Chapter 151: 151/The Wrong Door

Chapter 151

**Stephanie’s Point of View**

Every single muscle in my body locked up painfully. The freezing marble wall behind me pressed mercilessly against my bare back, while the cage of his hot, burning breaths encircled my face so suffocatingly it cut off the air supply to my lungs. My eyes clashed with his tyrannical, predatory gaze those dark eyes gleaming with blatant defiance and a terrifying mockery that turned the blood in my veins to ice.

I clenched my fists with stormy force until my sharp nails dug deep into the skin of my palms. Trying with every ounce of pride I possessed to find my lost voice amidst this overwhelming panic, I spoke in a tone that visibly trembled despite my desperate attempt to show the opposite: "Stop this damn madness this instant! Who the hell do you think you are to talk to me like this?! And who exactly do you think you are for me to try and entice you with such cheap tricks?!"

He tilted his head with an agonizing, provocative coldness, his eyelids narrowing in a calculated manner as he observed my raging outburst with complete detachment, as if watching a farcical play. Then, he spoke in a low voice: "Miss Miller... are you going to continue denying it in this naive manner despite all the damning evidence stacked against you and your little games?"

At that moment, a roaring fury consumed me, and a fire ignited inside my chest under this immense, humiliating assault on my dignity. Not only was he accusing me of something disgusting and slandering my honor, but Alexander was right outside, waiting for me at the table! Of all the luxury restaurants in this city, how did my wretched luck and curse lead me to run into this bastard in the exact same place, and in this humiliating situation of all things?!

I had had enough; I was thoroughly sick of all this madness and the accusations chasing me. Extending my hands with every ounce of physical and nervous strength I possessed, I shoved his massive frame violently away from me, yelling in a voice thundering with sheer rage and oppression: "What evidence, you sick, twisted bastard?! Tell me, for God’s sake, what evidence are you talking about!"

His hawk-like eyes widened in sudden shock for a few fleeting seconds. He had clearly never expected in his entire life that an employee of his would dare describe him with such an insulting word, breaching his untouchable status and authority so blatantly to his face. But he quickly recovered his terrifying, lethal composure. The muscles of his stern jaw tightened violently, and he spoke in a calm tone that nevertheless dripped with deadly venom: "So now I’m a bastard in your eyes... simply because you failed to catch my attention and seduce me, Miss Miller?"

I spoke with stifled malice, sparks flying from my eyes: "And what should we say about you then, for heaven’s sake? What the hell is a man of your stature doing in the women’s restroom? Are you a filthy pervert lurking after women in secret?"

He tilted his head again with that nerve-wracking, provocative detachment, uttering words that crashed upon my ears like a bolt of lightning shaking the earth beneath my feet: "This is the men’s restroom."

I froze in my tracks like a wooden statue, feeling the ground tilt and spin violently beneath me. I was so utterly shocked that from the depths of my heart, I wished I could lose consciousness or that the ground would split open and swallow me at that exact second. Damn my life... what kind of wretched luck and curse is constantly chasing me?! Had I mistaken the direction and walked into the wrong door because of my intense anxiety, my thoughts of Alex, and the Volkov mansion? I took a step back in blatant embarrassment that flushed my face crimson, stammering: "I... I didn’t know."

He shot back with biting sarcasm and a mocking tone: "Of course you knew. Stop making up these ridiculous, childish excuses, Miss Miller. The game is exposed."

I cried out in oppression and distress, my eyes glistening with tears: "Get out of my way right now! Let me get out of here... I am sick of this entire madness!"

He didn’t give me a single second to move or escape. His powerful hand with its massive fingers extended to grip my arm with a violence that shot pain through me. Turning his tall frame aggressively, he twisted the metal lock on the restroom door with a single, decisive click that terrified my very soul. Then, he shoved me back hard, pinning my back against the marble wall, trapping me completely.

I gasped in genuine terror, my voice shaking: "What the hell are you doing?! Have you lost your mind?!"

He spoke in a low voice, sharp as a blade, meant only for my ears: "There is no need to act and play the role of the pure virgin anymore. Just admit boldly that you want me."

My frayed nerves snapped, and I yelled: "Are you truly insane?! Let me out!"

In a swift, lightning-fast movement that I couldn’t even block, he caught both of my wrists with one of his palms and pinned them with brutal force above my head against the wall, leaving me utterly helpless to move or defend myself in his grip. Searing tears pooled in my eyes, and I threatened him in a desperate, weak plea: "Let go of me right now... or I will scream at the top of my lungs and bring everyone in the restaurant down on you!"

He observed my face with complete stagnation, his eyes as cold as ice, and asked: "Aren’t you tired of playing the poor victim yet?"

My throat choked on a suppressed sob, a bitter lump strangling me: "What acting?! Let me go! What is wrong with you? What the hell happened to you to behave this filthily with an employee of yours?!"

He narrowed his predatory eyes with deep-seated suspicion: "Are you genuinely trying to convince me that everything that has happened with you since your feet first stepped into my company’s office is just a passing coincidence with no planning behind it?"

I could no longer tolerate this under any circumstances. I felt his burning breath restricting my own, and a violent nausea of fear and anxiety attacked my stomach. My nerves began to completely collapse under the suffocating weight of knowing that Alexander was just a few meters away from us in the dining hall outside. I spoke in a final tone that cut off all threads of hope and pleading: "I am giving you one last chance right now to let me leave here in peace and without a scandal."
