The more that the hind acted this way, the more that Lin Fan was certain that its mentality was that of a child.

However, it did give him a strange feeling since there were enough sightings of the hind that made it clear that it was much older than him in terms of physical age.

“Why does its mind develop this slowly? Is it because it can live much longer than any normal being with its identity as a divine beast?”

This wasn’t something that he could figure out, so he focused more on what the hind showed him.

It turned out that the speed that the hind possessed wasn’t the only thing that it could be proud of. The hind was a divine beast, so it actually had a wide variety of abilities that it could draw on.

Not only that, since it was the divine beast that followed two different gods, it meant that the abilities that it possessed were of different attributes.

The speed that it used was just because of its compassion which was strange in a world where it was dog eat dog. Of course, this was only possible because of the power that the gods granted it.

Since the hind was a follower of Artemis, that meant that it was able to use abilities related to her domain.

It turned out that this allowed the hind to go from the hunted to the hunter.

The ability that Artemis granted it was the ability to actually fire arrows like a hunter would. Not only that, the divine power that Artemis gave the hind was the ability to never miss.

This ability turned all of the arrows that the hind fired into homing arrows.

It seemed that no matter which target Lin Fan designated, the hind would be able to send its attacks right to where the target was. With how the arrows even turned in the middle of the air, it was clear that there was some kind of power that made it homing.

This was certainly not the kind of power that could be normally found, this was the kind of power that could only be considered divine.

At the same time, it didn’t seem like there was a limit to how many arrows the hind could create. After all, the arrows all came out of the horns on the hind’s head.

The way that the hind fired the arrows was that it gathered the energy in its horns and then formed a bowstring that was attached to those horns. Once that bowstring was formed, the arrows would naturally appear and would be fired from that makeshift bow.

However, it didn’t fire the way that one would expect.

Instead of it being fired like some kind of bow, it actually fired it like some kind of crossbow turret. The rate of fire was something that Lin Fan didn’t expect at all.

It was on the same level as an automatic rifle with how many arrows were being shot out in the end.

This definitely wasn’t the power that a normal hind would have possessed.

After showing this off, the hind stopped in a way that seemed like it was gathering power for a final attack. It seemed like it was charging up to release one big powerful attack.

As it did this, Lin Fan could sense the sensation that came from its horns.

This was different from when the hind shot out those arrows, this one felt like it could even pierce a hole through anything.

With the sensation that this charged attack was giving off, Lin Fan knew that this would be dangerous.

So instead of releasing a normal kind of target, he released one that was made up of pure elemental energy. He wasn’t certain that this would even be strong enough to stop it, but at least it had a better chance than the normal target.

Only the moment that he did this, the expression on the face of the hind changed in a way that made Lin Fan reveal a bitter smile.

“Stop thinking that it’s a challenger.” Lin Fan said to the hind, but it didn’t seem like it was listening to him with how it still looked at the target. It was as if the hind was determined to pierce a hole into this target with its attack.

There was nothing that Lin Fan could do to stop this hind from doing this, so the only thing that he could do was watch as it prepared to punch this hole in the target.

In the end, he found that this ultimate attack of the hind was actually a beam.

It wasn’t just any beam that it released, it seemed like a beam of pure heat and energy that it shot.

“It gathered the power of the sun itself.” That was the best way to describe it.

Though it wasn’t surprising since the other god that was behind this hind was Apollo, the God of the Sun. With this god backing the hind, it only made sense that it would be able to gather the power of the sun itself.

However, it didn’t seem like it was enough to penetrate through this.

Since he had only been using regular targets, Lin Fan hadn’t realized it yet.

But the moment that he used a special target, it was hard to hide the fact that the hind just didn’t have enough power behind its attacks.

It had seemed imposing, but the real power behind the attack was lacking.

It was only because it was an attack that relied on the power of a god that it seemed imposing, but in reality it didn’t seem like the hind was able to fully channel the power of this attack.

With how little the hind did to the target, it just simply couldn’t draw on the power of the god behind it at all.

Lin Fan even felt a bit sorry for the hind seeing it struggle like this.

So while the hind was doing all that it could to destroy the target with the laser, Lin Fan snuck a little something into the target. It was only a tiny bit of the void power that he could command, but it was enough that it was able to start absorbing part of the laser.

There was no problem at all as the void power drained a bit of the laser’s energy away.

That was until the hind seemed to run out of energy.

What the void power did was drain the energy behind the attack, so it was only natural that it would drain the power that the hind possessed.

However, after the void power absorbed the energy of the laser, there was something that Lin Fan didn’t expect that happened. Instead of absorbing the power that he absorbed from the laser, it seemed like his void power wasn’t able to break it down.

It had absorbed it into his dantian, but it just floated there in the middle of the black hole. No matter how the void power tried to exert itself on that power, it didn’t seem like there was any effect at all.

“It’s no wonder it’s power that came from a god…” Lin Fan gave a secret bitter laugh seeing this before channeling this divine power somewhere else.

“This is only a fragment of divine power that is less than one millionth of the power contained within a divine relic.”

That was the response that the system gave him.

So by the standard of the system, he would have to do this a million times just to be able to provide one relic’s worth of energy to the system.

It wasn’t as if the hind was capable of doing this forever with how it had been drained after using its strongest attack on the target. This was not something that could be done quickly or for a prolonged period.

“It’s more effective to just directly find a relic…”

That was the conclusion that Lin Fan came to in the end.

After the hind recovered enough to move again, it looked up at Lin Fan as if it was waiting for something from him. It was looking at him the same way that a child would look at their parents while waiting for praise.

Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head with a faint smile seeing this as he felt like he had just watched a talent show, but he still praised the hind in the end.

The power that it had demonstrated was worthy of this.

“Here’s some training partners for you.” Lin Fan summoned the rest of his pets as he said this.

He didn’t know what to expect from this, but he was hoping that the hind would be able to incite them as a divine beast. Or the hind would be able to affect them in some way since it was a divine beast.

“So you’re new here.” Hayase spoke for the rest of the pets when they met the hind.

The other pets were a bit intimidated by the hind because of the aura that it released as a divine beast. It was only Hayase who had a dragon bloodline that could go against that aura.

The hind didn’t fear Hayase, it just looked right back at it with narrowed eyes.

In short, it was the meeting of children for the first time.
