Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System - Chapter 209: Hospital Must Be A Ruin

Upon seeing a Zombie of this level, Vikram’s heart instantly sank to the bottom.
Looking at the Legendary-level creature so close at hand, he could feel his heart pounding endlessly.
It was the same darkness, which he had previously seen from far, and without hesitation, ran away quickly.
“Gulp” Vikram swallowed as he watched the Zombie slowly approach in his line of sight.
He saw that the ’Attending Physician’ had already raised one hand again, about to reach for him.
Vikram’s hair stood on end; he couldn’t care about anything else, taking a huge leap, he instantly vaulted over Andres.
“Phanty, vine,” He shouted, and soon Phantom Druid appeared there, his hands stretched and turned into vine.
Vikram held it, and without caring about anything he jumped from the fourth floor to directly the first floor, followed by Phanty also arrived with him.
During this time, he couldn’t help but glance at Andres, who was still in place, utterly confused.
He didn’t seem to have noticed anything unusual, merely wondering why Vikram would let him go without cause.
But the next second, a shrill scream echoed throughout the entire Hospital building.
By this time, Vikram had already rushed out of the main Hospital building.
Along the way, he encountered Abhishek, who was still wandering on the first floor, and ignoring the puzzled looks of the other Brown Wood Shelter members, he dragged him out as well.
“Brother, you’re finally out. Do you know that Andres, whose physique I just said broke forty, has been looking for you everywhere?”
“If you had come down any later, I would have thought you were already beaten to death.” Abhishek’s tone seemed very worried about Vikram, but his expression was entirely one of regret.
However, Vikram at this moment was too lazy to care about so much.
“Less nonsense, something big is about to happen in the Hospital. You should go back to your Brown Wood Shelter now, or don’t blame me if you die.”
With that, Vikram plunged into the black fog without waiting to see if he had heard him.
He only bothered to remind Abhishek because he didn’t want to waste this informant, who he had so painstakingly placed in the Brown Wood Shelter.
If he wasn’t sensible and died, then so be it; he would just find a way to replace him.
“What the hell is going on? He just dumped a pile of mess and ran off like that?”
Looking at Vikram disappearing from view, Abhishek gritted his teeth in anger, but there was nothing he could do.
As for what Vikram had just said, he naturally wasn’t in the mood to listen.
He was about to go back and ask the team leaders what was going on when a huge tremor came from the Hospital behind him.
“What the hell?”
“An earthquake?”
“But isn’t this natural disaster the black fog? How can there be an earthquake?”
Scratching the back of his head in confusion, Abhishek remembered what Vikram had just said and subconsciously linked the two events together.
At the same time, he kept moving his feet, cautiously retreating a few meters outside the Hospital.
“It seems only the hospital is shaking?”
Thinking this, Abhishek slowly retreated from the Hospital area, and sure enough, the feeling of weightlessness significantly lessened.
“The Hospital isn’t going to collapse, is it?” This thought immediately arose in his mind as he looked at the still trembling building.
But what he didn’t know was that the real situation was far more complex than he imagined.
Just as he was still hesitating whether to get closer to investigate, a series of heart-wrenching roars suddenly erupted from within the Hospital.
Abhishek, standing at a distance and observing, saw a group of members from his own territory stream out.
Each of them had the same look of panic on their faces, and they, who were known for their orderliness, were now completely in disarray.
Everyone was running desperately out of the hospital, and even a few high-ranking leaders were among this fleeing group.
Seeing that even these powerful individuals, whose physiques exceeded 40 points, were running for their lives in panic, how could Abhishek dare to be arrogant? He immediately turned around and joined the large group of fleeing people, sprinting in the opposite direction from the hospital.
During this time, he didn’t forget to turn his head and glance back into the hospital. It was a good thing he hadn’t looked earlier; just this one glance revealed a scene he would never forget for the rest of his life…
On the other side, Vikram, who had discovered the appearance of the Legendary Zombie, had already gotten into his RV and accelerated away from the hospital the moment he left.
So, of course, he didn’t know about the chaos unfolding behind him.
The pressure from the Legendary Zombie had already been great enough for him. Although many areas of the hospital had not been fully explored, Vikram didn’t regret it at all now. With a creature of that terrifying strength appearing before him, it was already a blessing to have escaped successfully.
Recalling his previous encounter, Vikram, sitting in the driver’s seat, still felt a lingering fear in his heart. But after calming down a little, he immediately noticed something was amiss.
“That super zombie’s speed value has already reached 82 points. Logically, if I had been targeted, I shouldn’t have had any chance to escape.”
“But when I left, the other party showed no intention of chasing me at all.”
“Could there be some kind of restriction?”
Thinking of this, Vikram couldn’t help but recall the restriction that bosses in ruins couldn’t leave their ruins. After pondering for a long time, he not only failed to figure out the specific reason why he had managed to escape, but he also realized an even more important issue.
“That’s right, a ruin?”
