Chapter 1425 - 1422: How Should These People Be Dealt With

Igor's thoughts were pulled back to the past, the times when he had numerous conversations with Sol, gaining a detailed understanding of Sol's situations, and gradually becoming aware of all of Sol's research on Soul Devourer.

Now is not the time to dwell on memories or to worry about Sol; Sol might be fighting some enemies at this moment, Igor thought, and with that, he put away his thoughts.

"These Soul Devourers are an application of Spirit Cores; they bind thoughts and Spirit Core energy together, then invade bodies, using energy to bombard them..." Igor explained in detail, not caring whether others could understand.

Clearly, such complex things are difficult to comprehend. Even someone as logically clear-minded as Amoon needs some time to process it.

Igor paused, realizing he had been speaking for a while and noticed that Amoon's brow was furrowing deeper.

"Am I speaking too fast?" Igor asked.

Douglas nodded vigorously; he felt this was not just a matter of speaking rapidly. More critically, he couldn't comprehend the concepts Igor was discussing.

Igor scratched his head and looked at Amoon, paying more attention to Amoon's reaction. After all, Douglas was akin to half a Kadi to Igor.

"Previously, these people talked about the function of Spirit Cores, claiming that swallowing a Spirit Core could grant power."

"Yes, he wasn't wrong, but this must be considered in context. The original Devourers have formidable willpower, so if you want to devour them, that's impossible." Igor mentioned Kuyi Tulan at this point, as he was a representative of being strong-willed.

"You mean this necklace-like medium is used to connect the clash of willpower between two strong individuals?" Amoon asked.

"No, what you said is the exact opposite." Igor shook his head, feeling the necessity to clarify such matters.

"Opposite? Could it possibly be connecting the weak?" Amoon was perplexed, wondering why the weak would need a medium.

"This medium is indeed prepared for those lacking power. The strong don't need it; they will inevitably emerge victorious, either devouring or repelling each other. But this is not the case for those lacking power." Igor explained slowly; this situation is not common, as earlier Soul Devourers were strong, this medium mostly functioned with certain failed mixtures.

Amoon carefully pondered Igor's words; it was evident that duels between the strong would result in victory or defeat, a natural law of either life or death. But there might be differences between the two weak ones, neither would accept the other and neither could defeat the other.

This scenario would be quite awkward, and such confrontations could lead to difficulties in understanding how to achieve balance, thus making it a particularly troublesome matter.

The medium material emerges in such circumstances.

No one could understand why Soul Devourer could have things it couldn't devour, but gradually they found that not all Soul Devourers could smoothly occupy a person's body.

Many require mediation through a medium.

This Brass must be one of such cases.

Igor's explanation was brief but remained somewhat obscure and difficult to grasp.

Douglas had long since been bewildered and was no longer concerned, feeling that he had already ended up involved in this mess and accepting it as it came. He didn't care much about what process might occur.

"With everything you said, I can mostly grasp it, but I still have some doubts." Amoon addressed Igor.

"Go ahead, Senior, I will definitely share everything I know with you." Igor humbly replied.

"How could you so swiftly conclude that this necklace is a medium; was there some kind of inference involved?" Amoon inquired.

"This primarily stems from what Senior Douglas mentioned earlier." Igor responded accordingly.

"Hm?" Douglas was baffled once again by Igor's reference to him, pondering what Igor meant by continuously roping him into the conversation.

"Because once this thing was removed, Brass died, which clearly indicates it was a medium." Igor continued, believing this was straightforward.

"Why are you so sure? Haven't you considered the possibility of an assassination?" What Amoon pondered was evidently more extensive than what Igor had considered.

"Absolutely ruled out." Igor firmly stated, surprising Amoon and Douglas.

"Why are you so sure?" Amoon questioned.

"Again, due to Senior Douglas."

"Hm?" Douglas felt puzzled once again, wondering why Igor kept involving him in his statements.

"If there were an assassination, wouldn't Senior Douglas have noticed anything at all? That's utterly impossible. Assassination must be performed by a Hunter; even though Hunter's invisibility skill is formidable, Senior Douglas was present at the scene."

Amoon discerned a bit of content, realizing Igor still trusted Douglas considerably.

"Senior Douglas himself is a Hunter; there's no way he wouldn't notice an assassin. Moreover, if there was an assassin, they would certainly have discovered Senior Douglas!" Igor's reasoning seemed quite adequate, yet it didn't entirely convince Amoon.

Amoon glanced at Douglas, who appeared bewildered, completely unclear about what Amoon's peculiar expression meant.

"Alright," Douglas resigned himself to the intolerable duo, "whether Brass was really assassinated, let's go examine the corpse and naturally make some true conclusions!"

This proposal was undeniably favorable; Amoon agreed, thinking that examining the corpse was more practical than making guesses in the air!

"Then I'll lead the way, you just need to follow me!" Douglas said.

"No need, just tell us the location, and we'll go there ourselves." Amoon replied, remaining cautious of Douglas.

"Well, in that case, what should we do with these people!" Igor raised the most troublesome question.

"This..." Amoon genuinely had no solution; he initially considered killing them all at once but upon realizing the cruelty of that act, he seemed no different from the Mantai People and decided to drop it.

"These people!" Douglas, however, didn't seem as conflicted as Igor and Amoon, "These are easy to handle, just send them to the forest of the wolf pack!"

Douglas' suggestion was quite the eye-opener for Igor and Amoon, truly a promising proposal.

The wolf pack's forest is a perilous place, allowing these criminals to face some retribution isn't a bad idea!
