One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1422 - 1419: The Death of Brass
Amoon slowly approached this group of Mantai people. He exuded a powerful aura, which made many of the Mantai feel a bit intimidated.
After all, Amoon was also an Alchemist, and in the eyes of the Mantai people, Alchemists were truly terrifying beings, so their fear was quite normal.
However, not every Mantai person feared this Amoon. The Mantai leader, the leader of the Tramplers, glared fiercely at Amoon.
Amoon knew asking others was futile. He went straight to the point, directly facing the sinister-looking Mantai Leader.
"Your name is Emile Klars, once a subordinate of Wind Chaser Akhan, but because you violated Akhan's rules, you were expelled. After that, you sought refuge with the tribal leader of Wind Chaser Mordos, the Bloodthirsty Slayer. In short, you've always been a wanderer!"
Amoon recited these details fluently; it was clear he was well-acquainted with this Mantai Leader.
But the Mantai named Emile Klars spat, clearly indifferent to Amoon recounting his past.
"Indeed, you despise the Bloodthirsty Slayer because you had an affair with Mordos's wife, Qin. Following that, Bloodthirsty Slayer marked you for death, yet you managed to escape because you sought refuge with Bihas from the Greedy Moon Tribe."
Emile Klars no longer appeared disdainful; instead, he looked at Amoon with a puzzled expression.
Not only Emile Klars, but Igor and the others regarded Amoon with the same look, as this Amoon knew far too much, seemingly unraveling a person's entire history, much of it being of a private nature.
"Of course, serving three Wind Chasers is your skill, but offending all three is a pitiful plight. I believe Bihas from the Greedy Moon Tribe still remembers you stealing his mount."
"That wasn't theft! That was mine by right!"
Emile finally got angry, evidently provoked by Amoon's recounting of past events.
"Say what you want. You can't stay in the Ghost Realm, and you lack the means to establish yourself as king. All you can do is comfort yourself with mercenaries like the Tramplers. Look around you; they're a ragtag group, with few worthy of being called Mantai warriors."
"Mantai warriors are nothing! I will return to the Ghost Realm and crush their tribes!" Emile was clearly plotting a plan; Amoon's provocations ensnared him in a trap, gradually leading him astray.
"Ha ha ha, with just you, trying to conquer the Ghost Realm!" Amoon sneered mockingly.
"What do you know!" Emile disregarded Amoon's derision.
"I know that with those Tramplers under your command, using clowns disguised as Mantai knights, you'll struggle to establish a presence in the Ghost Realm."
"Hmph, you're naive. Mantai people's tactics are outdated!" Emile shouted, indicating a deep-seated hatred for the Mantai.
Igor grew more confused. He had felt the full force of the Mantai knights' assault earlier; how could they be counterfeit, as Amoon claimed?
"You truly talk nonsense!" Amoon continued sneering. "To put it plainly, the knights of those three tribes you once swore fealty to are ferocious and terrifying. These warriors can't compare to your counterfeits!"
"We are Mantai people; there's no counterfeit!" Emile loudly rebutted.
"A group of fringe Mantai people. I bet some of them don't even speak Mantai."
The mockery stoked Emile's anger to the extreme. He loathed Amoon deeply but couldn't break free from the alchemic bonds Amoon wielded.
"Just wait; we'll shock you!"
"Shock us, you mean, with the potions you've acquired!" Amoon continued.
"You, how do you know about the potion!" Emile was visibly shaken.
"Why wouldn't I know about the potion? Is increasing one's strength with a potion news in Mist Town? It's no news, my friend!"
Igor grew even more perplexed. What potion? How does Amoon know everything?
Douglas shrugged, signaling Igor to listen carefully. He heard many novel insights from Amoon's lips.
"Ha ha ha, indeed, the potion is outdated. We don't need that anymore. We're waiting for Brass, who will grant us unprecedented power, to become Adventurers with Class. Owning such physique as Adventurers, you're doomed!"
"Pity, you're already in our grasp!" Douglas couldn't resist mocking Emile's arrogance.
"Ha, ha, ha, you know nothing! We will transcend life and death, making you insignificant as ants."
That stirred Igor. He seemed to have heard such words somewhere before.
"Oh, so what Brass promised you was that kind of power! Flimsy!" Amoon continued his sarcasm.
"Ha ha ha, you're ignorant and inexperienced—we've seen it firsthand. Swallowing that transparent, glowing nut resurrects us!" Emile revealed further.
"You rely on that to conquer the Ghost Realm!" Amoon inquired.
"You wouldn't understand. Initially, we intended to hunt Douglas because Brass wants something from him, something related to that transparent glowing nut!"
Igor finally understood. They're referring to the Spirit Core they have been talking about!
"All of you will be taken down. With Brass's arrival, your death dates are set, ha ha ha!"
"Why is it that after so many explanations, you don't understand! Your Brass can never come!" Douglas sighed, exhausted from repeating himself.
"No, he will come, he surely will!"
"He cannot come!"
The two men wrangled over whether Brass would arrive, neither convincing the other.
"Oh, you still don't get it, Brass is already dead!"
These words stunned everyone into silence.
"That fellow died before my eyes, and I showed you his belongings, yet you don't believe." Douglas spread his hands, showing helplessness.