“This hospital is a ruin. It must be a ruin.”
Immediately, Vikram reached a decision. If it was truly just a simple resource point, then a Super Zombie could appear in the Wasteland World at any time.
And currently, Super Zombies shouldn’t be appearing in the Wasteland World, or at least, that was what he had thought.
This terrifying conjecture instantly filled his mind, and the more Vikram thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
Recalling the overwhelming feeling of powerlessness when he encountered the zombie named Attending Physician earlier, he instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
Leaving aside hot weapons for now, Vikram had only focused on escaping at the time and hadn’t even tried using them. At the very least, in close combat, with his current physique, he had no chance of fighting it.
Not even Phanty had such terrifying stats as the Attending Physician Zombie.
Now, he decided it was time to buy the Medium Primal Evolution Fruit.
Previously, he hadn’t found any requirement for using them, but now he felt the urgent need.
And not only that, he also needed this ruin. His return to the territory was only a temporary step back. After preparing properly, he would come back again.
This time, he would bring his full army of Plants. Although killing the Super Zombie might only require two or three members of his Plants Team, he knew that after clearing one ruin, another would appear.
And after facing the Split King previously, he couldn’t afford to go without proper preparation.
For the next few days, he planned to prepare everything thoroughly. Then he would return to the ruin, kill the Attending Physician Zombie, and see what the next ruin would bring.
Thinking of this, Vikram immediately sped up his return to the territory.
He had blended into Brown Wood Shelter early in the morning, and by the time he returned to the territory, it was already evening.
Vikram gently drove his RV into the parking area.
The moment he entered Territory 2, Divya, Sophia, and Anjali appeared outside to greet him.
“Are you injured? Are you alright?” As soon as Vikram got out of the RV, Divya noticed the bloodstains on him and asked with concern.
As she spoke, she stepped forward and gently prodded his shoulder, her brows tightly furrowed.
“It’s nothing, just a minor injury. I’ve already treated it with ointment.”
He then remembered that Divya had mentioned the hole left by the arrow in his shoulder, and he slowly explained.
Divya only breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that there was indeed no wound inside the torn cotton clothes.
Looking at Divya’s worried eyes, Vikram’s gloomy mood immediately improved significantly.
“Stinky Vikram, didn’t we agree that you’d take me with you this time when you went out? Why did you sneak off by yourself again?”
“Hmph, serve you right for not taking me; you got injured again.” Anjali, standing to the side with her hands on her hips, said crossly.
Hearing this, Vikram just gave a wry smile and didn’t say much.
He knew that although Anjali seemed to be blaming him, she was actually worried about him and was only showing fake anger.
“Alright, I promise to take you with me next time we explore resources. Let’s go back inside first.”
“By the way, how did you two know I was coming back so early?”
“My RV shouldn’t be making that much noise, right?”
“Because when we have nothing to do, we observe the outside situation from the observation room.”
“Speaking of which, Vikram, do you remember me telling you a few days ago that someone was always loitering outside our territory?”
Vikram thought for a moment, then nodded. It seemed there was indeed such a group of people; he had even bumped into a few of them when he returned with the people from Savage Wolf Shelter.
“It’s them. They’ve been coming here a lot these past few days,” Divya said with a sigh.
“The most annoying thing is that as soon as we go out to find them, those sneaky Survivors immediately run away like rats, only to return a few days later to continue staking out the area,” Sophia added, clearly irritated.
Anjali crossed her arms and nodded vigorously. “Exactly! They don’t even dare to fight. They just hide in the distance like cowards, staring at our territory all day long. It’s so creepy! Divya, Sophia, and I are practically driven crazy by them. Every time we try to chase them away, they scatter like scared rabbits. Cowards!”
She swung her small pink fist in the air angrily. “If they didn’t run so fast, I’d beat them black and blue! They’re so shameless — always peeking and spying but never having the guts to actually do anything.”
“Even Archy wants to leave the territory to chase them down and kill them,” Divya said, shaking her head. “But I stopped him. We can’t take risks just because of these worthless spies.”
“There’s also this matter?” Vikram frowned. He rarely paid attention to the observation room, but hearing Anjali and the others complain like this, he finally understood how irritating the situation had become.
With doubts swirling in his mind, Vikram entered the territory.
It was over twenty degrees below zero outside, and the moment he stepped into the warm territory, it felt like entering spring. A deep sense of exhaustion immediately washed over him after the long, tense day.
However, Vikram was not in the mood to rest now. His mind was filled with various troubling thoughts. First was the rapid construction and expansion of the territory, which demanded more and more resources every day. Second were the hidden dangers of going out to collect supplies.
For example, the increasing number of zombies, the mysterious Hospital not far from here that had nearly cost him his life, he also needs to return there, and now an aggressive neighbor who kept sending scouts to observe his territory. With such a pile of troubles weighing on his shoulders, he couldn’t help but rub his temples wearily.
