Luo Ziling didn’t sleep at home; instead, he went to Yang Qingyin’s place.

It seems he’s found the pleasure in it, as Luo Ziling has been very interested these past few days, often wanting to tease Yang Qingyin.

And Yang Qingyin seems to have the same hobby. During dinner today, she sent Luo Ziling a message asking if he would buy her fruits tonight. Luo Ziling couldn’t resist Yang Qingyin’s charm and eagerly went over.

Describing their relationship as ‘dry wood catching fire’ is not an exaggeration at all.

Half an hour after Luo Ziling arrived at Yang Qingyin’s place, they were lying sprawled on the bed.

However, neither of them intended to sleep.

Sweaty Yang Qingyin leaned into Luo Ziling’s arms, drawing circles with her fingers.

“When are we leaving for the Northwest?” she asked softly. “What preparations do we need to make?”

“The original arranged date will work. We’ll book the tickets last minute to avoid exposing our whereabouts too early and running into trouble.” Luo Ziling suggested, pinching Yang Qingyin’s body with a look of enjoyment on his face. “As for you, just bring yourself along and maybe some personal necessities.”

“Do you think someone will try to deal with us in the Northwest?” Yang Qingyin was a bit surprised.

“That’s definitely possible, but ‘us’ shouldn’t include you. At most, you’ll get caught in the crossfire.” Luo Ziling said calmly, “That kind of place is perfect for assassinations and ambushes. There’s one advantage though: my grandfather and I have lived there for twenty years; we’re familiar with the area within a hundred-mile radius.”

“Alright.” Yang Qingyin nodded, “I hope we won’t have any trouble and can have fun there for a while. By the way, will you visit my grandfather before we leave?”

“Of course I will.”

“Then visit him the day before we leave!”

Just as they were talking, Luo Ziling’s phone rang with a new message.

Luo Ziling was too lazy to check it and kept talking to Yang Qingyin.

But unexpectedly, another notification sound followed quickly.

Yang Qingyin nudged him, “Someone’s bothering you, have a look. It might be important. I’m going to take a shower!”

With that, she swiftly got up, grabbed a bath towel to cover herself, and ran into the bathroom.

Luo Ziling picked up his phone and saw a message from Phoenix.

“Come out, I need to talk to you!”

“We’re at the Lijing Coffee House near your apartment.”

Seeing the message, Luo Ziling felt quite annoyed.

But he had to go.

If Phoenix was seeking him out, it must be important.

After Yang Qingyin finished her shower, Luo Ziling embarrassingly told her he had to go out.

When she heard that Phoenix needed him, Yang Qingyin didn’t mind and told him to go quickly.

“This late at night, that woman isn’t asking you out for romance; it’s definitely something important. Go ahead,” Yang Qingyin said, stifling a yawn, “I’m exhausted from your antics. I’m going to sleep now. If it’s early, come back and sleep; if it’s late, find somewhere else.”

Luo Ziling agreed.

After a quick shower, he dressed and cuddled Yang Qingyin for a while. After her repeated complaints, he finally left.

When Luo Ziling arrived at the Lijing Coffee House, Phoenix was already there.

To his surprise, she wasn’t alone; Lin Lan was with her.

“Why didn’t you contact me today?” Luo Ziling asked Lin Lan, surprised. “I thought your team leader was trying to hit on me!”

This annoyed Phoenix; she glanced at Luo Ziling angrily and retorted, “Nothing good ever comes out of a dog’s mouth.”

“If a dog’s mouth could produce ivory, I’d buy land and start raising dogs.” Luo Ziling sat down in front of the two women, surveyed them, and joked, “Ladies, why aren’t you wearing something cooler in this heat? You’re wasting your great figures.”

“Can you not be so annoying?” Phoenix was really angered, “I asked you here for important business, not flirting.”

She then glanced at the somewhat embarrassed Lin Lan before saying, “If you want to flirt, do it after I leave!”

This made Lin Lan even more embarrassed.

“Alright, alright, I’m just joking!” Luo Ziling didn’t mind Phoenix’s anger; every time he met this woman, he couldn’t resist teasing her a bit. Teasing such a cold beauty was quite enjoyable.

“When are you heading to the Northwest?” Phoenix calmly asked.

“We’re essentially set for July 9th. I’ve asked Wang Zhenjun to contact the airline for standby tickets for the two days before and after, so we can change plans anytime.” Luo Ziling hadn’t shared the exact departure time with anyone else, but he saw no reason to hide it from Phoenix or Lin Lan.

“At that time, Lin Lan and Shanque will coordinate with you.” Phoenix spoke without emotion, “We have an operation over there, not organized by your father, so he’s unaware. It’s a mission targeting the infiltration of Russian spies into the Northern Border. Our team will deploy the day after tomorrow, a few days before you. Anyway, Lin Lan has been to your place, and the others are familiar with the terrain there. Once they complete their mission, they can find you and join you.”

Phoenix’s words surprised Luo Ziling.

“Is this true or made up?” he couldn’t help but ask, “Are you really on a mission, or just using public means for private gain?”

“Using public means for private gains, your silly head!” Phoenix was frustrated again. She always inexplicably got angry around Luo Ziling, “We’ve had this plan for a while, but the schedule has simply been moved forward.”

Thinking for a moment, Luo Ziling turned to ask Lin Lan, “Last time when you got injured, was it because of the Russian spies?”

Lin Lan hesitated for a moment but didn’t dare to say.

“It was indeed in a battle with Russian spies,” Phoenix straightforwardly revealed what happened when Lin Lan got injured, “those Russian spies stole intelligence from several strategic bases in the Northwest. We were ordered to pursue them and eventually engaged in a fight near the border.”

“What was the outcome?” Luo Ziling asked curiously.

“The Russian spies involved in the operation were completely annihilated, but we lost one team member, and two were severely injured.” Phoenix said, glancing at Lin Lan, then back at Luo Ziling, “If it weren’t for you, we would have lost two members.”

Luo Ziling regretted, “It’s unfortunate. If I had met that other team member, I might have saved his life.”

Phoenix didn’t seem to want to discuss this further and changed the subject, “This time, Lin Lan is leading the team. She’ll contact you again before departing. I asked you out today to discuss some detailed matters.”

“Alright!” Luo Ziling readily agreed.
