Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System - Chapter 118: Title Benefits

Chapter 118: Title Benefits
After witnessing the Wall Breaker fall so easily, the defenders on the wall had no words left. They were exhausted from being shocked repeatedly. At this point, even if Vikram’s Plant Team destroyed the next five waves single-handedly, they wouldn’t be surprised anymore.
Since no one was injured, the Plant Sprouts didn’t return to the wall. They simply stood on the battlefield, calmly waiting for the next wave.
Vikram glanced at the time. The next wave was approaching. He couldn’t help but wonder how much treasure he would receive from both the Plant System and the Wasteland System. Even if he got the RPG launcher as a reward, he no longer felt it was impossible.
Soon, the portals stabilized once more.
This time, there were noticeably more portals than before. The Necrotic Fog had become thicker, darker, and pulsed with ominous red lightning.
From the portal, 5000 normal zombies, 800 Elite Zombies, 20 Apex Zombies, and 1 Boss Zombie Wall Breaker appeared.
Seeing the number of Apex Zombies had increased fivefold, Vikram turned to Isha and said calmly,
“Aunt, now I need help from your team.”
Isha nodded without hesitation. She quickly assigned roles, “Pooja, Imran, Raghav, Arjun, and James, joined in the battle.”
They nodded and moved into position.
Pooja chose to target the Plague Bringer, clearly intending to compete with the Fire Mage Sprout.
Imran and Raghav decided to work together with the Guardian and Warrior Druids to take down the Hulkings and Colossus first, with James and the Archer Sprouts providing long-range support. After watching the previous battles, they had learned how to efficiently finish the zombies.
Arjun paired with the Light Mage Sprout to handle the Shadow Lurker, while the Water Mage Sprout would focus on controlling the Wall Breaker.
The battle began immediately.
The Fire Mage Sprout opened with Ember Meteor. A massive flaming projectile crashed down from the sky, creating a huge explosion that wiped out nearly all 5000 normal zombies in one strike. Only a handful of Elite Zombies remained, which Pooja quickly burned down with her flames.
As planned, Imran engaged the first Hulking. The moment he landed a solid hit, he noticed something strange, the Hulking felt 20 to 30 percent weaker than the ones from yesterday. He dismissed it as his imagination and signaled James.
James aimed his Viper-X Longshot, saving the rarer Anaconda-X bullets, and fired, blinding one eye of the Hulking. At the exact same moment, an arrow from one of the Archer Sprouts pierced the other eye.
James gave the Archer Sprouts a sharp stare. The two sprouts simply looked back at him blankly, not understanding why the human was glaring at them, then continued blinding the other Hulkings without pause.
When Raghav struck his Hulking, he too felt the same thing, it was noticeably weaker. He quickly asked Imran, who confirmed the same doubt. But there was no time to discuss it.
Because the Guardian Druid and Warrior Druid had already killed two Hulkings with ruthless efficiency.
—
Meanwhile, when Pooja finished off her Plague Bringer, she also noticed it was 20–30% weaker than the one she had fought yesterday.
The same thing happened with Arjun. When the Light Mage Sprout forced the Shadow Lurker into the light, Arjun finished it off and felt the creature was significantly easier than before.
In just under 20 minutes, the battlefield was almost empty. Only the Zombie Leader, the Wall Breaker, remained standing, its rockets completely exhausted thanks to the Water Mage Sprout’s perfect control.
From the wall, Sana, Kavya, and the others turned to Isha with puzzled expressions.
“Captain,” Sana asked, “did everyone suddenly become stronger overnight? Or is it because they saw Vikram’s Plant Team fighting, and the adrenaline made them fight with full power?”
Isha was equally confused. Her team members had never performed this well before. She had her doubts, but decided she would ask them properly after this wave ended.
Even Vikram felt the same surprise. ’How did they suddenly become so much stronger?’
There was no longer any surprise when the Zombie Leader Wall Breaker was also toyed with and killed by the Water Mage Sprout and the rest of the Plant Team working together.
—
Seeing that the sixth wave had also been cleared so easily, everyone on the wall now felt confident. With Vikram here, the remaining four waves would probably be just as straightforward.
When Pooja, Imran, Raghav, and Arjun returned to the wall, Isha immediately asked the question that had been bothering her.
“How did you all suddenly become so much stronger in a single night?”
Imran answered first, “Captain, it’s not that we became stronger. It feels like… the zombies have suddenly become weaker.”
“What?” Isha frowned, not believing it at first.
“Yes, Captain,” Raghav and Arjun added. Pooja also nodded in agreement.
Hearing this, Isha became shocked for a few seconds; she couldn’t believe it easily.
