With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1431: Gate (1)

Chapter 1431: Gate (1)
As they approached, the other side saw them too and started shouting at them directly to help.
However, neither Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan moved to help them.
After all, it wasn’t as if they were on the same side.
The ones that had gotten here first were disciples of the Mount Hua Sword Sect, this was obvious with the techniques that they used to protect themselves. They were slashing out with sword energy at the traps that they triggered.
It was just that there were too many traps that were here and they had gotten too deep.
The traps weren’t traps that only triggered once, it seemed like they could be triggered again and again. At the same time, it didn’t seem like the ones from the Mount Hua Sword Sect even knew where the triggers for the traps were.
Which was why they kept triggering them as they tried to retreat.
Seeing that they wouldn’t help, the Mount Hua Sword Sect disciples cursed them before suddenly releasing their sword energy to attack Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan.
The problem was that this sword energy never reached them.
“So even sword energy can trigger the traps. What kind of trigger is being used for them?” Lin Fan muttered under his breath.
From the corner of his eyes, he could see that Ye Qing Huan was thinking the same thing.
The main reason that neither of them didn’t do anything wasn’t just because these people were from the Mount Hua Sword Sect. The main reason that they didn’t help was because they were observing the situation inside of the pavilion.
The pavilion itself was completely empty and it seemed to lead deeper into the Dao Sect.
So if one wanted to go deeper into the Dao Sect, they would have no choice but to go through this same pavilion in front of them that was releasing all of these traps.
As such, it was best to learn as much as they could from these people currently trapped inside. Not to mention that they were too far for Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan to do anything to help them without harming themselves.
This was just their just desserts.
Seeing that they couldn’t do anything, the ones from the Mount Hua Sword Sect seemed to have come to a conclusion about their fate.
“Sacrifice yourselves for me!”
The leader of the Mount Hua Sword Sect group suddenly grabbed his companions and started using them as human shields. They never thought that the leader that they trusted would use them like this, so they weren’t able to react in time.
However, since the leader had lost control of all inhibitions and was just running straight, it didn’t matter if he had human shields or not. All of the traps that were activated hit them head on and there wasn’t a single thing that was left of them.
It really seemed like a cruel fate, but it could be said that he deserved this for the way that he acted.
In the end, he let down the ones that had trusted him.
But none of that mattered to Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan.
For them, they were simply waiting for their turn to go through the pavilion.
Now that the ones from the Mount Hua Sword Sect were gone, it should have been their turn to move through this place. Only neither of them moved as they stood exactly where they had been standing the entire time.
As they stood there, both of them stared at the pavilion in front of them with knitted brows.
When they finally looked at each other, both of them could see what the other was thinking and both of them gave a sigh.
“So you don’t have any idea either.”
There was no need to say this, but it was still a problem since they had to move through this pavilion.
Or rather Lin Fan knew that they had to move through this pavilion.
Ye Qing Huan had no idea why Lin Fan had led them to this place, but she believed that he had his reasons for doing so. Which was why she had been focused on trying to find a way through this place as well.
It really didn’t seem like they would be able to find a way through until Lin Fan suddenly noticed something.
“The patterns on the floor…”
Once he noticed this, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to pull out a piece of paper that he spread out in front of him. At this point, it wasn’t about keeping things a secret anymore since it was their lives at stake.
Ye Qing Huan naturally saw the piece of paper that Lin Fan pulled out, but she turned away as if she didn’t see anything. She knew that if he had kept it hidden until now, he must have had his reason for doing so.
So before Lin Fan chose to tell her, she would trust in him and look away.
After looking at the piece of paper and the pattern on the floor for a while, Lin Fan couldn’t help suddenly breaking out in laughter.
“Is it really that simple?”
Ye Qing Huan raised a brow and turned back to Lin Fan to ask, “Did you notice something?”
“It’s so simple that it’s amazing that we didn’t notice it sooner. But then again, this isn’t something that one would be looking for in a place like this. It’s so simple that it might even seem like a trap, right?” Lin Fan said this as if he was talking to himself, as if he was trying to justify this to himself.
Ye Qing Huan still looked at him with that brow raised, but she didn’t say anything as she let him talk to himself like this.
When it was finally over, that was when Lin Fan took a deep breath and said, “I’ve found the path.”
Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything in response since her eyes showed that she trusted Lin Fan when he said this, but he didn’t move forward even though she gave him this trust.
Instead, he raised the map that he was holding and said, “Through an unknown source, I was able to find this map. It should technically guide us through the Dao Sect ruins, but I’m not certain of its validity. At the very least, it was able to guide us to this place.”
The last part was almost as if he was trying to convince himself of this.
But in the end, Ye Qing Huan just gave a simple nod before saying, “It’s fine. I don’t need to know where you got this thing. As long as it’s you who has it, I’m fine trusting you.”
An awkward look appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this, but he didn’t say anything in response. He knew that the moment that he said anything, it would cheapen the sentiment that Ye Qing Huan was showing.
So he gave a simple nod in response before turning back to the pavilion.
Since he was the one with the map, the only way to show sincerity was to be the first one that went into the pavilion. If a trap were to trigger, then he would have to be the one that dealt with it.
Though it seemed like Ye Qing Huan had different plans.
Even though she looked like she was going to let him lead the way forward, the way that she followed right behind him told a different story. It was as if she was putting herself in a position to step forward and block the trap for Lin Fan if something were to happen.
Seeing this, Lin Fan stopped moving forward to turn around and face Ye Qing Huan.
Neither of them said anything, but the way that they looked at each other already made it very clear what they were saying. And at this rate, it seemed like neither side was planning to back down.
But eventually, Lin Fan was able to convince Ye Qing Huan to take two steps back.
That was as far as she was willing to concede.
She would be able to escape if something happened, but she would also be able to help if need be.
Once she made this concession, Lin Fan turned back around.
Though as he did this, he couldn’t help giving a secret sigh.
Once he turned around, Lin Fan looked carefully on the ground before looking at the map once more. He was making sure that the path that he was about to follow was the right one after all.
Though on the map, it certainly was drawn much simpler than it was in real life.
However, he was able to confirm that the path that he saw was the right path.
Then tiles themselves had the pattern on them which showed that they were a path.
It was just that all of this really did seem a bit too simple…
In the end, he raised a foot and slowly stepped onto that first panel.
The moment that he did, Lin Fan was already prepared to jump back in case there was some kind of trap that was activated. But it seemed like this wasn’t needed as there was nothing that happened.
Before Lin Fan could react, Ye Qing Huan had already moved onto the tile with him.
This tile itself was quite big, so it wasn’t a problem supporting the both of them like this.
Only Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head and giving a sigh when he saw this.
