One-Eyed Monster

Chapter 1439 - 1436: Exception

Igor's sigh made both Douglas and Amoon fall into silence.

Indeed, humans know nothing about Water Spirits!

"No, that's not right!"

Igor suddenly jumped up, and his reaction left the Spirit Book a bit baffled, thinking, what's up with this guy again, what kind of fuss is he going to make now!

Everyone focused their attention on Igor, clearly waiting to see what kind of response the young man would give. They also couldn't understand why, after his sigh, Igor would show such surprise.

Igor clearly noticed everyone's gaze, quickly composed himself, and then calmly looked at the Spirit Book: "You just said a lot to prove that we know nothing about Water Spirits, but since we know nothing, what's the point of bringing up this discussion? To have an empty discussion about something unknown, what's the point? It's pointless!"

This statement is evidently reasonable. Clearly still at an unknown stage, yet speaking so grandly, isn't that just boring!

"Your question..." The Spirit Book was a bit thrown off by Igor.

"Isn't it so, I'm not wrong. We humans know nothing about Water Spirits, and the Spirit Book knows nothing too. So what's the point of the discussion?"

"What you said is logically correct, but that doesn't mean I truly know nothing about Water Spirits!" The Spirit Book retorted stubbornly, evidently feeling a bit resentful at Igor's words.

"Why, are you saying that Soron the senior you wrote about isn't human? Lord Soron, please forgive me, I'm not insulting you, I'm reasoning with this Spirit Book!" Igor bickered with the Spirit Book.

"This, well, everything has exceptions. Others don't understand Water Spirits because their level isn't high enough, but Lord Soron is an exception!" The Spirit Book nearly roared.

"Hmm?" Igor was greatly intrigued by the Spirit Book's answer. An exception? Could it be that Lord Soron knows much more about Water Spirits than any of them!

"Naturally, who is Lord Soron, how could you possibly compare!" The Spirit Book spoke about Lord Soron with a natural pride, something innate that always made him feel very proud of Soron's achievements.

"Then the question arises again. Since Lord Soron knows about Water Spirits, why didn't he write it down? Why can't I see even a little bit from you!" Igor asked again, still very concerned about this question, since this Spirit Book now belonged to him.

"Well, there are some things that need to be concealed!" The Spirit Book countered.

The current situation is that the Spirit Book, as Igor's Spirit Connection, didn't open up, hiding a portion of the content, which left Igor very conflicted.

"Can't we be more honest with each other!"

"I am very honest! Isn't this a process of gradually revealing this exception to you!" The Spirit Book felt perplexed by Igor's attitude, thinking everything it did was by the book, with nothing improper!

But Igor couldn't understand, feeling it was a form of concealment, essentially deception.

"Ahem, Igor!" Amoon spoke at this point, feeling that Igor clearly misunderstood something.

"Senior Amoon." Igor looked toward Amoon, hoping he would resolve the confusion before him.

And that was exactly Amoon's intention.

"Igor, I think regarding the Spirit Book, you might have a slight misunderstanding!"

"Hmm?" Igor felt puzzled, as this was the first time anyone mentioned this to him.

"The Spirit Book is like a fine wine, the longer it ages, the more valuable it becomes, and this value cannot be measured by current standards."

Since Igor does not drink, he couldn't quite grasp this concept.

"Okay, maybe that's a poor analogy. Some things don't present themselves at the beginning; they require time to mature, to settle, and only then can they reveal deeper meanings!"

This explanation was even more profound, leaving Igor scratching his head incessantly, apparently not understanding.

"You're making it too complicated, there's no need for such complication!" Douglas couldn't hold back anymore, feeling that Amoon had turned a simple matter unnecessarily complex, wanting to explain it to Igor.

"Senior Douglas, do you have any better advice?"

"Well, you're an Adventurer with Class, you know about leveling up, right, from low rank to high rank, you should understand that."

The example Douglas gave seemed to have a huge gap from the spirit book matter, seemingly having no connection!

However, Igor could understand.

"I get that, go on, Senior Douglas."

"Take us Hunters for example, the understanding of Stealth Ability at early ranks and high ranks are entirely different concepts, but the spell, it has always been those few words!"

"Uh... you mean as the level rises, hidden things within the spell will be discovered."

"Not discovered, but understood. The spell remains that spell, but our understanding changes."

"Oh!" It seemed Igor began to understand a bit.

"For example, if this Spirit Book were given to you ten years ago, could you understand its content? You might, but it would be a child's understanding!" Douglas continued, it was truly surprising how he linked these irrelevant matters together.

"Mm, I understand now, so I wronged this guy!" Igor realized.

The Spirit Book didn't mind much, it just got all mixed up by Igor's interruption, everything else it was supposed to do or not do all got tangled in its head.

"Well now, continue!" Igor calmed down, returning control to the Spirit Book.

"Uh..." The Spirit Book was still in chaos, not knowing what to say.

"What's wrong, another exception?" Igor persistently asked.

"I just suddenly can't remember which aspect to speak about, and with your interruption, I'm a bit confused!" The Spirit Book confessed honestly.

"We were discussing Water Spirits just now. You said Lord Soron understood Water Spirits very deeply, so now tell us how deep Lord Soron's understanding is." Igor prompted the Spirit Book. Since he interrupted, he obviously had a responsibility to link the matter back together.

"Lord Soron's understanding of Water Spirits, it's both a coincidence and an inevitability. There are many factors involved, and one of them is Han Lake!"
