Chapter 1410: Impenetrable armour

The lion struggled as much as it could, but there really wasn’t much that the lion could do in the end.

All that happened was that the lion collapsed to the ground once it ran out of breath.

But before it died, Hayase released the water ball around the lion to let it breathe once more.

The lion was completely drained from its battle with life and death as it gasped for breath. However, it was clear that this fight was over with the way that the lion laid there completely soaked.

It almost didn’t even seem like a lion anymore with how wet its mane was.

It looked like a large cat that was wet and frightened.

When a beast was beaten like this, there was only one thought that would be on its mind. Since it wasn’t able to fight, then the only thing that it could do was run.

It was just that Hayase had already predicted that the lion would do such a thing. So before the lion could even move, there were these water bubbles that appeared around its limbs.

All that the lion could do was struggle as it was lifted off the ground. The way that it shook made it clear just how much it was struggling.

The reason that Hayase didn’t finish this lion off right away was because of Lin Fan’s orders.

Once Hayase had incapacitated the lion, he turned back around and flew over to where Lin Fan was with the lion floating behind him.

Lin Fan just came over to take a look at the lion, but it didn’t seem like there was anything special about this lion. At the same time, he didn’t really feel like there were any prospects that the lion had.

Instead, he just simply asked the lion, “Where is your den?”

Lin Fan had seen where the lion came out from, but he wanted the lion to lead the way. After all, it was more certain that he would find them if he had the lion lead the way to the den.

The lion was confused about all of this, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that the lion could do when it was trapped like this. It was made even worse when Hayase suddenly created blades of water that it put against the lion’s throat.

With its defenses, the lion would have ignored these water blades.

However, it only took a single instant for the lion to find that these blades were much stronger than it thought. Even with its defense, the lion found that these water blades were more than enough to cut through its skin.

That meant that from the very beginning, Hayase could have easily dealt with the lion.

It meant that the lion was nothing more than a fool that was dancing on the palm of their hands.

The only reason that Hayase had used that water bubble was because he had wanted to capture the lion alive instead of killing it.

Once this realization settled in, the lion finally calmed down.

It knew that nothing it did would help its current situation.

Not to mention that if it continued resisting like this, then it would only be a matter of time before they really disposed of it. So the only thing that this lion could do was go along with their demands and hope that they would release it.

This time, the lion really looked like a cat with the expression that it had on its face.

This king of the beasts was now acting like some kind of common house pet.

It even acted in a way that seemed like it was trying to show that it had been completely tamed. It was as if the lion was willing to do whatever they wanted it to do.

Lin Fan didn’t bother with this as he had the lion lead the way to the den.

Once they were at the den, he had Hayase send the lion to the side to be taken care of since there was no longer a need for the lion. After all, Lin Fan already felt the sensation from what he wanted to find the moment that he arrived in this place.

It was actually right in the center of the lion’s den.

The lion had wanted to protect this thing with all that it had, so it had secured it in the safest place in the middle of its den.

Which was why it was so easy to find.

Lin Fan went forward to see what it was and he found that it was just a boulder that was in the center of this den. Though from the fluctuations that came from the boulder, it really was hard to confuse this for something else.

So that was why Lin Fan didn’t waste any time going forward to put his hand on the boulder.

The moment that he did, the boulder disappeared in an instant.

Lin Fan was also surprised by how quickly this thing disappeared, but it didn’t take him long to realize why this was the case. After all, this thing wasn’t what it had seemed on the outside.

The truth was that there was a core inside of the boulder and the boulder itself was nothing more than a distraction. That core was the true pure elemental energy item, the boulder around it was nothing more than a shell that it could abandon at any moment.

This was a protective measure that the core used just in case it wanted to escape.

But there was no escaping from Lin Fan.

After he absorbed this thing, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to use the power that he had just gained.

Since this was earth elemental energy, it actually fused with something that he had absorbed before. But that didn’t mean that this thing’s power was lost, it just meant that it combined with the one that he had already absorbed.

So that was why he was testing out this new power to see what it was capable of.

“Armour?” He looked down at his skin after he used this new power.

What happened was that there was a layer of rock armour that appeared on his skin after he used this power.

This layer of rock armour quickly spread out around him and it formed a real set of armour around him. It was the kind of armour that seemed like it would be able to protect him from anything that came at him.

Lin Fan looked down at this armour for a bit before walking out of the den.

When he came out, he saw Hayase coming back from dealing with the lion.

Even now, the lion had an aggrieved look on its face as if it couldn’t accept what had happened to it. But there was nothing that the lion could do since this was a world where the strong trampled on the weak.

Before Hayase could drop the lion’s body, Lin Fan suddenly said, “Hit me.”

Hayase was surprised to hear this, but there wasn’t as much hesitation as one thought there would be. After receiving this order, Hayase attacked Lin Fan with water blades that he generated.

Only the moment that these water blades hit the rock armour, they immediately bounced off and were destroyed. They weren’t able to leave a single scratch on the rock armour that Lin Fan gathered around himself.

This was the kind of armour that seemed like it was completely impregnable.

Hayase didn’t seem to give up when it saw that all of its attacks bounced off the rock armour. It seemed like Hayase was even more inspired when it saw this as it started gathering more and more water around itself.

It didn’t take long for a giant spear of water to stab right at Lin Fan.

This spear gathered all of the power that Hayase could wield, it was trying to use everything that it had to destroy that layer of rock armour. But in the end, Hayase wasn’t able to leave a single scratch on it.

Lin Fan knew that it wasn’t because Hayase lacked power.

After all, the spear that it had used was an attack that used the draconic power that Hayase possessed and was much stronger than anything that he had used before.

It was so strong that it even reached the Soul Building Realm even though Hayase was still in the Golden Core Realm. But even then, it wasn’t able to leave a single scratch on the armour that Lin Fan summoned.

“This really is powerful.”

Then without a word, he raised his hand to point his finger at Hayase.

The moment that he did this, there was a layer of rock armour that appeared around Hayase as well. It was just that this armour didn’t care about what Hayase wanted to do, so Hayase couldn’t control it at all.

It was a set of armour that was completely under Lin Fan’s control, so he was the only one that could move it.

That meant that this armour was basically a cage for Hayase.

Hayase was still able to use his abilities to attack the rock armour that had appeared around himself, but he really wasn’t able to do anything to this rock armour that had been formed.

“Let me out already!”

When Hayase shouted this, Lin Fan released the rock armour that he created around Hayase.

Once he was free, Hayase glared at Lin Fan for doing that to him.

But Lin Fan just muttered to himself, “It seems like there are many ways to use this. This power isn’t bad at all.”