She thought that Vikram was a god-favored child and that the zombies had somehow become weaker during his time.
Vikram, who was listening nearby, was also shocked at first. Then he suddenly remembered something.
He remembered about the title he got after clearing the Zombie Ruin. However, he wondered if it should only apply to him right? To confirm it, he looked toward his title in the system.
[Achievement Unlocked: Title — Zombie Conqueror (Purple)]
[Effect: Damage dealt to zombie-type creatures +30%. All attributes +10% when facing boss-type or leader-type undead.]
[Enhanced Intimidation: Mid and low-grade zombie creatures may hesitate, slow down, or lose coordination in your presence.]
[Passive Aura: Fear Immunity against zombie-type mental effects. Killing intent greatly amplified, granting heightened focus and battle clarity.]
[Zombie Suppression: After killing a zombie-type boss, the host can suppress nearby zombies for a short duration, weakening their coordination and preventing group-based actions.]
[Team Boost Available]
Everything was the same as before, but at the end, there was an extra line: Team Boost Available, which he might not have noticed clearly the first time.
Vikram leaned close to Isha’s ear and whispered the details of his title, careful not to let others hear, as he didn’t want to announce his title to everyone.
He even didn’t want to tell her, but since everyone was already experiencing it, it only made them think about it continuously. And it may in the end, they also doubt about him, so before she became tired and tried every way possible to find out about this. He told her, and second since he already took her virginity, he didn’t need to hide his title from her.
Hearing this, Isha’s eyes widened in shock once again. It wasn’t just the 30% suppression effect on zombies, it was the fact that Vikram had obtained a Purple-level (Epic) Title.
Titles were already rare, and the conditions to obtain them were even rarer. But his title was of a purple level, an Epic title.
She wanted to announce it proudly, but seeing Carol standing nearby, she quickly suppressed her excitement. She whispered back to Vikram, “Don’t reveal this to anyone for now.”
Then she turned to her team and said calmly, “We’ll talk about this later.”
The others nodded and turned their attention back to the battlefield, waiting for the next wave.
—
When the time passed and the clock hit 10:00, the portals stabilized again and zombies started pouring out.
This time there were literally 8000 Normal Zombies, 1200 Elite Zombies, and 40 Apex Zombies. And not only that, but this time there were two Boss Zombies, both Wall Breakers.
Seeing two Wall Breakers appear, Vikram looked at Isha, “Aunt, now I need help from your team.”
Isha nodded. “Don’t worry. Leave the Wall Breakers to me. Just order your Water Mage Sprout to protect me from the rockets.”
Vikram immediately ordered the Water Mage Sprout to guard his aunt from any danger. Isha, together with Pooja, Imran, Raghav, and Arjun, jumped down from the wall and entered the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Vikram took out two seeds, one Phantom Sprout and one Assassin Sprout, and started sowing them directly on the wall. He also had three Mage Sprout seeds, but he didn’t want to sow them right now.
He only had six medium Growth Acceleration charges left and wanted to save them for later. Looking at how the fight was going, he didn’t think he needed them yet.
But he didn’t know that because he was saving them, he would end up in danger today. He also didn’t realize that if his Mage Sprouts had grown, they would have leveled up after the battle.
“Vikram, what are you doing?” Kavya, Sana, and Ayesha asked him, watching as he sowed the seed-like things on the wall.
And most importantly, even if they were some kind of fruit or plant seeds, how could they possibly grow on the stone wall?
“You will see,” Vikram replied and continued sowing them. He used one Small Growth Acceleration and one Medium Growth Acceleration. Soon, both seeds started to take root and grow into mobile plants.
One seed was dark-colored and rested quietly in the soil. After a moment, a faint pulse came from it, like a heartbeat. The ground around it trembled slightly as green energy spread through the soil. The seed cracked open, and a tiny sprout emerged with two soft glowing leaves.
Then it began to grow rapidly. The thin stem thickened and darkened as layers of bark formed around it, turning soft plant fibers into a strong, flexible structure. The leaves sharpened, their edges becoming thinner and more dangerous, while their glow intensified.
Its shape started changing into a humanoid form. Limbs formed from tightly woven vine-like muscles, covered with natural bark armor. Its feet briefly rooted into the ground before lifting, showing it was now fully independent.
Energy gathered around its arms as the leaves extended and transformed into sharp, curved blades. These blades looked natural but deadly, perfectly suited for close combat.
Its head formed next, covered by a hood-like layer of dark leaves. Then its glowing green eyes opened, sharp and focused, giving it a calm but predatory presence.
A small sprout remained on top of its head, showing its origin, but the rest of its body became compact and agile, built for speed and silent movement.
