One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1430 - 1427: Gaoju Tribe Members
Because Igor had been lost in his own thoughts earlier, he hadn't made the connection between these things and the stealth attackers.
He looked at Douglas, puzzled: "Senior, have you taken care of those people?"
Douglas was equally puzzled: "Um, why do you say that? I just took the things from their hands, I didn't intend to hurt anyone!"
"Hehehe, leave the hurting to me!" Amoon gave a light smile, finding the conversation between Igor and Douglas quite amusing.
In a moment, hunting dogs appeared out of thin air on the ground, like a group of trained soldiers, charging straight ahead to attack.
But in Igor's eyes, the area ahead appeared blank.
This was truly...
Igor's mind found it almost inconceivable that Amoon could confirm the location so quickly. Igor vaguely remembered that when he battled invisible people in Bistal, he relied on Coban Kangen's soundwave attack to determine position. Yet now, this Amoon senior very mysteriously pinpointed the stealth attackers' location!
What kind of magic is this! Igor's confusion grew, feeling he had witnessed something entirely different.
He had encountered similar situations before, but now he felt he shouldn't wait for others to give him answers; he must actively seek answers himself. Of course, there is a shortcut to actively seeking answers, like Igor could simply open his mouth and ask what's going on, and someone would surely answer him.
But Igor felt that doing so was really unassertive. If he kept becoming a 'why' kid, then he truly would have no value.
He needed to make his own judgments first, then ask step by step, rather than asking mindlessly. Although the final nature is the same, Igor still feels this approach is more fitting.
So he started to ask: "Senior, did you use a group attack technique to determine the positions of these stealth attackers?"
Igor's question was somewhat thoughtful, as he knew the situation was already settled, and there was no need to talk about danger anymore. He only needed to know how Amoon defeated these people.
"Oh no, Igor." Amoon smiled lightly, caring about Igor's question, feeling this Igor was like a child but with a brave heart. He was not afraid of danger, his heart extremely pure, making it impossible to see him as an annoying brat.
"I didn't use a group attack technique. I'm not very good at confirming positions; this was Douglas's doing. I merely did what I do, which is tracking and hunting!"
Igor turned his head toward Douglas.
Douglas shrugged: "I'm a Hunter, concealment spells are commonplace for me, plus I'm a thief; I can find things others hide, including themselves. It's one of my specialties; everyone has their own traits, and you do too!"
Though Igor was unwilling to accept such an answer, sometimes things are just like that, and what you pursue often seems worthless in others' eyes.
But compared to Douglas, Amoon was even more understanding, answering Igor's question in detail.
"Hunters are always sensitive to scents, their scent tracking allows them to quickly locate the opponent, and they can also lock onto the opponent's position."
"I don't have the superior skills of a Hunter to directly discover the opponent's location, but I can mimic a Hunter's skill. We can create Exchange Beasts; although Exchange Beasts cannot completely replace wild animals, if we had many military hunting dogs, perhaps things wouldn't be so troublesome. As the opponent approaches, the dogs keep barking..."
"I mimic this characteristic, using Parasite Beasts to lock onto these targets, then use the Exchange Beasts to track these Parasite Beasts. These Parasite Beasts have a special spirit power, and the Exchange Beasts track this spirit power."
Amoon talked endlessly, with a level of detail that Igor could understand.
Yet even if Igor understood, it was of no use, as these spells of the Alchemist couldn't be imitated. Alchemy differs from other magic, and things like Exchange Beasts are a mystery.
"Are those Parasite Beasts also Exchange Beasts?" Igor asked.
"Yes!" Amoon replied with a smile.
Soon, these exchange beast hunting dogs made an impact. After their rushed pursuit, they quickly encircled a specific area, and before long, the stealth attackers began to gradually appear before them.
"Their clothes are so peculiar!" Igor was surprised when he saw them and couldn't help but exclaim.
"These are Mesmerizing Clothes, which allows them to hide their forms well." Douglas said, as he specialized in this area and was quite an authority.
"Nevertheless, they are a group of shortcut-taking Hunters. In a way, they cannot be considered Hunters, for they haven't undergone the series of Hunter training; they are hunters, they are shortcut-takers!"
Douglas continued, his tone with a hint of disdain, as if he held contempt for these people.
Igor looked at these people but found nothing special, just that they all had a tattoo on their foreheads that seemed like a mark or emblem. These tattoos were uniform, resembling a badge.
"Dual Fish?" Igor recognized the badge, and memories surfaced in his mind.
"Are these people from the Gaoju Family?" Igor tentatively asked.
His statement made Douglas and Amoon curiously look at him.
"Why say that!" Douglas was still unclear, although he had heard of the Gaoju Family, he hadn't interacted with them.
"Isn't this family's range of activities within the Wensi Empire? How could they appear here!" Amoon was equally surprised.
"The tattoo on their foreheads seems to prove they're from the Gaoju Family!" Igor said, though he was merely speculating and not quite sure, yet his intuition felt undoubtable.
"Whether they are or not, just ask and it's known!" Amoon was calm, for now everything was under their control.
Those with Dual Fish tattoos on their heads were being driven by the exchange beasts, awkwardly approaching step by step.
Igor felt there seemed to be something missing from these people, but couldn't specify what exactly...
