OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess
Chapter 1484: Did You Quarrel with the Demon Lord?
"Nonsense." Feng Fuce’s gaze turned cold, and he suddenly stood up.
The Xiu Luo Envoys followed him for a couple of steps.
Feng Fuce turned back and instructed Chu Ping, "Do as I said. Stay here and keep watch. If there’s anything unusual, send a signal to Guoguo."
Chu Ping replied hastily, "Don’t worry, Marquis. I’m keeping a close eye here and will definitely capture that group in one fell swoop. You should hurry back and keep Princess company. It’s obvious you’ve been missing her after just two or three days without seeing her."
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt Feng Fuce’s icy gaze pierce him like a knife.
Chu Ping shrank back his neck, "I was wrong, I spoke too much."
He gave his own mouth a hard slap and ran off dejectedly, fearing that Feng Fuce’s fist would land on him if he lingered a second longer.
Withdrawing his gaze, Feng Fuce mounted his horse and galloped back to the palace.
After taking a bath, Bai Zhi’er lay in bed, listening to Jing Jia speak.
She had just told her mother how she helped Xie Yu through a difficult situation.
Jing Jia smiled, "No wonder he traveled thousands of miles after seeing your portrait. But it’s clear to me that our Zhi’er’s heart isn’t with him."
Bai Zhi’er’s black hair lay draped over her shoulders.
She mumbled, "I don’t like his type anyway, he’s more like a little brother."
At this point, Bai Zhi’er lay on her mother’s lap.
She cuddled Jing Jia, acting cute, "When will mom and dad actually have a little brother for me to play with?"
Jing Jia pinch her cheek affectionately, "You, a brother is born just for playing?"
Bai Zhi’er blinked her round eyes, "What else? Well, of course I’d be good to him, take him around to play."
Jing Jia chuckled softly.
She stroked Bai Zhi’er’s black hair, "I thought, I don’t want you to be too exhausted, have another to share the burden. But after thinking it over, we decided against it, your father and I only want to give our love to you."
Upon hearing this, Bai Zhi’er’s eyes sparkled with emotion.
She hugged Jing Jia tightly, "Mom, I want to sleep now. I’ve arranged to fly a kite with Xie Yu tomorrow morning, to lure those thieves out."
Mentioning this, Jing Jia straightened her expression.
"I predicted beforehand, it’s just a bunch of lustful ghosts causing trouble. You and Xie Yu don’t need to exhaust yourselves, capturing them in person. Shall I take care of it for you?"
Bai Zhi’er shook her head decisively, "No need, I want to use them for practice, mom doesn’t need to worry about it, leave it all to me."
"Practice?" Jing Jia felt puzzled and laughed, "Your spells are powerful, progressing quickly. ’Practice’ is a term you haven’t needed since you were three."
After hearing this, Bai Zhi’er sat up, hugging her knees, saying nothing.
Looking at her daughter’s dark eyes, Jing Jia boldly guessed, "Did you fight with the Demon Lord? I always said he’s a cunning old fox, always making you angry."
"No!" Bai Zhi’er immediately defended Feng Fuce, "Brother Fu Ce is very good, not cunning at all. He’s always honest with me, never has he lied to me one bit."
Jing Jia laughed, "I only spoke one word against him and here you are defending him so fiercely. If your foolish dad knew, who knows how jealous he’d be."
"Then tell me, if he didn’t upset you, why are you unhappy, venting on a bunch of third-rate ghosts?"
Bai Zhi’er hesitated for a moment, but still spoke.
"He’s been busy investigating a case, hasn’t returned to the palace for three days. Those few small ghosts are no match for him. Brother Fu Ce might be angry at me, that’s why he’s not willing to come back and say a word to me."
