter 1965: The Divine Silver Knight

Chapter 1965: The Divine Silver Knight
Later that day, Camilla had finished training and had progressed well with studying the skeletons, so she headed back to the private quarter to rest a bit, and as she walked into the hallways in her armor, the other maids stared at her for a second before one of them rushed in to lead her to the bath.
It felt a bit weird to have come last, yet to have already outranked them, but the reason for it was obvious. Almost all of the maids in the private quarter were noble ladies, daughters of prestigious families, fragile petals that had lived in peace and could only thrive in complete safety.
Compared to them, she was but a wild beast, a rugged adventurer girl who lacked all sense of decorum and fine grace. In any other royal palace, she would’ve been reduced to a mere servant, or even a common guard, as her father was in Baltos’s palace.
The answer to all of their wishes was always obvious and clear; this was Arad’s harem, not anyone else’s harem. Strength ruled over all, and beauty and grace were just secondary. She, who was stronger than they are and had even taken a step forward and become a powerful werewolf, had now crossed a line that those ladies won’t cross.
Of course, there are some maids who could fight, and exceptional ones who managed to approach Arad like Luxy. There are even some maids who served Eris and became vampires, but even they couldn’t fight; the pain, the wounds, and the agony scared them, and they chose to sit back instead of grinding forward.
She stood in the changing room, and five maids surrounded her. Two undid the straps on her back, two undid the ones on her arms and legs, and the last one removed her helmet and brought her a clean towel. She was drenched in sweat and blood.
“Send it to Lady Mira’s workshop after you’re done cleaning it, the chest plate I mean. I want it expanded a bit, by an inch or so…” She looked down at herself, “It’s getting a bit tighter.”
The maids stared at her chest. “That’s armor is made of steel, it can’t get tighter. Something else must’ve gotten bigger, and I’m sure it’s a heavyweight on your back.” One of the maids shook her head, tapped her on the back, and gave her a smug smile. “You’re quite lucky to still be growing.”
Camilla looked down, touched her breasts, and pushed them up a bit. “They are still the same size; the muscles underneath grew bigger after I became a werewolf.” That was the case with her whole body; all of her muscles grew a bit bigger overnight, and even her bones are becoming denser and heavier, making her weight almost 90 kilograms (200 pounds) while still looking like she should be around 60 kilograms (130 pounds), but got a downside as her body hair had started growing denser and spreading further.
But that wasn’t everything. With how much divine magic she could use and abuse thanks to her werewolf’s incredible durability, her hair was getting bleached by it, slowly turning blond, and it would eventually end up as pure white.
After getting bathed by the maids, shaved, and cleaned well, Camilla made her way to the hot bath, aiming to take a few cold plunges in cold tubs before warming her bones in the hot ones. On her way, two maids followed her to report a few pieces of news.
The biggest one was that the adventurers’ guild, under pressure from Nina and the people, was forced to raise Camilla’s rank to A-rank, and she would eventually be considered for S-rank if she managed to defeat one of Alice Dagon’s projections. This had meant she was already climbing up in the world, and might be able to achieve something great soon.
But the other piece of news made her shiver. The people have seen her fight the horrid monsters in the plaza, and have started calling her Divine Silver Knight. Tales of her standing like an unmoveable silver wall between the monsters and the Divine Hall of Mira were already spreading, and getting twisted into heroic folk tales and bard fables.
She was mortified to hear that the people were already idolizing her like some divine hero who came crashing down from the heavens, violated a horde of monsters, split the biggest of them in half, and then sonic boomed toward the castle like a flash of pure light.
Some even mistook her for an angel.
“Find the bards spreading those tales, and throw them behind bars for a while to shut them up.” She growled with a shiver, and the maids laughed. “No one is doing that. You might be getting famous, but you’re nowhere near Lydia.”
“What did she do?” Camilla asked, and one of the maids smiled.
“She walked out of her house, a three-meter-tall giantess of pure divine fire, and stabbed her sword into the ground, leaning on it. All monsters nearby started either disintegrating or running straight away while screaming and crying. But what was even more, everyone near her survived. The injured were healed, and the dead were revived.”
Camilla’s eyes opened wide. “She can resurrect the dead?”
“Eris had asked her, and it seems that as long as it’s within five minutes, she can revive them. Of course, some suffered some lasting disabilities or mental damage.” As long as the brain was still alive, Lydia’s magic could heal and revive the body, but of course, any brain damage they got couldn’t be reversed.
Camilla sighed. “I wonder why she didn’t rush into the city like she always does…” She asked, and two of the maids shook their heads. “Well, we know that as well.”
“What? There is a reason?”
“Yeah… that Lydia the people saw was just a projection of her divine magic. Like a mirage you see in the desert, a trick of the sun and light.” The maid scratched her cheek. “Apparently, at the time, she was getting intimate and couldn’t leave the house.”
Camilla sighed. “For a paladin, she is quite active.” She then walked with the maids into the cold bath and slowly lowered herself into the icy water. “Ah… this sting.” She gasped, relaxed, and stretched her limbs under the water. “But it is good.”
But with her foot, she touched something soft and plump. For a moment, she blinked and looked under the water, quickly finding Gamond asleep there like a crocodile. When Camilla touched her, Gamond stirred, turned around, and stood.
“You’re here?” Camilla asked, and Gamond smiled. “I just came, like an hour ago. and decided to take a quick bath. We white dragons are used to living in the frozen north, and swimming in the frigid water is a part of our lives.” Living here, where everything is dry and warm, felt quite bad for Gamond’s skin, and she would occasionally fly north to swim, or even spend more time here in the bath to cool and wet her scales.
“I heard you served under an ice queen as a maid…” Camilla stared at her, “There is something I wanted to ask you about, as someone who has centuries of experience dealing with women.”
Gamond stared at her body from head to toes, and then smiled. “You’re about the werewolf’s fur. The maids shaved you clean; no one could tell the difference, but with my eyes, I can see it, and so does Arad.”
Camilla blushed, “Well… do you have something for it?”
Gamond smiled and puffed her already massive chest. “Well, we got a spell for it, taught to Queen Isbert by Yog herself.” She lifted both of her hands up with a grin. “I’ll cast it on you the same way Yog did it. You can learn it later.”
“Really? Will it get rid of it all? Please, cast it!” Camilla was about to start jumping with happiness, but she didn’t know what awaited her.
Gamond giggled maniacally for a second. This was a ritual that every maid went through at Isbert’s castle, and now, she was going to put Camilla through it.
“I CAST! INSTANT WAX!”
That day, Camilla’s scream could be heard across the labyrinth’s dimensions as her entire body was all waxed by the spell in an instant.
