- Chapter 1652 - 571: Declaration Before the Battle

After a short while, Rein arrived high above the Hammerfall Mountains, gazing down.
Although Grand Astromancer Dalain had already tracked down Graham’s whereabouts, placing him within the Hammerfall Mountains, the issue was that the mountain range extended for thousands of miles. Finding a hidden Dawn Late Stage Wizard within it was no easy task.
Nonetheless, having a general area was better than none.
Furthermore, for most people, searching such a vast area would take at least a month, even for an experienced Dawn Wizard like Elder Ivan. But for Rein, who had reached the full moon peak, it wouldn’t take nearly as long.
Rein was confident that he could find the target in as little as half a day, or at most three to five days.
Even if the opponent was hiding in such a vast and expansive mountain range.
Rein was about to take action when he suddenly thought of something.
“Given Graham’s personality, if hidden in the mountain range, he must be waiting for an opportunity to strike!”
“That means he’s either going to seek out areas with large crowds to conduct a blood sacrifice summon or find places with many spiders to use the spirits of the spiders for the summon.”
“If that’s the case…”
Rein’s eyes lit up, and he vanished instantly.
…
About an hour later.
Rein returned to the same spot, looking thoughtful.
“I’ve checked all eleven County Towns on the edges of the Hammerfall Mountains without finding any trace of him.”
“As for other villages and towns, the population is too small, and there aren’t enough experts for a high-quality blood sacrifice.”
“It seems likely that he’s in areas where fierce species of spiders are gathered.”
In the next second, his figure disappeared into the sky once again.
Soon, Rein arrived at a rocky valley area, an environment favored by the black fog spiders around the Hammerfall Mountains.
“Unfortunately… there’s no sign of human interference.”
Rein’s gaze first focused on the nests where the black fog spiders were coming and going, and then he observed a black fog spider the size of his fist for a moment before shaking his head.
“Indeed, although there are many black fog spiders, their strength is too weak. They are almost the weakest of the fierce species.”
“If I were Graham, I probably wouldn’t choose black fog spiders either.”
…
A few minutes later, Rein was above a dense forest.
Beneath this forest was a large swamp inhabited by groups of swamp poison spiders.
“No signs of artificial alteration here either.”
Rein picked up a basin-sized, trembling swamp poison spider, sighed, and said.
Then, Rein visited more than ten other areas inhabited by different types of spiders but found no trace of Graham.
“Nothing in the giant web spider nest.”
“Nothing in the black widow spider nest.”
“Nothing in the wild thorn spider nest either!”
…
This made Rein furrow his brow, starting to doubt his own judgment.
“Could it be that Graham really found a place to bury himself and hide?”
“If that’s the case, there’s really nothing I can do about him.”
“No!”
“Based on his previous activities on the Shirendil Plateau, he’s not the type to hide away without any plans. I must have overlooked something!”
After thinking it over repeatedly, Rein felt his line of thinking was correct. The opponent must be scheming something; the hiding place just hadn’t been discovered yet.
“Could it be inside the Hammerfall Tunnel?” Rein pondered and muttered.
“Even though there are many caravans there, if multiple caravans went missing, the Empire’s garrison couldn’t possibly have no reports.”
“But still…”
After thinking it over, Rein decided to take a look first.
….
‘Whoosh,’ with a flash, Rein appeared inside Hammerfall Tunnel, where he’d passed before. A faint heat permeated the underground, and several caravans were orderly heading to the other side of the tunnel, without signs of panic.
This indicated that nothing significant had happened inside Hammerfall Tunnel recently.
“There’s magma below, spiders prefer the dark… no, wait!”
“There is a type of spider that likes heat, the rare and powerful fierce species, the molten spider.”
Rein suddenly thought of something!
In his mind appeared an image of a rare dark red spider, resembling a calf.
His figure flickered several times and reached a lava area beneath the Hammerfall Tunnel.
“Found it! It’s here!”
A smile finally appeared on Rein’s face.
In front of Rein was a molten spider nest, with hundreds of molten spiders carrying various beasts’ corpses into the nest.
Upon closer inspection, these molten spiders had several black lines on their bodies, differing from their original appearance.
Clearly, someone had tampered with the molten spiders.
In fact, through the hot steam rising from the lava, Rein saw the familiar figure from the Shirendil Plateau who had fled here, deep within the nest.
Graham was by a nearly completed large altar.
In the center of the altar was a large dark red rocky body, with a giant molten spider the size of a carriage perched above it, and around it were various fierce species captured by the molten spider swarm.
After a brief contemplation, Rein chose not to directly attack but instead observed and listened to Graham’s mutterings.
