Chapter 236/Facing the Devil Alone
Chapter 236: 236/Facing the Devil Alone
Chapter 236
Stephanie’s point of view
My body shuddered beneath the crushing weight of their words.
They both believed the only real danger was me pulling away from them, or the jealousy brewing between two brothers. They had no idea that a catastrophic storm was waiting for me at dawn that I might have to sell my body to Vincetti just to protect my existence with these two men who wrapped their bodies around me like an impenetrable fortress.
I buried my face deeper into Alexander’s broad chest, my fingers clutching Cedric’s arms tightly, squeezing my eyes shut as I silently begged for the night never to end, and for the dawn never to break.
The heavy hours of the night slipped away like fluid sand, draining through my fingers with terrifying speed.
As the dark faded into the pale grey threads of morning creeping through the heavy velvet drapes, the scorching heat surrounding me dissolved into a freezing, terrifying reality.
I woke to the steady, rhythmic breathing of the brothers. Alexander’s heavy arm was still wrapped tightly around my torso, while Cedric’s hand rested over my hip in quiet, subconscious possession even in deep sleep.
I carefully extracted myself from their hold, inch by painful inch, leaning onto my elbow with extreme caution so as not to wake either of them. Every single muscle in my body ached, and my core felt heavy with their combined seed deep inside me yet that physical soreness was nothing compared to the living hell tormenting my mind.
Today, I had to go to work with Vincetti. The next few hours would decide whether I managed to shield this hideous secret, or watched my entire life crumble into ash.
With trembling hands, I pulled on my clothes, casting one last, heart-wrenching look at Alexander and Cedric as they slept. I stepped out of the room with silent, hurried footsteps, making my way back to my own bedroom.
The moment I pushed the door shut, I snatched up my phone from the nightstand. The screen lit up, throwing a harsh, cold glow over my pale face.
There was a single text message waiting for me. Short, direct, and sent from Vincetti’s number:
> *"Good morning, beautiful. I’m waiting for you at the house to drive me to work, as usual."*
>
My knees buckled completely. I collapsed onto the edge of the mattress, bringing both hands up to cover my mouth, choking back a silent, violent sob of pure despair.
My options had officially run out. The seconds were ticking away like falling sand.
Now, I had to face the devil entirely alone without Alexander, without Cedric, and without a friend left to hold my hand.
My feet felt as heavy as lead, threatening to give out beneath the crushing weight of my exhausted body. I forced myself to walk toward the bathroom, pulling the door shut behind me. For a few agonizing moments, I sat on the edge of the marble counter, listening to the hollow, suffocating silence of the room.
Turning the brass tap, I let warm water flood the glass shower enclosure. I stepped beneath the stream, leaning my forehead against the cool tiles as the cascading droplets washed over my drained skin. The water traced the curves of my body, carrying away every physical trace of that scorching, relentless night with Alexander and Cedric.
Yet, nothing could cleanse the raw terror carved deep inside my chest. Every single drop hit my skin like a quiet reminder: *I am washing away the touch of two men who worship me, only to throw myself directly into Vincetti’s hell.*
Wrapping a plush white towel tightly around my body, I stepped out and stopped in front of the vanity mirror. My face was hauntingly pale a loud scream of broken resilience and my bloodshot eyes betrayed every tear I had fought to hold back. I dried my red hair thoroughly, letting the vibrant strands fall in soft, shiny waves, before getting dressed.
Adjusting my posture before the full-length mirror, I smoothed my palms down the soft fabric of the royal blue dress I had chosen for the day. The cut was elegant and sharp perfect for the office hugging my frame gently to highlight my curves.
I applied a delicate layer of makeup, concealing the dark shadows beneath my eyes and forcing color back into my cheeks. Sweeping my red hair into an intricate, polished updo, I stared at my reflection. I looked radiant, breathtaking as if arming myself for a battle where my body was the armor, radiating a cold, calculated strength.
Snatching my handbag and car keys, I stepped out into the hallway. My heels clicked against the polished floorboards, their steady, dignified rhythm echoing quietly through the empty corridors of the estate. I passed the private wing without looking back, descending the grand staircase with an unyielding pride designed to bury the total devastation gnawing at my insides.
Outside, the cool morning air hit my face. My car sat waiting on the driveway. Unlocking the door, I slipped into the driver’s seat, slamming it shut to seal out the rest of the world.
I turned the ignition. The engine roared to life with a deep rumble. Glancing into the rearview mirror, I took in my reflection: poised, powerful, and completely self-assured.
But deep within my eyes, a suppressed terror burned for the confrontation ahead.
Pressing down on the gas pedal, I drove through the massive iron gates of the estate, carving a path through the quiet, misty city streets in the early morning light.
I was heading straight for Vincetti’s mansion... to pick him up for work as usual, marching right into the devil’s lair.
I pulled up to the towering gates of Vincetti’s massive estate a structure radiating the same dark, oppressive authority as its owner. The heavy iron gates creaked open, allowing my car to roll smoothly over the polished cobblestone driveway until I came to a halt right before the grand main entrance.
I didn’t have to wait long.
The heavy double doors swung open, and Vincetti stepped out. He wore a tailored black suit that amplified the intimidating width of his broad shoulders and the sharp, uncompromising angles of his face.
I stepped out of the car immediately, taking swift, measured strides around the hood. Reaching out, I pulled the front passenger door open for him.
"Good morning, Mr. Vincetti," I said, lifting my gaze to meet his, keeping my tone smooth and composed.
He paused dead in his tracks, his polished shoes freezing against the stone steps. His piercing blue eyes narrowed into sharp slits, studying the unnatural stillness of my face.
"I expected you to hurl insults and curse at me," Vincetti remarked, his voice smooth as velvet and cold as steel.
