With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1434: Useful trinkets (2)

Chapter 1434: Useful trinkets (2)
When he saw this drawn on the map, there really was no mistaking it.
For them to mark it this clearly, it meant that they had already expected to use the top at this second pavilion. It meant that they already knew that the top was the key to getting past the second pavilion.
When Lin Fan realized this, he looked forward to where the third pavilion should be and looked for any special markings that were there.
If they marked what was useful at the second pavilion, then it was only normal that they would mark what was useful at the third pavilion. And when he looked at it closely, he was able to find it.
Only Lin Fan couldn’t help being a bit caught off guard by this.
“What is this supposed to do?”
It wasn’t hard for him to find the thing that was drawn on the map since it was exactly the same as the item. It was one of the benefits of having small trinkets like this, they were quite easy to mark down.
But no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t figure out what the use of this trinket was.
In the end, Lin Fan decided not to think about it anymore.
Even if he had known it was the top that would get them through the second pavilion, he really couldn’t have imagined what the top would have done. At least, he wouldn’t have thought that it would have gotten rid of the poisonous gas for him.
Which was why it was better not to think too much about it and see what it would do.
Once they reached the third pavilion, Ye Qing Huan took a step back and just waited while watching Lin Fan. It was as if she was just waiting to see what kind of special thing he would take out this time.
Lin Fan knew that it was his turn as well, which was why he came forward with the second trinket in hand.
The only thing was that there was nothing that happened with the pavilion itself.
The only thing that happened was that the trinket itself moved a bit before returning to normal.
“Is that really it?” Lin Fan had to question this as he stared at the scale in his hand.
What happened just now was that one side of the scale had gone down before coming back up to balance itself once more. It was clear that the scale had done something, but Lin Fan had no idea what it was that the scale did.
With how nothing happened at all, it really made more sense that the scale didn’t do a single thing.
Ye Qing Huan also seemed to think that the scale had done something as she stepped forward to test it, but Lin Fan wouldn’t let her go first. Even if he had his doubts, he still wouldn’t let her go first.
Which was why he took the first step into the pavilion.
When he did, he found that there wasn’t a single thing that happened.
It was just a normal step that he took without anything triggering.
Seeing this, Ye Qing Huan went forward to do the same thing as Lin Fan.
Only the moment that she was about to step forward, she couldn’t stop her face from twisting as it looked like she was struggling with something. It wasn’t as if she couldn’t face this thing, but it was still strange that there was something that even Ye Qing Huan struggled with.
Ye Qing Huan’s strength was something that Lin Fan acknowledged and knew wasn’t weak, which was why it was surprising that she would struggle like this.
Which was why he immediately went back to help her.
The moment that he went to her side, that expression on her face disappeared.
What replaced it was a look of surprise that was directed at Lin Fan before she asked, “How did you do that?”
Lin Fan had a surprised and confused look hearing this, but he still shook his head and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about?”
“You don’t feel the pressure at all?”
“Pressure?”
With the way that they went back and forth, there was a clear disconnect between the two of them.
It seemed like Ye Qing Huan was feeling something that Lin Fan wasn’t feeling with her reaction.
Only Lin Fan really couldn’t feel anything even though he was standing in the same place as Ye Qing Huan was.
“It must by the scale.” Ye Qing Huan pointed out in the end.
Lin Fan looked down at the scale in his hand and realized that she was right about that.
He had thought that the scale hadn’t done anything, but now it seemed like it had done something quite important. It had negated whatever the trap was in this place and allowed him to move forward unimpeded.
It also seemed that as long as someone was close enough to him, the scale would also be able to negate the effect of the trap on them.
He wasn’t the only one that figured this out, Ye Qing Huan was the same.
Which was why after figuring this out, she moved right beside him and took his arm.
Seeing this, a wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face, but he didn’t stop her.
Though with the way that they stood, it was as if they were taking a pleasant stroll rather than risking their lives in a dangerous place.
Though there was something else that made that wry smile appear on Lin Fan’s face.
As they moved forward, he could feel the tugging that came from his arm.
Even without asking, he knew that this was Ye Qing Huan pulling on his arm to slow them down a bit. Even though this was a dangerous place, she was using this chance to spend a moment alone like this.
Still, he didn’t stop her since he knew that there wouldn’t be any danger.
When they arrived on the other side, the same thing happened where the way back was shut behind them.
At this point, it wasn’t even a surprise that this happened.
In fact, it would have been more of a surprise if it didn’t happen since they were already used to it.
Neither Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan cared about this anymore and looked at the path forward, but it didn’t seem like there was anything that changed about this place.
All they knew was that there would be more gates between them and whatever the Dao Sect ruins hid.
“How many more are left?” Ye Qing Huan asked after they came through.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything as he took out the map and only after looking at it did he say, “I can’t tell exactly. It seems like two more, but it also seems like there are smaller things we have to go through.”
Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything and just gave a simple nod in response.
The look on her face showed that she wasn’t worried at all about this, it showed that she had faith in Lin Fan’s ability to deal with all of this. After all, he had already shown what he was capable of with everything that he had done so far.
There was still a trace of doubt in her eyes as she wondered where he found all of these things, but she didn’t say anything about it.
But there was something else that Lin Fan wanted to do.
He didn’t say anything since there weren’t such marks before the third gate, but after the third gate…
Everything that the map had marked for him so far showed that the map was correct, so he was curious about the other marks that were there. There were other marks that were on the map, but they deviated from the path that they had been following.
If he had to guess, they were most likely side quests that he could have gone to find if he wanted.
It was just a matter of whether he had time or not to go look for them.
Since they were here, Lin Fan did want to go and have a look at these different marks.
Which was why he was hesitating on whether to mention it or not.
It was a good thing that Ye Qing Huan already had a good idea of what Lin Fan wanted from the expression on his face. She had been with him long enough that she could easily guess what he was thinking from the smallest expressions that he made.
“If you want to take a look, we can go.”
A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face hearing this, but he didn’t reject this as he gave a simple nod. There was also a grateful look that was in his eyes as he looked at Ye Qing Huan, but she didn’t respond to that.
After all, there was no need for that kind of thing between them.
Raising the map once more, Lin Fan looked carefully to see where the closest mark was.
He believed that since they took the time to mark it out on this map, then there had to be a reason for them marking it out. He believed that there would be something special in these places.
This was the reason that they had come to the Dao Sect ruins in the first place.
“Let’s see what we can find.” Lin Fan even said to himself with a bit of excitement.
