With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1433: Useful trinkets (1)

Chapter 1433: Useful trinkets (1)
When Lin Fan had found that box in the Highoak Family’s secret room, he had been very disappointed with what he found.
That was because this was nothing more than a box of trinkets that didn’t have any value at all.
But now it seemed like this thing was his last option.
After all, he had no clue as to what would happen if he stepped into the pavilion.
He could only hope that these trinkets would be able to do something to help him.
Ye Qing Huan looked at Lin Fan with a strange look when he took out these trinkets, but that was only to be expected since he was taking out trinkets in a situation like this. It wasn’t as if she could feel anything special from these trinkets that would show that they were special.
Which was why Ye Qing Huan had to wonder if Lin Fan was alright.
Lin Fan just ignored the way that Ye Qing Huan looked at him as he focused on the trinkets that he was taking out of the box.
He had no idea which trinket did what, so the only thing that he could do was take them out one by one. As he took them out, he held them up in front of him towards the pavilion to see if there was some kind of reaction that came from it.
But no matter which one he held up, it didn’t seem like there would be a reaction.
That was until the very last trinket that he pulled out.
“It’s spinning?” Lin Fan had a confused look on his face as he looked at this little top that had started spinning in his hand.
No matter how he looked at it, it really didn’t seem like there was anything special about this spinning. Though he knew that there must be something that the top was reacting to for it to start spinning all of a sudden like this.
So that was why Lin Fan just waited for some kind of reaction from the pavilion.
It really didn’t seem like anything was going to happen at first, but then there was something that appeared.
“Is that some kind of gas?”
This was some kind of gas that had a faint colour to it. Otherwise, Lin Fan really wouldn’t have been able to see the gas.
Seeing this, he could guess that there was most likely other gases that had been leaking out before this. It was just that those gases didn’t have any colour at all, so he couldn’t see them until now when that one gas with colour was mixed in.
From the way that the gas was moving, it was as if it had been caught up in some kind of current.
“Where is it being taken to?” Lin Fan muttered to himself as he followed the flow of the gas with his eyes.
But it wasn’t just this single coloured gas that appeared.
There were more and more gases that appeared out of the cracks of this pavilion.
Some of them had colours and some of them didn’t. The only way that Lin Fan was able to see the gases that didn’t have colour was because of the ones with colour.
The ones without colours occupied spaces between the ones with colour. They took up space that the gases with colour couldn’t take, which showed that they were there.
But that wasn’t what was important.
The most important thing was how these gases all seemed to be flowing.
“It’s as if it’s caught up in some kind of spiral? It’s going the same way as the top?” Lin Fan slowly figured this out before looking down at the top that was still spinning in his hand.
He had no idea what this top was, but it was hard to mistake it when it was causing this phenomenon in front of him.
After a while, it seemed like the top was slowly coming to a stop.
But this wasn’t exactly a good sign…
“It’s gathered all of these gases together and it doesn’t seem like these gases are anything good. If it suddenly stops binding them together after gathering them like this, the only thing that will happen is…”
Lin Fan couldn’t help taking a step back as this thought passed through his mind.
It seemed like Ye Qing Huan was thinking the same thing as she took out a weapon, but it didn’t seem like she knew what to do about this. After all, it wasn’t as if she would be able to guard against all this gas with just any methods she could use.
It really seemed like this was going to be a problem for them.
Or that would have been the case if not for the top taking care of it.
When Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan had been thinking about running away, the top suddenly came to a stop. When the top came to a stop, so did the swirling mass of gases gathered together.
It was just that the gases didn’t sink down like one would think.
Once the swirling stopped, the gas was actually sent straight up into the sky.
It felt like it would fall back down after being sent up, like it was being used for some kind of attack. Only that wasn’t the case as it was sent flying off into the distance.
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan couldn’t exactly see where this gas was being sent, but they could see that it was being sent far away from here. It wouldn’t bother them, but it might bother the people wherever it landed.
Still, it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could do about this since they weren’t the ones controlling the gas.
Once the gas disappeared, there was only silence that followed as neither of them knew what to do.
However, Lin Fan already knew in his heart what it meant for the gas to be scattered like this.
“The path should be clear…” Though he said this out loud, it didn’t seem like he was confident in these words.
Ye Qing Huan thought the same, but it wasn’t as if they could turn back now.
So Lin Fan went forward with Ye Qing Huan following close behind. Both of them were prepared to jump back if anything happened, but there wasn’t a single thing that came out at them.
They walked in a straight line, taking the shortest path through the pavilion. So it didn’t take long for them to come out on the other side.
Once they did, they could feel something come up behind them and this wasn’t something new. This was the same thing that appeared when they passed through the first pavilion.
“So this is the second gate.” Both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan thought the same thing when they saw this. Honestly, anyone that saw this would think the same thing since there was only one explanation for this.
After making it through the pavilion, Ye Qing Huan turned her attention to the top that Lin Fan was still holding. He had held it up in front of him the entire time, just in case something went wrong.
But the expression on her face showed that she wasn’t able to see through it.
Lin Fan had been hoping that she would be able to find something about this top, but then again…It was something that he had gotten from the Highoak Family, which meant that it had come from the Dao Sect.
Since it came from the Dao Sect, it would be something special.
There was a reason that the Dao Sect had been able to reign over the cultivation continent back then, so there was no doubt that this thing was special.
Once she found that she couldn’t actually see through this top, the only thing that Ye Qing Huan could do was ask Lin Fan, “What is this thing and where did you get it?”
She didn’t ask in a way that was pressuring Lin Fan to answer, but it was clear that she wanted to know just where he had gotten this thing.
Hearing this, there was an awkward smile that appeared on Lin Fan’s face.
Though he didn’t say anything, it made his answer very obvious.
Which was why Ye Qing Huan just narrowed her eyes to look at him for a moment before turning back to look forward while asking, “Where do we go now?”
Lin Fan didn’t linger on this either as he looked at the map once more and continued forward while following the path on it.
It didn’t take the two of them long to arrive at another pavilion.
At this time, Lin Fan had gotten used to this and could guess a few things from looking at the map. It seemed like they would have to pass several more pavilions before they reached the end of this place.
Whatever was at the end had to be special if there were all these gates that were stopping them.
But when he looked closely, Lin Fan couldn’t help stopping for a moment.
“What is it?” Ye Qing Huan asked when she saw Lin Fan stopping like this, but he didn’t say anything as he just pulled out the top once more.
After pulling out the top, he looked carefully at the map and the top.
As he did, he couldn’t help thinking to himself, “It’s the same.”
There was a mark on the map near where the second pavilion was that looked just like the top.
