Chapter 1436: Just one more

After the Origin Flower was revealed, Ye Qing Huan suddenly released different things in different directions.

She threw them all around the pool that the Origin Flower was in the middle of.

Looking closely, Lin Fan could see that all of these things were talismans.

It seemed like Ye Qing Huan was preparing some kind of array around this pool.

This array seemed like it was not only to protect them from things outside the pool, but also from anything that might come from inside of the pool. It seemed like Ye Qing Huan was taking no risks at all when it came to collecting this Origin Flower.

But in the end, all of this was unnecessary.

There was nothing that came from outside or inside the pool, as she was able to easily make her way down to where the Origin Flower was. There was even a set of stairs that had brought her down to where it was.

It was clear that whoever had designed this place wanted to let the one that opened it up take the Origin Flower.

It seemed like Ye Qing Huan had been cautious for no reason.

Though it wasn’t as if Lin Fan faulted her since he knew what kind of place this was.

It was always better to be careful than to be careless.

After she made it down to where the Origin Flower was, Ye Qing Huan even took out a special looking vase. When Lin Fan tried to check out this vase, he found that it actually rejected him.

This vase was made from some kind of special material that completely isolated it from the rest of the world.

This kind of vase really was the perfect thing to store this Origin Flower in.

After all, it wasn’t as if Ye Qing Huan could absorb this Origin Flower right now.

It didn’t take her long to harvest it and put it into the vase.

Once she was done, the only thing left to decide was…

“Let’s go to one more place.”

Lin Fan was caught off guard by how forward Ye Qing Huan was when it came to making this decision. She had even come to this decision before he had a chance to ask her anything.

It wasn’t that he was displeased that she said this so quickly, he was actually glad that she made this decision. It was just that he was completely caught off guard since Ye Qing Huan had been silently following him the entire time.

This was the first time since they came to this Dao Sect ruins that she made her opinion this clear.

“Is there something special that you’re sensing?” Lin Fan had to ask this when he came back to his senses.

It was just that Ye Qing Huan shook her head before saying, “No, I have no idea at all. I just feel like we should go to one more.”

Lin Fan just looked at her for a few seconds before giving a nod.

He didn’t question her since she had never questioned him during this time.

So if her instincts were telling her something, then it was his turn to trust those instincts without a single word.

It was just that there were more than one spots that were marked on the map.

“Which one do you think is the one that we should go to?”

Since it was her instincts that were telling them to keep going, Lin Fan naturally left the matter of choosing the one that they went to to Ye Qing Huan. He really wanted to see where her instincts would take her.

Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything as she stared at the map.

She had already seen it many times, but this was the first time that she was looking at it closely like this.

It wasn’t that Lin Fan didn’t let her see the map, it was just that she didn’t come forward to see the map.

But at this point, none of that mattered.

It took a while, but Ye Qing Huan’s hand eventually came up and she pointed at one of the marks on the map.

Lin Fan looked at the mark carefully, but he couldn’t see anything special about this mark or the surrounding area that would make this special. So he couldn’t figure out why Ye Qing Huan chose this spot.

But then again, that didn’t matter.

“Alright, let’s go.”

The first thing that they did was return to the path to the next gate before heading off in the direction of the second mark. They wanted to make sure that they would be able to find their way back and in this place, this seemed like the best way.

Not to mention that it would give Lin Fan a chance to test if he could find his way back.

Once they were back at the path, they didn’t waste any time in heading to the next mark.

When they arrived, they found that this place was completely different from the other place. There wasn’t a pool that went into the ground, there was this hill that seemed to reach the clouds.

Only it seemed like this hill was also blocked by something which was why they couldn’t see the top.

It was most likely the same array that had kept them from seeing too far into the distance.

“What are we supposed to do here?” Ye Qing Huan asked Lin Fan, but he didn’t say anything as he looked at the map.

There was a mark that was here as well, but he didn’t really understand what this mark was supposed to be. It didn’t seem like it had any meaning at all with how it looked a bit blurred.

However, he eventually saw what it meant.

“It’s a mix of the top and the scale? Is that why it’s positioned between the third and fourth gate?”

When Lin Fan figured this out, he didn’t hesitate to pull out these two items.

It was just that after pulling it out, he didn’t know what exactly it was that he was supposed to do with them. Even if the map had marked out these two items, it wasn’t as if it made it clear what they would be used for.

So he just stood there wondering what he was supposed to do until they showed him.

In the end, Lin Fan didn’t have to do anything as these two items did it all on their own.

The top started spinning first, drawing in what seemed to be air around him. He only knew that this was the case because he could feel the flow of wind around him.

After that, it seemed like the scale tipped in a way that induced some kind of change. It was just that Lin Fan had no idea what this change was since he couldn’t feel anything different.

The only thing that he knew was that the scale did something.

It was the same as the third pavilion where it had stopped that pressure from reaching him.

So did that mean that there’s something similar here?

“There’s a path now.” Ye Qing Huan said all of a sudden that caught Lin Fan off guard.

He had been focused on the scale in front of him that he hadn’t been looking at the hill that was there. But now that Ye Qing Huan said this, he realized that she was right about this.

There was this path that had suddenly appeared on the hill in front of them that led upwards. This was something that clearly hadn’t been there before and had only appeared after Lin Fan took out these two items.

It was just that he didn’t know where this would lead him.

“It can’t be anywhere bad if it requires these items to reach it. They wouldn’t do something like this for no reason.”

Lin Fan had to agree with her when she used this logic, but it was still hard to take that first step.

In the end, he was able to take that first step and started moving up the hill without knowing what to expect.

While he was moving, he could tell that there was a change in the air flow around him.

It seemed to become a bit weaker, as if there was something that was draining the air around him away. However, it never became so weak that it completely disappeared.

Whatever was there seemed to be protecting him from something that he couldn’t see.

After walking for a while, he finally arrived at the peak of the hill.

The moment that he walked up to the peak, there was a wry smile that appeared on his face as he said to himself, “What am I supposed to do with this?”

Lin Fan didn’t really know what to do with the thing that was in front of him, but it wasn’t as if he could just leave it here.

So he went forward to pick it up and put it away.

This wasn’t something that had to be preserved in a special manner, so he was able to put it away quite easily.

After putting that thing away, he went back down to where Ye Qing Huan was.

When he came down, he could already see the way that she looked at him.

Even if she didn’t say anything, he could already guess what it was that she wanted to ask.

Which was why he took out the thing that he obtained.

“Is this it?”

Lin Fan just gave a nod with a wry smile.
