OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess
Chapter 1483: No Matter How Busy He Is, He’ll Have to Return to the Xiuluo Guard at Least Once, Right?
The constable sized him up from head to toe and said, "Actually, after looking for a while, you’re pretty decent-looking. There are rougher-built girls in the city too—if you don’t look closely you can’t tell the difference."
With rouge and eyebrow makeup on, Xie Yu really did look the part.
His originally cold, sharp face now seemed a bit androgynous.
Mo Yanchi stared at him for a moment and said, "Can you soften your expression a little? What kind of woman walks around with a ’I’m about to kill someone’ look all the time?"
Xie Yu tried hard to imitate a refined lady’s lip-pressing.
Mo Yanchi burst out laughing, then said, "Now that’s more like it."
He completely changed his attitude: "Arrest officer, I think my third disciple is very suitable. Just let him be the bait to lure the enemy out."
As he spoke, he pulled Zhi’er behind him.
"My little disciple doesn’t need to go. You only need one girl, and now you’ve found her, haven’t you?"
The constable was stunned. "Ah? This..."
Zhi’er hurriedly said, "Master, I can handle this arduous mission too."
But Xie Yu cut her off. "No need. Since I can do it alone, just let me go by myself."
"Take it as me repaying a favor. I can’t always make you help me; I can help you for once too."
Zhi’er stared blankly.
Mo Yanchi, however, was overjoyed. "Good, then it’s settled."
They escorted Zhi’er back to the palace.
After Zhi’er returned, she went to the Xiuluo Guard first thing.
She had originally wanted to find Feng Fuce, but Lei Hu told her, "The Marquis hasn’t come back at all today. That group of people hid in the great mountains, so the Marquis led Chu Ping and several squads of Xiu Luo Envoys into the mountains to try and trap them."
"The Marquis left in a hurry and specially left a message for the Princess. He told this humble subordinate to pass it on: the Princess should not go out these days and wait for him to return."
Lei Hu sounded a little embarrassed when he said those last four words.
Zhi’er was taken aback for a moment. "All right..."
She turned to leave, but what she was thinking was: Brother Fu Ce actually didn’t take the initiative to explain things to her himself?
Zhi’er walked along the palace road and kicked at the ground.
Her delicate, pretty face showed a maiden’s little grievance. "So busy, yet he could at least send a Demon back to tell me what’s going on..."
Over at the government offices, early the next morning, they had Xie Yu, dressed as a woman, walk back and forth between the streets and the city outskirts.
They even found a brothel girl to pose as his maid, so it would look like an ignorant young lady from a noble family out shopping.
But that brothel girl knew she’d be watched by the kidnappers’ agents, and she was so scared her face was full of panic, looking extremely unnatural.
As for Xie Yu, his stride was downright wild—one glance and you could tell he wasn’t a girl—and he kept a permanent scowl on his face.
Predictably, Xie Yu walked around the whole day without getting successfully kidnapped.
The next day, still unwilling to give up, the government had him go wander around the outskirts again.
But there was even less movement.
It made sense: the government had just made a huge show of warning the common folk, and this was exactly the time for those criminals to shrink back and hide—how could they rashly come out to commit crimes against the wind?
When this reached Zhi’er’s ears, she went to find the arrest officer alone and requested to go with Xie Yu as bait, to see if they could draw the thieves out.
"But Your Highness the Princess..."
"No ’but.’ I’ve already decided. You don’t need to report this to anyone." Zhi’er was in a foul mood when she said this.
She hadn’t seen Feng Fuce for three days.
No matter how busy he was, he should have come back to the Xiuluo Guard at least once, right?
Yet he hadn’t.
Zhi’er was fuming, and with nowhere to vent her frustration, she simply decided to use this gang of thieves as practice!
The arrest officer didn’t dare make the decision alone, and he definitely didn’t dare tell the Emperor.
So he rushed overnight into the deep mountains to find Feng Fuce, who was stationed inside planning to wipe out that gang of thieves in one go, and reported the matter.
