THE GOD EATER - Chapter 442: What They Cooked Up.

Chapter 442: What They Cooked Up.
The invading divine being was also so large that she reached the limit of the world. And this divine being also possessed a golden mane and other features that made it appear to be a humanoid lion.
When he saw this, he nodded to himself and said, “That divine being must belong to the Martial Body Sect. Only the people of the Martial Body Sect should be able to borrow the strength of animals or transform into animals.”
While he was talking, the two giants were pummeling each other. Each time their fists connected with each other, there was a burst of light and energy from the point of contact.
The burst of light was intense and of various colors. The intensity of the light was so high that it caused a storm to appear within the small world.
This storm expanded quickly and twisted the space around the crystal world into something resembling a whirlpool of energy. This whirlpool was colorful because of the different shades of color of the energy discharge from the fight between the two parties.
As he watched, he noticed that the rock giant was losing. The rock giant was falling apart under the intense blows of the giant humanoid lion and was trying to heal by absorbing sand and soil from the ground through its feet.
Unfortunately, the speed of its healing wasn’t as fast as the rate at which its body was breaking under the violent ministrations of the giant humanoid lion.
The faltering of the world king also affected the small world in that the large crystal as a whole was falling closer to the ground. The will of the world was also panicking and shouting at the invader to leave.
To top things off, the rock giant was also roaring in anger. Finally, he saw a white flash of light and heard a loud booming thunderclap as the body of the rock giant shattered.
Then he heard another scream from the world king, saying, “Nooooooooo!”
The sky of the small world was immediately dyed red. Then, violent waves of energy erupted from the crystal world as gales of wind that swept through the heavens of the Blessed Heaven World.
The gales of wind struck the floating city and forced it to become a boat in a storm. The heavenly city was jostled left and right as if it would capsize.
But as bad as things were for the floating city, the situation of the crystal world was much worse. The crystal world appeared to have given up resistance and was being pulled to the ground rapidly and easily.
The surface of the crystal world had also become cracked. Some parts were even missing. Colorful ripples of energy leaked through these holes in its crystal shell and made it look like the world was bleeding.
The sight of all of that energy bleeding away like blood caused his stomach to rumble in hunger. And as usual, Fenrir told him to rush forward and eat to his heart’s content.
But he ignored Fenrir and watched as the crystal world fell straight towards the white sandy desert ground of the heavens like a meteor. It left a streak of red like blood in the sky before smashing down and kicking up a dust storm.
He knew that the fight had ended, so he left the window to return to his room. As he turned around, he smiled and said to himself, “It is my world anyway, so there is no need for me to jump out now.”
For the next few days and weeks, he stayed in his room and didn’t leave it for most of the time. But he left occasionally to gamble in the city.
Over the period of three months, he earned a lot of money. Then he converted his earnings from the bets into physical energy stones.
This time, he was able to exchange his money for top-grade energy stones. So even though he earned about 509 million energy stones, he was able to carry everything in a small sack.
He was on his way back from his daily gambling when he heard about the outcome of the Heavenly Battlefield that had started a month ago.
Two people were in the market shopping together. They were both women who appeared to be friends and were both rank 4 cultivators.
Loki was passing by when he heard what they were saying. He was interested in what they were saying, so he lingered.
He heard the woman with the black hair say with a sigh, “The Myriad Phenomenon Sect did a number on everyone. It was a close call that anyone managed to survive what they cooked up.”
The other woman, a woman with red hair, asked in surprise, “How come? I thought those scholars were weak?”
The first woman replied, saying, “I heard that they set up a powerful rank 6 array and used it to borrow the power of the world.”
The red-haired woman exclaimed as she said, “Rank 6? That’s too powerful. I thought they were rank 5 cultivators. How did they manage to build a rank 6 array?”
The other woman explained, saying, “They worked together to build it. I heard about 50 rank 4 cultivators worked together to build it. Three rank 5 cultivators also helped in building it.”
When the red-haired woman heard this explanation, she nodded and said, “With that kind of power, it is no wonder they nearly killed everyone. So did they win?”
The raven-haired woman shook her head and said, “It was worse than that. It would have been better if they had won directly, because what happened was worse.”
“The will of the world took control of the array and began to use it to kill everyone. The people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect were the first to be attacked by the array. Then the array attacked everyone, too.”
The other woman began to laugh when she heard this. Her laughter was one of derision and ridicule.
